We stayed at Pear Tree fm 2 nights in May we had a lovely welcome and really enjoyed the location. We walked to Malton over the fields and along the country lanes, Its about 8 mile and takes around 3 hours. We caught the bus back which drops you by Ebor Caravans on the A64 and then a walk of 1. 5 mile back to the site.
The site is well kept and the toilet block is clean.
Thank you for a lovely stay

Good Day to you
I am not one for writing reviews but this small rural camp site, warrants my time and effort. This is a real gem of a site. We were lucky enough to have the whole place to ourselves for 5 nights as it was early in the season.
Situated in a very quiet village within easy access to main roads to utilise its location as a base for visiting the many attractions this part of the country offers.
The owners are very accommodating and available if required for advise. Our young child enjoyed the proximity to the farm animals and offered his assistance in cleaning the horses out.
The very large Dog run is excellent with an abundance of rabbits offering free exercise opportunities for the more athletic dogs.
The toilets and showers are cleaned regularly.
On reflection; the only item that was missing was a village pub in walking distance but this will be rectified should we visit again with a larger stock of ale.
We wish them all the success they deserve.
Thanks.

This is the first review I have ever made (anywhere) which is an indication of how impressed I was with this small friendly site. Our party included a 4year old boy and he had a wonderful time. Hence the adults had a relaxing break too!
It is situated on a small working farm and children are encouraged to get up close to the animals and learn where their food comes from. We were there at the end of harvesting and at age 4 he now clearly understands where his porridge comes from and how it gets to us. Being so close to a tractor and combine harvester was a particular highlight of our midweek visit. That is down to the kindness of Becky and Phil, the owners.
The site itself was spotless and safe for youngsters - they can't really go far out of sight. The games room (pool, table tennis, swing ball) would have been useful if the weather hadn't been so kind to us. Toilets and showers are checked several times a day and look recently decorated. There is a dog walking field plus fields to run around/play football/fly kites in. Electric hookups are available for tents and caravans. There is a laundry room with a pay-per-use washing machine and drier (or you can use the owners private washing line!) plus a fridge-freezer and dishwashing area. All appliances look new. You do need to shop for provisions elsewhere (apart from meat produced on the farm) but there is a Londis about a mile away should you forget anything. Becky runs a tuck shop on a few evenings (after checking the children have all finished their dinner). Somehow she even remembers all the children's' names which makes them feel special.
The site is situated in a small unspoilt village but is only a mile or so from the main A64. This means it is within easy travelling distance of York, Scarborough and many other places in beautiful Yorkshire. Nearby Castle Howard is worth a visit ( if only to marvel at their fantastic road through the estate). One word of warning - do not be tempted to pay an entrance fee of almost £6per adult to access the advertised 'woodland play area' at the Arboretum near Castle Howard. We were not the only people to feel cheated by the few logs arranged on the ground!
So, all in all, a fantastic find and I would be very happy to spend another short break there.

Just returned from Yorkshire and spent the last 2 nights at Pear Tree Farm site which is small and very well organised.
Situated off the A64 so easy access into York for park and ride or cycle from the park and ride if you wished we tend to walk from the car park as we take our dog into York where people receive her well.
Clean showers and toilets with the bonus of use of laundry facilities always handy at the end of a holiday.
We would stay there again but not in children's holiday time as yes it's very good for children they are catered for on a great scale.
Pity there's no noise curfew as our fellow guests the second night had music and a fire pit going until the early hours, not much fun when we had to drive 7 hours home.
Good dog walk around the farms land.
Couldn't fault it the first night.

Spent two nights at pear tree farm and wished we could have stayed longer, we ve already booked to go back. We have an eleven year old and four year old and they both loved it and played with the other children on the site, as it's small you can keep an eye on the children and it feels very safe. The toilet, showers and washing Area are very clean as is the campsite, my little girl loved feeding the lambs and chickens. And played in the games room both nights. There are plenty of places to eat out nearby and monks cross shopping centre isn't far and has an asda and sainsburys, and there's loads to do, York city, flamingo land, etc all nearby. The owner Becky is lovely and very helpful. We also took our dog and there were plenty of walks to take him on just behind the campsite, would definitely recommend pear tree farm

First time we have been to this site and may I say fantastic. My 12year old liked it, my 9year old who is hard to please loved it. Our 2year old wanted to do everything except go near the bull, which by the way is friendly. We were made very welcome by the owners and their family. The farm tour was great for the kids. Well done. Booking for next year. Thanks for a good time. K&ja robinson. This is a site I would recommend if you want nice relaxing time
