Lovely site, very handy for Oulton Park. Our 4th visit.
Steak and Guinness pie to die for. Lovely people.
Excellent walks in nearby Delamere forest and other pubs, restaurants and farm shops a short drive away.

Great little site, just behind the pub, grass and hard standing, this was our 2nd consecutive weekend here,
Its a lovely site, owners very welcoming and helpful,
Pub has great meals and beer, unfortunately, our second visit coincided with the CV lockdown, so the pub had to shut Friday night,
My lurcher FLINT loved sitting in the van window looking at the rabbits, that he would love to chase, if I let him
Contrary to earlier reviews, the toilets in the pub are available all night via a key, which is locked in a box at the door with a combination lock
There are no showers here but it wasn't a problem, used the van shower
Cant wait for all this CV stuff to blow over, so we can go back

We booked this site on spec as we wanted to meet friends for a meal. And this was 1/2 way.
Easy to find but and well kept, it was in the middle of winter and raining and sleeting, oh joy. Opted for the hard standing and electric.
Paid for the 2 nights that I booked for and was told to take my pick of any free pitches.
Well the pub is throw back to when pubs wer pubs and not boil in the bag polished food palaces.
Food amazing, you must be Hungary as the portions are not small, and cooked for you. What a change these days and real beer, Roboinsons at that and for the olde person they sell Mild.
Great atmosphere with the locals and the others on the site.
Down side is the main road noise and Oulton Park Motor Racing near by not a problem for us but may be to some.
My recommendation must be good as we booked another 3 nights.
No shower block but the pub toilets are available when it is open, moreover they are clean.
Highly recommended.

We have just come back from stewarding a Lancashire & Cheshire Da meet as part of the C&CC and what a fab time we all had. We were made to feel really welcome most of our campers had a lovely home cooked meal as well as have a few drinks. The landlord and his family and staff was really friendly and more than welcoming the Karaoke started playing and everyone joined in great fun was had by all. Locals, campers, staff, and campers who wasn, t with the rally altogether having a great time. I no I will certainly be going back along with the rest of the campers who was with us and more besides. So on behalf of Lancashire & Cheshire Da thank you so much for a great time keep the coal fires burning because we will be back

A nice enough site, but the hardstandings could do with upgrading and levelling. We managed ok though, but would have appreciated being told when I booked that we were to be invaded by a rally; we would probably have gone elsewhere. There is a useful dog walk directly from the back of the site, with a notice that states 'dogs on leads and no smoking!' There was never anyone around to enforce either rule and no livestock, only potato fields.
Plenty of other local walks in all directions so it's good for a few days.
Asda in Winsford for supplies, and a Shell garage on the way into the town. £14 per night a little excessive.

Stayed at this site for Christmas 2014. The site has the usual
Facilities hardstanding pitches, water, elsan and hookups.
The pubs toilets can be used during opening hours. The pub is a great little country pub with real ale and fantastic food at a fair price. Supermarkets in winsford about 3 miles and a farm shop about 1 mile. To sum this is a great site well run and well worth a visit. The only down side is no showers but for a short stay we managed very well in the caravan. And due to closeness to a long drop into a valley and wood not a site for children.

Campsite is lovely and quiet. Easy to find and pub is extremely friendly and accommodating and the food was great. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant. We didn't use anything else in the area apart from Oulton Park, which is only a 10 minute drive away. There isn't a shower block but this didn't bother us as we have a shower in the caravan.
We have a baby which the campsite were happy for us to bring with us and were also fine with the baby coming to the pub with us. However they don't allow any children over 2 years old to stay at the campsite.
We would definitely us the campsite again

Stayed on this site over the christmas period 3 nights with EHU plus a christmas dinner hamper (microwave needed) to eat in your own van/caravan.
First the site, 5 pitches each, hardstanding and grass all with electric on a big plus side you do not have to have the EHU anyone with a solar panel here’s one for you. Site is well kept and at the back of the pub so only sight road noise. Not sure if it is all of the hardstanding pitches or only two end ones they had a slope towards the rear, caravans had no problem with this as their steadies are long enough but if like us you are in a motorhome/camper we found our levellers were not quite high enough on saying that it did not cause us a problem we just borrowed 2 small paving slabs from by the water pipe returning them when we left this gave us the perfect level. For any dog owners it was good to be able to walk the dog on site (great dog walk) in stead of having to walk down country roads in the dark.
Facilities; There are no showers and as others have stated the toilets are in the pub these are open from 9am to when the pub closes. This was not a problem for us. These were always spotless with a good supply of loo role.
The pub; This is a country pub which serves food so has a country pub atmosphere a mixture of locals and visitors. We were made to feel very welcome, food was excellent with a good selection and the beer was well kept to “so my husband said he is a real ale fan”. We collected our hampers on Christmas day after having a tipple in the bar first and returned to our van for a feast. Reheating the food caused no problems it tasted like they had just brought it to us from the kitchen in fact all the food was excellent and so much of it every course was covered from starter to the chocolate treats and even a cracker to pull.
All in all we could not fault anything so if you are looking for a relaxing Christmas with the chance to recharge your batteries this is the place to try. Also there are some nice leisurely walks from the site so no need to drive.

We have just had the most amazing few days camping that we have had for several years. The site was second to none, the owners couldn't have been more helpful when we had a problem with our chemical toilet. We will be back as often as we can. It was so tranquil and our batteries are once again fully charged.
We particularly enjoyed staying here because it is a quiet and natural campsite; tidy but not cultivated like a park. Native trees have been planted and wild areas left to encourage wildlife. The owners are also developing a dog walk round the edge of the field and the views over the cornfield are lovely. Basic facilities but well kept and fine if you have your own on board or only staying a few days. Lovely food and beer garden.

The pub and beer garden are lovely and the hosts are very friendly and helpful. We ate in the pub and the food was excellent.
The site consists of a number of pitches some on grass and some on hardcore. Unfortunately ours was on the hardcore which was on an incline and surrounded by nettles and brambles.
The toilets are available during the day, however in the early morning only the gents are available. I'm not sure if the campsite is 'work in progress', however we were quite disappointed.
