We normally tour, but took advantage of a promo week in a static caravan. Tark site staff were very helpful, good friendly bar, and a well stocked shop. We picked up the Tarka trail, just across a very busy main road, outside the site. We were lucky to get few days of nice weather, ideal for our cycle rides. Croyde was near and we visited the beaches, (Next year Croyde!) Hartland Point is spectacular, well worth a visit. It has a pub with parking, where we enjoyed basket meals. Tarka site makes a great base to visit nearby towns and villages.

Camp site itself was ok, with a little shop,a bar which served food, and childrens play area, however tent pitches are marked out and when we asked to move to a larger pitch we were told it wasn't possible and had to pay another £100 for a second pitch to have more space, however the larger pitches were available for the full week we were there. The showers and toilets in our field were portakabins, had no hot water in the toilet and the light didnt work on a night, the showers had no where private to change and a window where anyone could of seen you getting changed

Very friendly reception, facilities clean and modern. Lovely flowers. Caravans and motorhomes packed in rather closely; no water point with hose for motorhomes - another caravanner helped us out. Rather expensive,(£21) outside the school holidays, as we didn't want the bar , kids' stuff etc, but convenient for the bus. Horrible dual carriageway along which you have to go for about 400 yards to get to the Tarka Cycle trail , which is great when you get there. Didn't notice the road noise at night

Having just returned from a Holiday at Tarka Holiday Park, staying in a Static Van (due to the recent weather thought we would give our beloved tent a rest). A really nice site, pleasant staff greeted us on arrival, not too many rules and regulations. Didnt check the shower block out, as we had our own facilities, but my 11 year old son, checked out the play park, which was excellent, and very central too, not too far away from the statics or the camping field, which is a plus point.
The bar was very nice, again very friendly staff, although we didnt try the food, but looking at the menu, it seemed very reasonably priced. The shop was more than adequate, and prices not too high either - again another plus point. It was nice too seeing the young ladies walking around the site (no dont get too excited) I am talking about the hens! (eggs Available in the shop). They also do bike hire, the prices very reasonable, perhaps next time we visit we may hire bikes and go on the nearby Tarka Trail.
The site, although right next to a dual carriagway, did not cause any real noise problems, only what you would expect! Although we stayed in a basic static, it was very clean and comfortable. It is a very central site for all the usual seaside towns, Woolacombe, Ilfracombe etc.
All in all I would highly recommend this site.

The site was pleasant and clean. There were two blocks of showers and we didn't have to wait. The small club house was good. I especially liked the beauty salon on site. I had a wonderful facial and massage. However the field we were on is right next to the dual carriageway which is noisy and has bright street lighting, you didn't need a torch! There is another camping field further up the hill. There were 21 pitches on our field and for most of the week there were three units which was lovely. At the weekend the site was full. The pitches are just 20 feet wide. Our tent is 16 feet across so we just fitted in. Several tents were too large for the pitches. The tent next to us was just a foot away and some were actually touching. The safety aspect of this doesn't bear thinking about. There is also a lack of privacy. It felt like camping in a car park.Caravan pitches were also small. Its fine for small tents, midweek.

Have just returned from a 5 day break at this campsite. The site wasn't very busy and on the touring field there were approx 5 tents, 2 motor homes and 3 touring caravans. The shower block was very clean, although a little on the small side. Fortunately as the site wasn't too busy it didn't cause any problems, however should the site be full, I can imagine a large queue forming for the 2 showers which were available. There is another shower block, although when we asked this was closed as it was to be re-furbished later in the year. I am not sure if they open it up when the site is full. The bar opens at 1700 hrs and food is served between 1900 - 2100 hrs, food reasonably priced and a varied selection. There is a pub a short drive away called Tarka Inn, this serves excellent food, also The William Arms a little further down the road serves a varied selection of food. The site itself is situated just off a busy dual carriageway, the traffic noise can be heard but doesn't spoil your holiday. You are quite central to Ilfracombe, Woolacombe, Bideford, Clovelley and Lynton and Lynmouth. All of which are worth a visit. I would recommend this site to others.

First impression lovely campsite. Excellent facilities for children, adventure playarea with equitment for little ones and older ones. A very large bouncy castle which was inflated at night, right opposite the clubhouse, so you felt comfortable with your children playing there. Arcade, snooker table, very large screen tv and pitch & putt which cost a pound hire of club from the shop per half an hour (we took our own much cheaper)
The campsite itself had a very very slight slope nothing to worry about. Pitches were marked out and plenty of space for my large tent and car parked in front of tent. Toilets were nice and very clean very modern (3 toilets and 2 showers in each block for male and female) also two laundrettes. We were in D field we had extra loos in portaloo style (very handy for late night needs). Entertainment was available 3 nights a week, the meals in the clubhouse very reasonable Tarka burger and chips a real lovely experience £4.95 well worth it, it will fill you up. Hens wandering around the park is a lovely touch. North Devon coastline is fantastic lovely beaches fab waves.
Saunton and Woolocombe well worth a visit. My only dislike is the duel carriageway on entrance and exit of site it does take a little getting used and a little difficult to master. (no problem with traffic noise or any other noise on site)
