I have just returned from a couple of days at Lemonford and feel completely rested and relaxed. The site is not a large commercial site but it is a popular site.
It had everything we needed. The bathrooms were probably the cleanest I've ever seen. The kitchen areas were also clean and every sink on the site was provided with a 'j's cloth.
The reception area has a supply of basic necessities like cooking oil, bread and milk and if you order your newspaper each evening they get it in for you. However, the site has been granted planning permission to build a new reception area and shop. The owners are very hospitable and nothing is too much trouble.
The electric points are 16amp which means you are unlikely to over load it. Dogs are welcome and there are lovely walks with amazing scenery. The site is situated near to Ashburton and Newton Abbott and about 40 minutes from Plymouth and about 25minutes from Exeter.
If you want a holiday that is peaceful and you want to get away from the noise and chaos of daily life, Lemonford is a must. I will definitely be going back.

This was the first stay in our 12 day tour of Devon, Cornwall & Weston-Super-Mare & I think we got spoilt, it was a lovely site! the site was beautiful, with neat cut grass(picked up) which my husband loves, no tramping grass bits in! the toilets were really clean & the showers were nice & hot, the fish & chips from the van that comes round were lovely as well, wish we had stay the full 12 nights here! everyone was really friendly, the dog had a good walk to go on, so she was happy! can't give it enough praise, even the local pub was good, 'The Welcome Stranger' & dog friendly, would highly recommend to all. Definitely going back to this site.

Helloooo, we are from New Zealand and just finished travelling around England and Wales (over 2 months). We arrived at lemonford on a misty/foggy day. This campsite is very easy to find and the man at reception was super nice. Put us in a spot where we could be sheltered and park our car right beside the tent. The facilities were good. However, there was only one shower for the females. I didn't have a problem in winter but in summer I could imagine it getting busy (although there is another bathroom block on the other side of the site). The washing up area was good and ample of them. The laundry was the cheapest out of the 15 campsites we stayed at. The pitch did get quite muddy but we expected that camping in winter. Good location to go to Plymouth and Exeter.

Just home from a great bank-holiday weekend. We booked a static at an extremely reasonable price. We have a dog, so didn't expect top notch but when we turned up we were very impressed with the quality, fit & fittings. There was everything we needed from saucepans to grater. We were very surprised as the site looks small, but a walk around shows lots of well kept static vans. Also a great camping&touring site giving everything you need. We would deff go back & recommend to anyone that needs a good site

We only spent one night on a return journey from Cornwall in our camper, Vera.
The owners were very helpful siting us on a flat hardstanding with electric hook-up. It was not very busy as the kids had returned to school. The site looked lovely and clean, the toilets and showers were in excellent condition and all waste facilities were easily available. We didn't need the shop, but it appeared to stock all the basics.
This site is also very near Trago Mills which we visited upon leaving.
We certainly intend to return, for a couple of nights stay this month (and shop at Trago for Christmas) and probably longer next year.

The site is easy to find and access, the welcome was warm and friendly
we were offered a choice of pitches and decided to take one down at the bottom of the site beside the river, which was great apart from the fact that there was no t.v reception to be had at all, either through an aerial or sat dish.
The kids loved the site having fun in the small play area and playing in the stream. Great dog walk and very safe for all.
Toilets and showers where always clean and water was hot. A great base as plenty to do and visit nearby.
We would return again

Site has everything needed. Owners were very accommodating regarding a very late booking and moved some others round to get us on site. Shop was a little empty due to time in the season but all essentials were there. We toured around south devon from here and really enjoyed the area. Shops a plenty for my wife and ample parking, again due to the time of year I guess. The facilities on site i. E. Toilets, showers and washing machines were all clean and tidy and in working order. All in all a good experience.

Stayed here for 7 nights and wish we could of stayed longer. The site it's self is fairly large, with resident statics placed at the back. The tent area however is fairly small with perhaps 7-8 pitches in all.
Our pitch was possibly one of the largest. It accommodated our tent and gazebo perfectly with room to spare. We visited with my parents who had a Moterhome and the owners were very accommodating and put us in the best place so we could be as near as possible to them.
The facilities on site were fantastic and the best we'd seen for a long time. Three toilets and a shower in each side of the block. The ladies had 2 cubicles which I found useful when washing my 3 small children. Mop and bucket provided so you can clean up after yourself which I like to see. I seemed to find the owners cleaning them whenever I went, which with 3 kids was frequently. Always enough soap and paper.
The site was well lit at night time with out being too bright. It gave a perfect atmosphere to the site.
The basic shop on site was reasonably priced but as we went past well known supermarkets frequently we found little need for it.
The play area was perfect for my kids (3-5-7 at the time) it wasn't overly large but had enough space for lots of children to play and all my kids made some great friends for the week.
The owners were very friendly, polite and consistently helpful. As were the residents, giving us directions to the nearest pub and the best places to eat.
Will certainly stay again.

We have just returned from Lemonford after spending a week there. What a lovely friendly site. There are long term residents on site making visitors very welcome and are very knowledgeable about the area and more than happy to share the local information.
Nothing was too much trouble for the owners.
The toilets were very clean, water was hot, never had to queue for showers and they were free. Small shop and plenty of tourist information on site.
The pitches are level and ample space. Small play area where children would gather together to play. Site was safe and secure allowing the children to have a little bit of freedom.
Very dog friendly. Easy to find and very accessible.
Newton Abbott is few miles down road where you will find the big supermarkets. Plenty of places of interest within easy reach.
We will definitely return.

Lovely campsite very busy with only a few spare pitches. I gave the reception the wrong details for our caravan so our pitch was just long enough for the van with the back end in the hedge, but that was my fault as reception would have moved us.
They provide assistance if you need it to get you on and off your pitch, which is great especially if your not that good at judging, as the pitches are quite tight especially if caravans have got awnings up.
This is a dog friendly site with a great dog walk just across the road from the site across fields next to a river.
The toilet block is kept spotless and the small shop sells basic essentials which is handy.
A security barrier operates the entrance and exit to site so you can leave feeling happy that your caravan or tent is secure.
Location of site is great for the countryside and beaches. No awkward narrow lanes to get to this site so a arrived stress free.
Can't comment on the facilities for children as ours are grown up, but the children there seemed to be having a good time.
Would recommend this campsite and will probably return again when my husband next fancies fishing in Teignmouth.
