Great location, very peaceful and very good for cycling and walking.
The hard standing look out into wide open fields, with views that go on into the horizon.
There is a tea room on site but it’s a bit up market and when visited, wasn’t made welcome.
Bus stop on the entrance to the site and buses go to Nottingham and Leicester.
Ignore final destination on sat nav though. Need to go about a mile further down the road.

We are on our way from the south coast to Scotland and using this as a stopper.
Chris the owner met us on arrival with detailed descriptions of things to do in the area.
There is a small park and ride bus into Nottingham and the Loughborough steam railway is about
Half an hour's drive away.
The site is spotless, each pitch has its own water and electric supply.
Site is on well cut grass and surrounded by sheep.
Yes we will be back.

Great site. Large pitches. Good dog walking area. Toilet and shower block along with laundry and washing up area. All you could need along with friendly helpful wardens.
To note however and no fault of the site, come dusk, we were invaded by swarming flying creatures looking like a cross between a large bee and a beatle.
They were attracted to the caravans and were bouncing off the windows and us while we were outside. We quickly retreated to the caravan.
As it went dark, they subsided. Only swarm in the evening but guests need to be aware

An idyllic beautifully quiet countryside location with beautiful sunrises and views, with every pitch having their own electric and water taps very close by.
Also, Christopher the proprietor and his wife are very helpful and welcoming.
The beautiful warf is only two minutes walk away in a very pretty village, with a traditional pub and tea room.
All in all a very nice place to relax.

Lovely, cared for site. Inexpensive - should charge more. The Plough is 10 minute easy walk - good food.
Very relaxed owner who is available if needed and friendly.
If the site has space, there is no rushing you off which makes for a relaxing end to the weekend.

We. Arrived around midday Chris the owner greeted us the setting is wonderful open fields, site was mowed and well manicured tea room on site.
We walked into Hickling via the fields to the plough pub real ales on tap and a nice cafe opposite the pub both serving food.
Our stay here was made more pleasant by Chris's hospitality and helpful information about the local area.
We will return soon. No toilet due to covid.

Grove Farm was an excellent site for us with friendly owner. Access was easy and we were pitched on hard standing (but surrounded by grass). Gates secured at night.
Liked the position next to the greenhouse with panoramic views across farm land. Convenient tea room/chocolaterie on site is recommended.
Lovely walk to Hickling basin and canal from the site. Two pubs within walking distance (0. 5m), warm welcome & delicious Sunday Roast at The Plough.

Great site. Welcomed with plenty of info.
Good walks with the dogs. Wifi worked fine. Plenty of local places to eat and drink.
Exactly as a CL should be.
All good - We will be back.

What a little gem. Beautifully maintained, very quiet and the owner Chris very helpful finding us hard standing because of the rain and letting us fill the van using the hose from the green house. Thought it was excellent value for money.
Good dog walk directly out of the site, which can be made into a circular walk taking in Hickling basin. Walk instructions provided by the site.
Can't comment about the facilities as prefer to use our on-board ones.
