This is a good campsite for families. When we visited there were lots of families with children of all ages, which suited us as we have 5 kids. That's not to say it was noisy or annoying, just child friendly. Decent toilet and shower facilities. Pleasant pitches in fields surrounded by countryside. They will charge phones, tablets etc at reception for £1. 00. Overall it was a really nice stay. It doesn't have the views that Golden Cap has but is otherwise recommended. The local village, with decent pubs, is about a 20 min walk, a bit long for very small children, fine for older kids and adults. Good location in terms of things to do and great coastline. A large supermarket about 10 min drive away, so easy to stock up. No play area, but our smaller kids did not seem bothered and had loads of room to play. You need to make sure young kids don't wander off to the river, but it's some way from the pitches. Generally it's a good site, clean and pleasant.

Once you've driven through the static park, entering the touring field is a delight. There are spacious pitches with electric in one field, surrounded by trees and separated by little fences and thoughtfully placed picnic benches. In a further field, it's tents only, no electric and lovely views. A surprisingly quiet site given its size. The facilities were clean, and a few minutes walk back into the static area. Lots of toilets and showers, and a couple of family shower rooms with sink, toilet and shower, great for washing the kids! Hairdryer in the ladies. Laundry room with ironing board, iron, and freezer for ice blocks. You only pay for laundry, no feeding coins into the showers!
Burton village is a 20min walk, the three horseshoes pub is a gem, lovely beer and great food. Gets busy, advisable to book!
30min walk to hive beach, or the cliff top walk to west bay.

Nice open site with fairly large well spaced pitches. The facilities are a short walk away from the pitches but not too far and were mostly well maintained.
The village is 10/15 mins walk away and the Three Horseshoes pub di us a great meal one night. The village garage also has a good enough range of basics and the bus stops in the village hourly to go either to Weymouth or Bridport. Good easy walks around too. Burton beach - maybe just over a mile away - is a good one and has the Hive cafe on it - stunning spot and very good breakfasts there!

Now that our daughter is grown up and doing her own thing, its now mine and hubby's turn to go camping on our own. We opted for a quieter campsite and were not disappointed with Graston Copse!
On arriving at the park, we met Sarah the lady in Reception who was very pleasant and helpful. She explained how to get to the 'Tent Only Field' and off we went. It was one of the reasons we chose this site as the Tents weren't amongst the Motorhomes (our pet hate!)
Well. On pulling into the field, it was HUGE and there was multiple places to pitch up - what a choice!
The scenery was beautiful and there were various walks around the site.
The walk to the facilities was pleasant through the copse, or through the statics. The showers were clean as were the washing up area and toilets.
The park was very quiet after 10pm which can be rare to find these days.
We walked into Bridport along the coastal path which was nice but very windy that day. The hill at the end of the coastal walk was a challenge but we made it! The coastal path takes you to West Bay (the seafood shop there was stocked full of variety - we opted for crab) and then its on a straight road from there to Bridport. It took us over an hour to walk but was enjoyable, even though the weather was against us. We caught the bus back which was £4. 40 for the 2 of us.
There are 2 pubs in the village of Burton Bradstock which are the Three Horseshoes and The Anchor. Personally, we preferred The Anchor as there was more atmosphere but that was a personal preference.
All in all, we would definitely go back to Graston Copse - the site was clean, basic but had everything you need and Sarah in Reception is an asset to the Park. It is a little pricey for a non-electric pitch (£44 for 2 nights) but for the peace and quiet, it was worth it.
We don't particularly have any gripes, only that on such a big field, why do fellow campers feel the need to pitch up directly next to you when there is so much space to enjoy without being on top of each other.
One tip - when trying to find the campsite - it is easier to drive into the village of Burton Bradstock and find the campsite from there (a couple of minutes by car). We followed our satnav and ended up negotiating the narrow country road towards the site. Very frustrating when meeting various tractors and cars as there are very few passing places.
Thank you for a lovely weekend Graston Copse :)

Absolute gem of a site. The tent pitches are set away from the main park, providing wonderful peace and quiet. We pitched in the large field (by the friendly cows) and there was lots of space for my two boys (6 and 3) to run around and play games. The Copse is a lovely little walk and really safe - so we just set the boys free to investigate and have lots of freedom.
The toilet/shower block is lovely and clean and never busy. The washing up facilities are perfect for our needs and the site even provides the use of a freezer for re-freezing the ice blocks!
There are some lovely walks from the park itself and we walked down to the beach, with some minor moaning from the boys!
The lack of light pollution is wonderful as we had fantastic views of the stars at night and we even saw a glow worm!
Fantastic site - which has everything just right - will definitely re-visit.

Spent a fantastic 2 nights here, could have been disastrous as our fridge failed on gas. The amazing warden, Barry managed to arrange some hook up for us. Lovely site, well maintained, spacious and very clean facilities. We walked along the public footpath all the way to West Bay and what a lovely walk it was, you have to watch out for the odd golf ball though! We also had a fabulous meal at the Three Horseshoes in Burton Bradstock, I would recommend booking as it was very busy. Would definitely return again in the near future. The only possible downside is the narrow roads but that comes with being so rural.

We wanted a quiet site and that's just what we got!
Plenty of space on well kept and level grass. We visited the 2nd week in July and saw only one other tent as well as half a dozen motor homes.
Burton Bradstock is a short walk away or two minutes in the car and Bridport has a substantial sized Morrison's for any supplies you might need.
You do get the feeling that the camping and caravanning field has been a bit of an afterthought as it's behind a huge hedge, hidden away from the privately owned statics, yet all the facilities are in amongst the statics. I don't want to criticise the facilities because I found them clean & pleasant although those of us with long hair would prefer the shower to stay on for a little bit longer to allow all the shampoo to be rinsed out!
If back in the area I would revisit.

We stayed for 7 nights in July and thought it was a very well maintained site with staff who were extremely helpful.
When we arrived we went to find our pitch, with hook-up, only to find that we couldn't pitch close enough due to several other units in the way. Not a problem for the staff who very quickly ran an extension from a vacant static caravan pitch, through a hedge! to connect to our lead. We were allowed to keep this in place for the whole 7 nights we were there.
Being early in July the site was quiet with a frequent turnover of neighbouring units, but at no stage did we feel crowded. Showers were excellent and waste disposal, water etc were clearly signposted.
The site is perfectly placed for visiting Bridport/West Bay, Charmouth, Lyme Regis and Weymouth and the Isle of Purbeck the other way.
Recommend West Bay and Lyme Regis during the week as too crowded at the weekends. Also recommend the drive along the B3157 with stunning views across Chesil Beach to Portland Bill. Terracotta and Tutankhamun museums are good value in Dorchester.
As in other posts, satnav takes you off the A35 before you arrive in Bridport(coming from Dorchester) Best to ignore this and carry on to Bridport and come back to Burton Bradstock along the B3137. A bit twisty in Burton Bradstock but much easier and safer than the other way.

This campsite is in a beautiful location, nicely tucked away, but also close enough to all of the coastal areas we wanted to visit.
We had already informed the site of our later arrival, 6pm and arrived on site when the office had closed. Locating the site warden wasn't easy, but we were pleased he was on this site as the alternative(as directed on the office door) was to drive to another campsite in order to find him. We have suggested a phone number to call might be more appropriate. However, the warden was friendly, helpful and showed us around the site leaving us to choose our own pitch, which was a nice touch.
Facilities were not too far away from us, but unfortunately on one morning the toilet block was especially untidy/mucky. The washing up area we felt was also cramped-especially if all 3 sinks were in use at the same time. The added benefit of having a freezer to refreeze iceblocks was particularly useful for us.
Overall, for the price and amenities, we were a little disappointed, but for the location perfect.

** Great Campsite **
Recently spent 3 nights at this gem of a site. Myself, my wife and Son(14) plus Wilson (Black Lab) were greeted with a warm welcome and within minutes were escorted to the camping area where we had the choice of generously sized pitches. The site is extremely peaceful with a mix of privately owned caravans and 3 sectioned areas for tents.
The shower/toilet block is spotless and every visit I made was greeted by Barry who was again cleaning the floors to ensure it remained clean and tidy.
There are two short forest walks leading from the site which are very pretty. The local village is around 10 mins walk or 3 mins by car and contains 2 pubs and local shops.
The surrounding area is stunning and a visit to West bay is a must.
If you want a quiet restful camping holiday then you want find better and special praise has to go to Barry and Co for keeping the site looking great.
