We’ve just spent three memorable nights at The Limes campsite in Lincolnshire, about 11 miles to the West of Skegness.
The site offers a large pond, personal picnic bench and water tap, hireable fire pit, hammock, shared fridge/freezer, WI-FI and a wonderful welcome by the owner, as well as clean facilities no more than a minute’s walk away and shops etc. Available in 7-minute drive away Spilsby.
It’s a fantastic family campsite, which can also be used by caravaners or those wishing to arrive with ‘things already sorted’ by booking one of the site’s Bell Tents.
A real gem in the mixed economy of campsites nationwide.

Great getaway surrounded by lovely villages and fields!
Very friendly hosts who provide wood for campfires. Absolutely loads to do in the local area, there is a horse, alpaca and birds of prey sanctuary right next door, several charming villages within a walk or bike ride away, incredibly friendly and helpful people plus many other attractions which the lovely owners will direct you to!
The campsite itself has a firepit with wood, bike rental service, WiFi, mains electricity and much more, absolutely one of the best.

Just returned after spending 4 nights at The Limes. A very enjoyable visit, quiet, relaxing and well kept. The pitches are a decent size so you don't feel crowded.
Bird song filled the air, with wild life all around. On the downside the facilities aren't wonderful, but a shower and toilets are apparently planned which should make a big difference.
There are a few good walks by the dykes. No nearby shops or pubs. Certainly my sort of site. All in all a good site which I will return to.

We stayed for four nights in our camper-van and enjoyed this site. This is a well managed site and the owners are very friendly.
Currently it does not have a toilet but they are well on the way to having one: they are just waiting for the plumber. The site is flat and well drained.
The internet is weak but allowed me to get email and scan the daily newspapers - and of course, check the weather.
The site is sheltered as a protection against the strong Lincolnshire winds.

We booked for 2 nights at this lovely site well kept and the views and the wild life is truly amazing we were met by the owner he was very nice and very friendly bent over backwards to help with our needs if you are wanting peace and quite this is the place in fact we didn't want to leave as we felt so relaxed we were watching the rabbits and all types of birds and there is a natural pond there with plenty going on. In the village there is a lovely fish & chip shop where you can eat in or take away there is also a Sainsburys there you are not far from the coast although there are no showers or toilets there the owner is going to put showers and toilets in. The pictures don't do this site justice just would like to add its a credit to the owner

What a little gem. Just spent the most idyllic weekend at this site and did not want to leave. It is so peaceful just sitting by the lake watching the wildlife playing happily together.
The pictures on The Limes website do not do this site justice but I believe its about to be revised.
The pitches are very spacious, some actually facing the lake and comes with your own picnic table and there is even a barbeque courtesy of the owner should you find you've left yours behind.
The owner is on hand most of the day keeping the site looking at its best and making the odd improvement here and there - not that it needs any.
We would have liked not to give a review of this site as it may prove very popular and then we find we cant get a pitch next time we try and book but on the other hand because the owner has created a beautiful little haven its just meant to be shared.
We will definitely return (if he has room for us) and soon.

The site is a very tranquil with lovely views and a natural pond teaming with wildlife. You have plenty of space to pitch up on flat ground also FREE WI-FI which is very handy. The site is within close proximity to Spilsby which is a lovely small market town with everything you need from 2 supermarkets to a really good selection of independent retailers from bakers, butchers and delicatessen to ironmongers, Post office and of course pubs and restaurants.
Being on the edge of the Beautiful Lincolnshire wolds you have a wealth of discovery ahead from some very historic towns and villages, stunning rolling hills and meandering streams to lots of public footpaths and bridal paths with inspiring views.
The other side to Lincolnshire is its amazing history from world famous explorers like Sir John Franklin and John Smith, to its Saxon and Roman links and of course the Pilgrim Fathers and also the Poet Laureate 'Tennyson' to mention but a few.
Not forgetting that you are within a short distance of the east coast with some of the countries best Golden Sandy beaches and world famous nature reserve 'Gibraltar Point' and of course the thrills and spills of Skegness and Ingoldmells
We will be back!
