A Saturday night here in May and we thought it was a great site. It's a well appointed camping site with farm shop on the premises and an easy 10 minute walk to the Parrot pub. The owners were very friendly and helpful and it's good value with a simple per-person charging scheme.
We'll definitely be returning soon!

Excellent couple of days with laid back owners. Not able to speak to anyone on the phone as we tried to do same day booking, but as it was available as an online booking, we paid and turned up on the same day. Pleasant surroundings with the last of the bluebells, farmshop with meat, eggs, jam and honey; firewood available. Lots of space on unmarked pitches with no silly charges for pup tents and awnings. Facilities: clean but unisex/ communal; did not bother us.
There were two fields and lots of space, and the drive was pretty. Leith Hill Tower an hour's walk away.
Peaceful place and honking geese did not bother us; we would go back!

Great location at the foot of Leith Hill but I feel that this had made the owners a little bit lazy when it comes to the site itself - the grass hadn't been cut for weeks which made it hard to run around and made everything wetter for longer after rain.
The toilet blocks are also in need of some TLC - perfectly functional but a bit tatty and they weren't clean or well stocked with paper when I used them. The drinking tap also had a pallet underneath it but nothing else and it was surrounded by boggy mud.
Also, don't stay here if you're hoping for a quiet night - the camping field was bordered on one side by a flock of geese and the other by a flock of turkeys, very noisy from dawn until dusk!
On a positive note, you can have fires anywhere and it's all very laidback, so I'd still return.

Another fantastic trip to Etherley Farm.
A relaxed site of two fields where you can pitch where you like. Great for groups as you can pitch together in a circle if you want to. The main field has the toilets and water etc and tends to be where families go. The other field is slightly larger and where the people without young children go!
The facilities are very basic. No play ground, but lots of space to play games. The toilets and showers are in a couple of old portacabins/shipping containers. There are 3 showers in the portacabin in what appear to be old sports changing rooms. However, there is a big problem with low water pressure and often the showers don't work. When I tried all I got was a trickle of cold water, not enough to shower under. Others in our group had similar experiences. There is a sign warning of low water pressure and to wait 20-30mins for it to return. One problem with this is that almost all the loos for ladies to use are in the shower rooms, so on occasions and particularly when the only other ladies toilet broke, there were long queues to use the loo while waiting for people to try and shower! Oddly there are plenty of gents loos/ urinals but only one ladies loo. Although this was a busy, sunny August weekend so might not always be like this.
On day we walked to Leith Hill Place which was surprisingly good fun for kids with a lovely slope on the lawn for rolling down while us parents enjoyed fresh tea and cakes from the kitchen. Inside the house is very relaxed, not like most National Trust houses. This is a bit more rough and ready, but lovely touches like a piano anyone can play and an activity room for kids with musical instruments, books, colouring etc. We also visited Leith Hill tower, but drove closer before walking up the steps to the tower. Nice ice crea and views!
A great site with space to run about, not expensive and stuff to do locally. Toilet/shower facilities being improved - especially more ladies loos would be wonderful, but basic faciliites do help to keep it's rustic charm!

Stayed here with my son on a small tent overnight prior to the Dunsfold Wings and Wheels. W&W is about half an hour away so it's a good stop over point. We liked the fact that you could have a campfire but the rain was so heavy we couldn't get one going and wouldn't have been much point in being outside anyway. The place is quite hard to find off the main road but it is a nice friendly site with basic(ish) facilities. Would definitely go again, hopefully when there was better weather.

Just like to say what a great night out my daughter and I had camping out in my van for a night. (was going to tent it but rain was forecast for our one and only day/night)
we were told (long grass) field was clay and was very wet - I knew my van would suffer but chanced it, only to get stuck in middle of field! Luckily 4 strong blokes down for the day gave us a shove and we were sorted (for now|!)(Thanks guys!)
Facilities basic but has all you need (toilet cabin floors bit muddy but it was raining and no big deal)- but we had the field to ourselves all but one lone camper. (it was late October)
We planned to be 'self sufficient' for the night anyway.
The allowed open fire (fire wood can be purchased at farm shop along with eggs)was one of the main reasons for choosing this site.
My Daughter loved the owl noises and general back to nature feeling.
Plenty of woods all round for nature walks (National Trust areas) - next time we will explore more (at a drier time!)
Animal noises was not a problem at all. Would come back gladly.
Oh and thanks to the farmer man for pulling us out of the field with his big tractor! (which finished our mini adventure perfectly!)

This is a nice basic site in a good location, its a short walk through the forest to a local pub by a village green and cricket pitch.
It is basic though, there is a toilet block and another unit with 3 showers (ex-cricket or rugby club changing room I guess from the design). It could do with a bit of basic TLC, one shower did not have a working light, the other shower did not have a working light in the toilet section - bulbs can't be that hard to change? The door locks are also a bit tired, if your not of an exhibitionist nature I would make extra effort to latch the door securely and give it a good test!
The fields are fields, so not 100% level (no problems with my 2 man tent, would been issue with our family tent I suspect), and also the grass was very long on our stay which was a bit annoying as an evening stroll to the facilities resulted in wet shoes inside tent for the evening.
Noise:
So camped here with friends and I was the first to arrive, so had to choose the pitch - tricky one! The geese are LOUD, and there are two fields, the main field and the 'group field' that's a longer walk from the toilet block and nearer to the geese. We chose the site as they allowed camp fires ('dad's trip' with old friends who are also worn out dad's) so I decided to pitch in the near empty group field which was a wise decision because at night they move the geese from the field opposite down to the main shed next to the main field where the turkeys are!
RECOMMENDATION: pitch in the group field not the main one with the toilet block in it as its a lot quieter!
The site owners were very friendly, there is small shop on site for wood (ask for wood only bag for £5 rather than one with 'fire kit' for £6 if you have matches and some tinder with you!) some poultry meat predictably and eggs.
Good:
- Relaxed site. Pick your pitch, camping as a group - ring tents round the campfire.
- Open fires permitted, wood on sale on site.
Bad:
- Noise from animals if you don't choose pitch carefully.
Horses for courses, I stayed with 4 other guys (quietly and peacefully I would add!), basic facilities no problem at all (would have been different if had kids with me), pitched in group field with loads room and not so much noise, open campfire and short stroll to pub on Saturday for lunch (pub also has farm shop) - was perfect for our requirements.
Oh, and last note the access road and field are a bit bumpy and not so level, if your driving something low slung take it easy.

Great location for visiting surrounding area. Could be idea if you are looking for rustic BUT Is a working POULTRY farm, not just a couple of hens and cockerels be prepared for the sounds of 1000's of turkeys gobbling though out the night or the sudden clicking of feeders and lights and the geese chattering. Sounds of the country one expects when staying on a farm, of course, but no one has noted these barns full of thousands of turkeys in it and another one full of geese. They are free range - which means the barn has no sides - meaning every time the light comes on in the night and they are fed- you the campers share the experience. If you want quiet then this is not the place to be, they went on all night.
Also, when we were there, there was a party of a group of 18 year olds. Owner was very efficient at kicking them off the site when the swearing got too much for a family with young children to bear but then they all went to the forest and screamed like wolves. Later they all came back, making a racket and I had to sort it out. This was not one- off as DofE chap said last time they had been there had been a big party. Also a few review back someone said they had heard a party near by. Toilets were filthy with urine and sick from group. All cleared up next day and spotless. With that and the poultry I felt like I had to go back to train driving for a break.
Ok, so farming is their business and the geese and turkey are here to stay I would check about parties before booking. Like I said great location but not really what I want from camping and I will look for a quieter campsite next year when going to the area. I put child friendliness quite low because of all the noise and the swearing, I did not really think it a great experience for them.

I'd echo a lot of the views below. I'm not a light sleeper but the noise at night was quite bad. Ontop of this a generator kept on kicking in, running/stopping then restarting- probably to do with the working unit where all the birds were kept next to the camping field.
The shower block is basically three units, so if three people are using the showers you've got a wait and the pressure on one of the showers was a trickle at best. The toilets were clean.
The welcome was friendly and the vibe from the other campers brilliant. We do wish we'd pitched in the groups field though as that was almost empty and a distance away from where the birds were kept at night.
