Very pleasant level site, surrounded by mature hedges, nice breeze but no wind.

15 min walk takes you to Tillingham and the Fox and Hounds, lovely pub and great food.

This site was quiet and peaceful, a field amongst the farm land with electric hook up points.

The toilet and shower facilities were basic but fine. We enjoyed a quality 2 night stay and would definitely stay again. Lovely area next to the Blackwater Estuary.

We particularly enjoyed visiting the Chapel of St Peter on the wall at Bradwell.

Secluded, quiet and perfect for that break away. Stopped here for two night whilst cycling in the local area and what a great find.

In basic terms; big field, 5 caravan / motorhome slots and large area for tents, electric hookup at the van / motorhomes pitches and a clean, warm and well looked after toilet block.

The warden give us a warm and happy welcome and give us an info sheet with directions to Tillingham village which has a shop and two pubs.

We walked to the Fox & Hounds for a cheeky afternoon pint before strolling back for dinner though was really temped just to stay in the pub and try the food which looked good.

We will be back to both the site and the pub.

Came here last year when no reviews available (don't usually visit sites with no reviews)and my heart sank for it appeared rather spartan from the approach road.

However in half an hour I'd changed my mind and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, hence my second visit which was equally enjoyable.

It's very peaceful and feels remote (no traffic noise), well maintained with spotless facilities (plenty of hooks in the shower!) and a washing up area outside which also has hot water.

The site is flat with loads of space, the grass well mown and the ground appears well-drained with no signs of tyre damage from waterlogging in wet periods. The far end is not mown and full of wild flowers which is attractive and a nice touch.

The site is only four years old and I noticed trees have been planted which will add to its attraction. Both strolling or more energetic hikes are enjoyable as local lanes lead to isolated farms so have very little traffic.

There are also several well-signed footpaths, including the St. Peter's Way which leads to the sea wall. Tillingham is a twenty minute stroll across the fields.

It's an attractive village and has two pubs (The Fox on the green is friendly and serves food but I didn't eat there) and a village shop.

From here you can take a bus to Southminster, Burnham on Crouch or either of the Bradwells. As certified sites go this is one of the better ones.

Watch out for the sleeping policeman on the approach as he's rather severe and bear in mind there are no facilities for children.

If walking you will need an OS map as no detailed maps of footpaths are supplied at the site.

Very quiet location deep into the Dengie peninsula. Easy, about a mile, off road walk/cycle to nearest small town - Tillingham (with post office and pubs), or to the remote coastal path walk, round the end of the peninsula, past historic 7th Century St Peter-on-the-Wall church, still maintained and in occasional use (near Bradwell-on-sea), and on towards the Blackwater Estuary.

Simple one-field provision by adjoining veg-crop working farm with goats in next door field. Toilets (2) and shower clean, maintained and adequate with good information on local attractions. Hook-ups and water/wastage/re-cycling facilities. Level grass pitch. Owners very friendly, welcoming and only too pleased to advise as you want. We felt very much at home and privileged to have found it.

Ideal place to getaway and escape to, if what you want is a good quiet time, undisturbed. Well done & thanks.

We booked this site at very short notice for a single night stop-over whilst driving north. The directions made the site easy to find and we were met by the owner, upon arrival. The site was really quiet, despite this being high season, and we were wherefore welcome to let our dogs exercise freely, under supervision, in the camping field, as there were no other occupants.

Services on the field were good and we were able to pitch alongside water and hook-up. There is a small shower/toilet building, which is basic, but adequate for the size of the site. We had the added bonus of picking a few hand-fulls of beautifully ripe cherries along the hedgerows near the farm.

This is a walker's delight of an area! I am seriously into geocaching and there are a couple of major series of caches in the area, so I was able to walk the dogs for a couple of hours and indulge in my hobby at the same time.

Neighbouring villages are really pretty and well worth a visit and I can well imagine that this site would be great for a short break away from it all. Peace, perfect peace!

This is a site that grows on you. Upon arrival you enter a working farm which appears bland at first. However, we discovered there was no noise or light pollution and as peace is what we came for, that is what we got. Its extraordinary how much prettier is became each day. This area is one of the best kept secrets and I am really quite loath to give a good review because I selfishly want to keep it for myself.

The local village is a short walk of about a mile on a well-trodden and flat footpath which we found enjoyable. We entered Tillingham village through an old churchyard which led to the village green where we discovered the Fox and Hounds which is a friendly pub. The village is very pretty. The whole walk took 16 minutes. We visited the Londis and purchased some items and the lady that ran it was very helpful and friendly. She wanted to know all about us and where we came from. The trips to the village were fun.

There are many footpaths around the campsite such as St Peter's Way. It is possible to walk to St Peter's on the Wall which is a small chapel founded in 654 by St Cede. This is a beautiful spot with a natural spiritual feeling being close to the sea and removed from houses. A bus can bring you back to Tillingham, a mile from Marks Farm. The whole area, although flat is very pretty and full of wonderful idyllic English villages.

The owners of the farm are very friendly and the Grandmother comes round and takes the money and stops for a chat. She arrived with her newly arrived first grandchild and was beaming. They are organic farmers and a vegetable box can be ordered before arrival. These people are doing a wonderful job and the site is well worth a visit. Not ideal for children but the facilities are well maintained and is ideal for oldies like us.
