Just got back from a wonderful bank holiday weekend, spent at midway holiday camp site. We couldn't have asked for more friendly people, Wendy and her husband were most accommodating.
The site is a very well kept field with Electric hook ups for around 14 units. One of the children described it as being in someones back garden. (albeit a large back garden). We had a party of 3 caravans 2 tents and a motor home. It was a relaxed affair being able to pitch anyway we wished. One of our party in a tent misplaced his electric hook up cable, this was not a problem as Wendy's husband brought one down for him to borrow no extra charge. A marquee was erected by Wendy's husband for our use as the weather was forecast to be wet, this was a godsend as we used this to all congregate under to eat all together and socialize.
There is a small holding of animals horses, Rosie and Jethro. Geese, sheep, Cows and Chickens. Fabulous for the children. The lady who looked after Rosie even gave all our children a ride on Rosie and was happy to talk to the children about caring for horses, Many thanks to Nicky. There is an adjacent Field which the children were allowed to play ball, use as a dog walk etc.
There is a cafe on site selling a variety of foods and drinks plus ice creams and a few essentials such as washing up liquid etc. On Sunday, Wendy and her team did a Sunday carvery compromising of Three meats and using home grown fresh vegetables from her own garden -This went down very nicely even accommodating a vegetarian and a Gluten free diet, and for the smaller children who didn't eat a roast dinner fish finger etc. We had a choice of puddings Which were all amazing, as my husband found out by having a little of everything on his plate. The meal was topped off with tea and coffees. Our party compromised 28 people 12 of them children.
To top off what was an amazing weekend Wendy and her husband brought out a circa 1950's tractor for the children and adults to look at and even let us drive around the field, kids and big kids loved it.
The facilities are a little basic but are clean, there is no washing up area but Wendy would have been more than happy to pop anything in her dishwasher if needed.
I would recommend this little gem of a site to anyone wanting a no frills, relaxed camp site brilliant for groups and individuals in a lovely part of Herefordshire. Thank you to Wendy, husband and team.

Very friendly family run farm. Cafe' on site good menu choice. Showers and toilets basic and very clean. Loved all the sheep and a goat called Burt, one lamb called Eric. Just like a little puppy. Very interactive farm, great for kids. Area was beautiful, but close to a busy road. Could walk to the pubs, would not recommend with pushchairs or young children. Great adult walks. Owner did offer to take us to the local pub which was thoughtful. Would visit again. A super start to our camping life.

We have just returned from a weekend break at Midway and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The site is very relaxed without lots of rules but was the quietest in the evening/night we have been on for a long time! The toilets are basic but very clean.
We had a lovely breakfast at the cafe which saved on washing up and the owners were very friendly.
There is a bit of road noise but you soon get used to it.
It would benefit from a small children's play area and also there is currently no shade which was a problem for us on such a hot weekend but overall a good back to basics campsite which was very safe for our 4 year old to run around on without cars & also great to be able to camp on a field without hardstanding pitches.

When we visited we had a nice surprise a lovely hot cup of tea waiting for us, warm and friendly welcome nothing was to much trouble.
The animals were wonderful Jacob lambs were most playful along with the goats Bert + Henry!
Midway is well named as you can park up and get to some wonderful places from there as it is far enough away to enjoy and relax. The local airfield was busy with flying up the valley with the gliders being let off on the thermals.
Cafe has wonderful cakes especially the carrot !and various goodies all day breakfast served are not for the faint hearted, Other items sold were Snails made out of their sheep fleeces which we were assured were house-plant friendly! brilliant and novel.
We see there are plans for the new shower and toilet block they look that they will be very smart when done.
It was nice to see information well posted especially warning signs about carbon monoxide WELL DONE.
The owners and family were lovely always smiling whatever weather. We will be coming back.
