This is a delightful site, with everything we needed for our 9 night stay. Booking in advance was really easy and we were welcomed personally by the owners, even arriving after 9pm on our first night. Nothing was too much trouble for them, helping us with local information and advice. The site was quiet and calm with only a few other visitors during our stay.
It is close to the road, but without any significant noise or disturbance. Numbers are limited so I couldn't imagine that this site would ever feel crowded. The facilities were more than adequate, with toilets, showers, washrooms for both male and female, which were spotless.
We never queued at any time of the day to use the facilities. An indoor washing up area with hot water is free to use as well. The site is situated on the outskirts of Exmouth very close to a national trust property - Al a Ronde - was within walking distance down a public footpath - a delightful walk.
The views from the site are quite lovely over the Exe Estuary and the sunset view was stunning, every evening was different. We met many other lovely uk and European campers during our stay, my children felt safe here being able to play ball games and have some freedom knowing the gate was shut and the site was well hedged in.
There is a bus stop right outside the site, and we were able to catch a bus into Exmouth or Exeter for less than a days parking fee in the town. There is also a local tesco express supermarket, chip shop (highly recommended!) and newsagents within 15-20 minutes walk.
A local garden centre is a short walk away too which does lovely teas/coffee. We will sure be back to Exe Caravan and Camping having had a brilliant week here. Thank you Terry and Georgie for a lovely CC site.
