I stayed at Greenfields for a total of about 2 weeks over a four week period, and I cannot praise both the owners and the site itself highly enough. My colleague and I were recommended the site via the Dorset Moths Facebook group and upon arrival we were grateful for choosing to stay. We arrived late at night on our first night and the owners couldn't be more helpful and not at all bothered by the late hour.
From the start they treated you with the utmost kindness and really made you feel like a guest at their house and not just another customer.
The site really is fantastic, bucolic and entirely peaceful. The nearest road to the site is almost entirely impossible to hear through the natural barrier provided by the trees and you can really enjoy a truly secluded and tranquil experience. Although I was doing research in the surrounding area and couldn't afford the time to see many of the sites that Dorset had to offer, Greenfields really is situated in the heart of beautiful countryside and the site itself is an exemplar of what there is to offer.
If you were to come with children I couldn't think of a better place to let them explore: with the deer right across from you and the never-ending forest beyond the camp site, Greenfields is a haven for wildlife which provides endless entertainment.
Facilities couldn't be faulted. Toilets and showers were always clean and fully stocked. There was always plenty of water and if there was ever anything I needed I couldn't find a single fault in the way the owners would try and help me out.
It is pleasant and always refreshing when in a situation like this is when you find that people are genuinely nice and friendly - this is what I found with the owners. Never too busy to stop and chat and ask how things are going. They run and lovely site that is definitely worth every penny and I wish them lots of luck in the future. If I'm ever in the Dorset area I wouldn't hesitate to come back and I would indubitably recommend them to anyone.

I chose this site as we love to have a camp fire each evening. The site has a good perimeter fence which you'd not be aware of, its not intrusive. This is a bonus for a single Dad, the kids are safe to roam. Lots of space too, I couldn't have thrown a ball as far to the next tent and how often can you say that.
The facilities are basic but always very clean and ample for the visitors. The owners are approachable, always helpful and their own produce is very good. (Eggs, venison sausages)
I took my son fishing (on site, a five minute stroll through the woods), although I'm not into fishing it was great to see him catch a fish on his first time.
The pub along the road (10 min walk) serves good food.
Summary - If your looking for evening entertainment, swimming pool, play areas etc. It wont be the site for you. If you are looking for unspoiled, uncrowded woodland camping, camp fires and a site that you think 'I'll go back there one day'. You've found it; and I cant say better than that.

My husband and I stayed at the Shepherds hut for our honeymoon - we reached there straight after the wedding. It was absolutely fantastic. The hut was ideally decorated for the occasion - I could not have asked for anything more perfect. Foo and Tim are great hosts and we were lucky enough to catch a ride with Tim to the town. Foo was very approachable with a lovely smile on her face.
The place - it is surrounded by woods and lots of greenery. Not only did we wake up hearing the soothing birds chirping noises, we also enjoyed the quiet back to nature walks in the woods. The deers and swans were around throughout. It is also quite handy to make fires. The place had a very clean toilet and shower room too.
Altogether, it was one of the best camping experiences we've ever had and we can't wait to be back there sometime soon. Xx

We have just returned from 3 amazing days at greenfields.
Foo and tim are great hosts, nothing is too much trouble.
The site itself is perfect, plenty of room for each pitch, loads of deadwood to burn and very quiet.
Toilets and showers are clean and tidy, showers are nice and hot too!
The beauty of this place is they only allow 10 tents at a time on which means its never going to be overcrowded.
Great pub up the road in case you don't want to cook.
Overall 10/10, we can't speak highly enough of this place.

We had an enjoyable family 3 days here, with kids of 6, 9 and 12.
The camping area itself was great - widely dispersed sites with trees in between, fireplaces, and a good supply of fallen wood to make the fire. The farmed deer in the next wood were good neighbours (well fenced off).
The facilities are simple - a couple of loos and a shower that takes 20p pieces - but kept clean and stocked with loo paper and paper towels.
The location is good for short car trips to Cerne Abbas or Sherborne Castle(s).
The owners were helpful and relaxed.
All in all, a recommended site.

We had a fabulous time here, the children thought it was great and as it is all enclosed they were able to roam freely.
The woodland campsite is unique and being able to have a campfire really made it special. Foo and Tim were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
The shower was an experience! and although there is no drinking water on site there were plenty of bottles supplied.
We will definitely come back again

I am fairly new to camping but our experience at Greenfields was brilliant. We were made to feel really welcome. Nothing was too much for our hosts. The site is beautiful and really well looked after and the toilet and shower facilities were extremely clean. The shower is better than average. Drinking water is provided and there is a washing up area. The scenery is beautiful and the site is privileged to have a lake and dear roaming in the gated area by the pitches. There is a lot of space so campers have privacy, which we like. Their eggs are the best I have ever tasted and they also sell venison burgers and sausages. The site is near lovely and quaint Sherbourne and other interesting attractions such as Durdle Door. Nearby there is a friendly pub serving nice food. We are going back this week again!

I was in two minds whether to write a review of this campsite as part of me wanted to keep it a secret as we enjoyed it so much. However this wonderful campsite deserves a review. This is a fantastic campsite if you are looking for a rustic camping experience.
It is in an idyllic setting in the forest with only a few pitches (approx 14). On our arrival the children loved the little drive to our pitch once we had unpacked the car on the back of the trailer behind the quad bike. There are two toilets and one shower only a short walk away and adequate for the number of pitches. Due to the low numbers of tents allowed to pitch we never experienced any queues and the facilities were always very clean. There is a small lake near by and our 6 year old son caught his first fish. The forest area is entirely enclosed so very safe for the children to explore. It was fantastic to be able to pick your own wood for a fire at night
There is a wonderful pub within walking distance serving fine real ale and great pub food at reasonable prices (Hunters moon pub). This is a working farm and you can buy fresh eggs and venison sausages and burgers. The campsite is run by Tim and Foo who are extremely helpful and friendly who couldn’t do enough to make your stay enjoyable.
All in all if you are looking for entertainment, swimming pools, children’s play areas this is not for you. But if are looking for a truly authentic camping experience I could not rate this campsite highly enough. We will definitely be going back as soon as we can.

We visited this campsite over the easter break for a 2 night stay. We really got rained in the 2nd night due to a gale storm and was afraid that the tent would blow away! So did not get the RnR that we're looking for.
It's a relatively peaceful place however and you get your own space. The people running it were also alright, but a bit absent-minded.
We bought eggs and also asked for sausages but only received half what we paid for.
Will also not recommend if you don't have a car (bikers or people thinking of commuting by train/bus) as location is quite obscure.

Beautiful, natural camp site. Friendly owners who gave a warm welcome and make sure you have everything you need.
Being a fairly new camper I'm used to parking my car beside my tent, but the location where you camp isn't suitable so you load all your items onto a trailer and the owner will drive to your tent. It actually makes for a more idyllic experience, set in a stunning wooded area, no cars, only your tent, stove and camp fire. If back to nature camping is your thing, you will love this site.
Toilet and wash basin basic but clean and hot running water. Plenty of wood to burn a camp fire. Lovely walk through the wood to a small lake in the morning before breakfast. Popped to The Hunters Moon pub, really lovely traditional pub not to be missed.
Older kids would love this experience, but not ideal for younger kids, or kids that like to play football, rounders - having said that the owners do have other fields on site so you could check this with them.
Would recommend if you want to put a big smile on your face and relax and laugh, and I would most definitely return myself.
