What a gem of a site!
I took my Dad for lunch in June and chatted with the landlady about the camping facilities (We only live approx 15 miles away from the pub).
We visited in Aug 2012 in our caravan for 3 nights, with our 2 kids and dog and our friends and their 4 kids and dog in their trailer tent. We were told by the land lady when we booked about the busy main road and sudden, hidden drop at one corner towards the back of site and, therefore, the need to supervise younger children at all times, this was not an issue for us.
Best access if towing a caravan is to approach the pub from Winsford direction as it is a little tight on arrival from other direction, if coming from Chester can head to roundabout a little further up (2 miles approx) to change direction and make the turn in Easter.
Lovely welcome on arrival from the pub landlord who directed us and van into site, showed us where electricity, water point, toilet empty point was. 'No rush, just pop in and pay whenever you are ready' we were told.
Beautiful location just off main road (A54), you can hear the road but it didn't bother us.
Beautiful view including view of cornfield next door and cows grazing in other field, campsite located behind pub, hard standing and grass pitches on large field.
Good rates caravan £12. 50 for 2 adults, £2 each for kids. Camping £5 PP per night.
Toilets are in pub and available from early in the morning till when pub closes.
Pub grub, delicious and very reasonable. Excellent service. Garden with bouncy castle for kids and BBQ selling hot dogs/burgers, again very reasonable.
Great location for attractions; Oulton Park, Snugburys, Chester city, Zoo and loads more.
The landlord and landlady couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating.
All in all a great 3 night break, the kids loved the space available thanks to the big field and the bouncy castle in the pub garden, thankfully the weather was good too despite a dreadful forecast.
We look forward to returning in the future.

Stayed here one night after a day out at Oulton Park with my dad and brother.
Pitch rate was cheap at £5 each, the tent field is small but perfectly formed with great views over the rolling Cheshire countryside.
I read on their campsite that the toilets were only open during the hours of the pub being open which wasn't a problem for us - good clean well provided toilets.
The pub serves excellent pub fayre, really well cooked food - compliments to the chef. The prices are very reasonable and the ale is also well kept. 3 of us stuffed our faces and drank rather more than we should have and it still came to less than £60.
The landlord and lady were very friendly and all the staff really made you feel welcome. I will definitely return.

After just having a wonderful weekend away here, apart for the rain which could not be helped. Our dog loved the large field and the dog friendly room in the pub which meant she could join us in the pub. The landlord and landlady and staff made us feel very welcome, we only ate one night in the pub but the food was great, keeps a nice pint, very clean and tidy toilets, as were the pub and campsite. The site has children's area but due to the main road unless supervised a bit risky. We would go here again in the future.

This was a fantastic little site in a lovely location.
The hardstandings looked fine, all with EHU and with a chemical disposal point and water nearby.
The camping field was a lovely big space that was reasonably flat. The facilities are limited (although they have just installed a few EHU points for tents), but they are exactly as described. Access to a toilet is available from around 9am until the pub closes.
For my purposes (a two night stay) it was fine, but I would think about it a bit more for a longer stay with the family, as the logistics of washing up dishes gets complicated!
There was some road noise through the night and there were a few small planes & helicopters, but that didn't bother me in the slightest.
We ate in the pub once and it was fine. Reasonably priced pub grub - nothing fancy but perfectly adequate!
There was a small play area behind the pub (a couple of small swings, some toddler climbing things and a bouncy castle). This was OK - but didn't hold my 3 yr old's attention for long (so don't rely on this as a way to keep small people entertained!)
The owners seemed nice, and really didn't seem to mind when I told them I had spent my last £15 on food in their pub and had forgotten to pack my wallet. Ooops (a cheque is on the way!)
A great little site - Recommended.

Great little camp site, was greeted warmly upon arrival and directed to where we could pitch our caravan and given a full tour of the site.
All the facilities where clean and modern. No showers but we knew that when we booked.
Pub is excellent! friendly locals and excellent service! food is brilliant and good value for money.
Ideal for couples. Young children would struggle for things to do, but the pub had a bouncy castle and swings.
Could not hear the road at night
Would definitely go again for a cheap weekend!

A lovely little pub in a quiet area of Cheshire. Malc and Jackie are very welcoming and run a small, friendly, old-school country pub that is warm and friendly.
There is a lovely real fire and pulls a decent pint of bitter. We didn't try the food as we were trying out all the facilities in our new MH and made our own food.
We popped into the pub later in the evening for one but ended up staying for three and a half hours, sat in the warmth playing cards. The locals were friendly too. Very chilled.
The pitches are new hardstandings in a field at the back of the pub. Electric hook-up and fresh water and chemical disposal point close by. Nice open view. Reasonable for the price.
Will definitely return again if I'm in the area.
