Me and a mate were cycling up the country and this was our second stop. We were greeted by stunning scenery and a lovely proprietor who showed us around their excellent and incredibly clean facilities.
We didn't have £1 each for the shower sadly, however the lady on the desk provided us with a pound each and was happy for us to pay her back later if we had the change, which we were enormously grateful for.
The nearest pub was perhaps 10 min walk away with a few others around besides which were all accommodating and worth visiting.
In the morning we stopped by the farmshop for a cup of tea and some lovely cakes.
All in all a lovely campsite with a cracking view and lovely staff. Would recommend.

Nice aspect easy access from road.
When we arrived, initially I was pleased to see the 'hard standing' consisted of tiled slabs to put your van on. Now if you don't intend putting up an awning this is fine. However, with an awning a nightmare. You have to put the van right to the edge so the awning can go on the grass. The slab is raised up, with a cement slope round the edge so the step up is huge and you can't peg it right next to the van. The so called grass is rocks with a layer of grass on top.
The showers are with a £1 coin so take plenty. You get 4 mins which you can do but don't hang about. Why they don't just add that cost to the nightly fee, I have no idea.
We had lovely weather whilst there and Loughborough and Leicester are not far away. Barrow has a Co-op for shopping. You could walk but we rode in and parked at the Co-op.

Booked here for a 3 night break. Had a really friendly welcome and were able to choose our pitch on the large expanse of grassed area. Adult Only site but families with children were allowed to visit.
Had a problem the fridge alarm at first then the microwave wouldn't work properly. Did mention the fridge at Reception but we thought it may be our fridge, as it seemed to rectify itself but our microwave did work perfectly on our return home, hence some campsite electrical problem.
Later we read that someone else had had similar. Went to check out the washrooms. All very clean but only 2 toilets and 2 showers each side for the size of the site and no lock on the Disabled door, just a sign to hang on the handle.
There was also a small step on exiting the block, which should really have been well marked to prevent tripping. Both washroom areas had bollards outside to indicate cleaning time. Good but not good at 8. 30-9. 00, the busy time for campers and not cleaning all at the same time.
The addition of the Farm Shop and café are a plus but this added to the amount of people using the toilet facilities available.
Everything about the site itself was, however, pristine and scenic with pleasant views of the surrounding area.

Nice open clean and level site with good bathrooms.
Friendly managers.
Only small drawback was they decided to clean the bathrooms at 8. 30 am, which was the peak usage time and made things awkward.
Apart from that everything else was fine.
Had meal in Blacksmiths Arms in Barrow, which was very good, and would recommend

Everyone in our group absolutely loved this site. The location is stunning, with great views over the valley and an abundance of birds swooping overhead (the dawn chorus really is something here).
The facilities are modern, clean and well maintained, and definitely make that £17 a night add up - although it would be nice if the £1 a shower was included in this price.
There are plenty of activities a short distance away, and a lovely village with plenty of pubs within walking distance.
There is even an on-site farm shop that sold the most amazing strawberries.
The staff were so accommodating and personable, they couldn't have been more helpful.
Absolutely would choose to stay here again.

Mixed views really!
Adult only? Caravan opposite has 2 adults and a young teenage boy, how does that work?!
The road bordering the site is very busy, granted it does quieten overnight but is noisy during the day - if visiting suggest the field or hard standing away from hedge bordering the road.
Cost is £22 per night inc. EHU but does not include shower - it is £1 but not sufficient to allow for hair washing so need £2. So, realistically (for 2) costs £24+ unless using your own facilities.
There are only two toilets and two showers for each sex which is maybe insufficient if the site is full as potentially could be 20 hard standing and 50 pitches on grass including tents which have been using the sinks in the toilets to wash their clothes (not their fault) but as there are only two persons allowed in the toilets at present could be an issue.
There are walks and cycles from the site and a small shop (fresh fruit and veg, sandwiches, pickles etc. ) and cafe en-site.
The village is a mile from the site with a cooperative and a few pubs (unsure if open or what they offer at present).

Beautifully clean site, new hard standings are excellent. Facilities were spotless. Such a peaceful retreat.
This site is a credit to the owners. The site is close to Barrow upon Soar which has some nice riverside pubs, small supermarket, newsagent, fish and chip shop and railway station.
Only 3 miles from Loughborough.

Fabulous site, never disappoints. Beautifully presented, the new hardstandings are a great asset.
Superb clean facilities, feels safe with COVID precautions.
Always received excellent customer service, we have stayed 3 times over the last 15 months and visiting again soon.
Always able to accommodate us when we have e tended our stay.
Worth visiting Bradgate Park, lovely walks, scenery, deer and wildlife. 3 Crowns in Barrow, lovely food. And reasonable prices.

Lovely quiet site. Janet was so kind and welcoming-she even did our dishes for us one day! Toilets and showers were spotless. Pitches were large and well spaced out. Definitely worth a return visit. Site was a bit too far from village to walk with our wee dog.
