Stayed at this lovely site for 5 nights with my girlfriend and 2 dogs.
Owners were very friendly and gave good advice on local areas to visit, eating places, walks etc
Campsite is very well kept, plots are secluded and very peaceful, toilets and showers were spotless
Come home feeling relaxed with 2 very tired dogs!

We are just on our way home after 7-wonderful nights at North Rhinns. I can only echo the previous reviews. Excellent pitches, reliable EHU, free hot shower (walk in wet room), 2-loos with washbasins. Lashings of hot water in loos and pot - wash. All facilities in a clean and modern building. Friendly hosts who will offer advice on where to go and what to do. Fire pits on most pitches and the owners provide big bags of logs with kindling and firefighters at £5 per bag. Very little road noise and we were on pitch number 2 next to the gate. Lulled to sleep at night by the birds, wood pigeons, sheep and lambs, cows and calves, and the resident barn-owl. 5-minute drive to the shop in Leswalt that is like an aladdins cave and manned by two lovely ladies. Can recommend the packs of Gypsy Cream biscuits that are made locally. 10-minute drive to Stranraer, a lovely little town with an eclectic mix of shops.

One of my favourite campsites in one of my favourite areas. The site is small (10 pitches total) which for me is a bonus. Well sheltered from the wind, nicely planted with trees and shrubs. The pitches are generously sized, well spaced and private. This doesn't stop you from meeting link minded folk though.
Your hosts, Kath and Richard have gone to great lengths to ensure every need is catered for. The wash room and toilets are kept spotlessly clean. Even though there is only one shower I never needed to queue. Hot and powerful enough. The wash area is indoors and usually has a good supply of cloths, sponges and washing up liquid. There is a covered cooking area for bad weather.
Most pitches have a dedicated fire pit and logs / fire lighting kits are available at £6 for a large bag. Our bag kept us going for 2 nights.
Kath and Richard are both lovely people, they make the site a joy to stay at.
We have stayed twice with the first time being colder and windier and the second bright and sunny, both times we found the site comfortable, the perfect base for exploring the Rhinns.
If you're a walker or have a sense of adventure you'll find plenty to do outside in the local area. Lots of hidden beaches and coves, the lighthouse at The Mull of Galloway is a good visit, great to climb. Stranraer is close by for shops etc and Portpatrick is worth a visit for the walks and pubs / eateries.
My kids 12, 8 and 6 enjoyed both visits and were lucky to find friends on both occasions.
We'll definitely return.

Just back from a 3 night stay at this site. If you are looking for quiet, relaxing place this fits the bill. Site owners could not have been more helpful, facilities were immaculately clean and tidy with plenty of information on the local area. Pitches are well spaced with option of a campfire at designated points on pitches.
Would definitely go back.

This is truly a little gem of a site and I will certainly return if in the area again. The site owners are campers themselves and this clearly shows in all the little details such as the towels, soap, etc provided in the washrooms, the water bowl and tie up lead for your dog outside the building and many other things that not all campsites think to provide. It was all very clean and everything worked as it should. There are two large rooms with toilets and washbasins and one large wetroom with free hot shower, all wheelchair accessible. Washing up sinks with teatowels and liquid. Fridge/freezer for campers use. Book exchange and folders with details of local attractions, restaurants, walks, places to visit. Price was a very reasonable £9 per person and £2 for EHU, per night, and they didn't charge for the dog - who enjoyed his walks around the edge of the site on the designated dogwalk. The owners were very welcoming and helpful with advice on good walks etc. The site is well situated for exploring all the peninsular. There are three pitches with hardstandings for campervans and all pitches are sheltered. N. B. Caravans are not accepted and there isn't room for large motorhomes either.

Arrived to the site and received a very warm welcome and made us feel at home. Facilities very clean and spacious. Perhaps could do with an extra shower as I would imagine when it is busy there would be a queue. The site itself is a little gem for peace and quiet and the pitches are well apart. Stranraer not too far away to get all you’re shopping and there is convenience store is Leswalt. Plenty of places to visit in the area but the Mull of Galloway and the Galloway Forest are a must. Would back to the site if we were to visit the area again and thanks to Rob and Kathy for their hospitality and their help especially when the weather got bad.

Had booked to stay here for the weekend whilst my husband was over in Ulster. I had previously booked earlier in the year and had to cancel at short notice. I had paid in advance but they credited me so that I would have a reduction if I managed to get there this camping season. I thought that was very fair. I was in plot 4 with ehu which was very sheltered. The weather was very poor over the weekend - 40mph winds and stormy with lots of rain but the plot was sheltered from the worst of the wind by the trees. We liked the site so much we extended our stay for a further 4 nights - and the weather improved! Clean, quiet site. Personal picnic table. Lovely perimeter walk for the dog. One large shower with plenty of room to get dry and dressed. 2 large toilet/sink cubicles. Plenty of hot water, soap. Nice washing up area with lots of magazines, books, maps things to do. Really useful fridge and freezer to keep ice-box continually cool. There was even washing up liquid and tea towels - although we had our own. Very warm and friendly owners - who put some large home grown courgettes out one day - free for the taking. We barbecued our share. Kath and Richard were always ready to suggest local walks etc. As I said to Richard when we left, 'Don't change anything!'

Had a really enjoyable stay at this campsite in May.
Lovely site with quiet and well maintained individual pitches in their own secluded area. Bags of room and we easily accommodated separate tents for us and our two daughters on the same pitch.
The small shower block and kitchen was excellent and spotlessly clean.
We enjoyed a spot of glamping having brought with us, not only great food to cook but an electric hook up line for our pitch, an electric kettle and our own hot water bottles. A warm and cosy time was had by all.
The owners were fantastic and very welcoming lending us a spare bicycle (to replace our daughter's one) and a touring map to explore the area and have a great lunch at the Corsewell Lighthouse Hotel. The surrounding area is both beautiful and interesting. The roads are fairly quiet, the main drawback being that because they are so quiet, whatever traffic there is travels at some speed.
However we had a great bank holiday and even fitted in a trip to the Titanic Museum in Belfast, a short day hop across the Irish Sea.
Well done on establishing a great site. We intend to be back.

Just returned from a 4 day stay. We had a lovely time in a tremendous location.
Our tent was bigger than the owner had anticipated but we found a great spot for our stay.
One of the best features of the site is how sheltered you are from the elements. My friend who was nearby left his campsite and went home as the wind was too strong while I sat out with a campfire watching the smoke rise straight up.
Facilities are excellent, my wife and kids enjoyed the book swap.
If you enjoy the night sky its rural location is excellent.

Spent 4 nights at North Rhinns, what a little jewel in the crown.
Open just over a year the owners add all of the little touches that make camping so much more pleasant, ie: copious amounts of hot water, proper towels refreshed every day in the 2 large very clean toilets also liquid hand soap, 2 sinks with drying rack and washing up liquid if you forget your own, Large walk-in wet room with free electric shower.
The site consists of 10 secluded pitches 2 being gravel hard standing for motor homes electric hook up on these 2, every pitch is surrounded by trees/bushes giving protection from wind etc, the pitch I was on was a little stony make pegging out a little difficult, the site has underground drainage so flooding will never be a problem. Will definitely recommend and I will be back.
I cant complete this review with out mentioning 2 eateries recommended by the owners.
1. The Mariners in Drummore approx 25 miles at bottom of peninsular.
Dont be put off by the decor. This place is run by a supa tuff biker her food is amazing try it you wont be disappointed.
2 Blue Peter Hotel Kirkcolm, once again super pub in a lovely village with a warm welcome excellent food and real ale all at a very good price and generous portions
