We chose this site specifically for the World Superbikes at Donington Race Circuit. We stayed here for 2 nights over the weekend.

On arrival we were booked in quickly and given the code to the security barrier on the site. We directed up to the camping area were told to pitch where we wanted and we chose a sheltered area under the trees.

As it was early in the season, nearly all the campers were bikers who were there for the WSBs. The site itself was well laid out and had direct access out of the back entrance to the paddock entrance of the race track, which saved a lengthy walk to the main gate. Also it saved a fortune in car parking fees as the circuit itself as we just left the car on the campsite the whole weekend.

The toilets were a bit of a trek at the other end of the site near the entrance but eventually they did open a temporary portable cabin toilet block which was much nearer and was well stocked with loo roll, and was kept reasonably clean. There was a small kiddies play area but we didn't see anybody using it.

A word of warning the site is very noisy. It is basically right next to the flight path of East Midlands Airport and you can see and hear the planes quite clearly and they do not stop during the night time! The noise from the race track was very loud, it didn't bother us as we knew what we were letting ourselves in for but it could be off putting.

Overall, a great site if you're visiting the race circuit or you love watching planes take off and land. If not, it's a nice site for a short stay.

To be honest, booked this site as a last resort, as everywhere I wanted was fully booked. But I should have chosen this one from the off. A brilliant site. Huge pitches, and more than helpful staff. Toilets were the cleanest I have ever seen on a campsite, but one block was locked as the site was relatively quiet, so we opted to drive to the ones at the entrance.

Only drawbacks is the fact that it is right at the end of east midlands airport main runway. And that you have to pay £1 for 5 mins in the shower! Planes are very loud, but it didn't bother us one bit, as we were not the quietest of campers!

Lovely helpful staff, even when they were woken at 1am to let an ambulance in for me when I started to have a nasty asthma attack. Local people were lovely as well, which is surprising, as normally the locals don't seem to like the campers/tourers!

In easy reach of Donington race track - museum is a must, and there is an asda and tesco a few miles up the road in derby. Bit of a trek, but gave me the excuse to explore the picturesque country roads, and the fantastic swarkstone causeway and bridge.

I would give this site a 9/10 mark, only because I cant seem to get to sleep now without the drone and the roar of the odd airplane taking off over us through the night! I would recommend this site to friends, and I would definitely stay here again!

Arrived here on the day after the motor GP and the clean up process was already in motion, we were advised to pitch on a hard standing by the very friendly staff and was happy to do so as it had been raining. We tried the facilities later and found everything good and clean. Price was £22 but was given a midweek discount to £18 with EHU. We went here to see the aircraft and was not disappointed so we didn't mind the noise. There seems to be an adjoining field for long term or statics and another for tents. There are signs for having breakfast from the hotel around the yard. Hook-ups and water are available at appointed places around the park so there's no long walks .We only stopped for one night so did not try the hotel or any local shops. We would stay here again.

We booked this site as we attended a wedding at the hotel. The site itself was really nice well laid out and good facilities. Good shower and toilet blocks. Plenty of space for the kids to play. However, the noise. The site is at the end of the runway, well almost. The first plane takes off at dark o'clock about 4:30 according to my wife and goes on pretty much throughout the day. The race track starts at about 10.

If this site were placed anywhere else I would really recommend it.

It was really good though to come out of the wedding walk to the tent and fall asleep. Probably imbibed a bit too much to notice the planes after that.

I can see a big plus here though if they let you leave your car whilst you catch a plane.

Stayed at this site twice now first time end of June for world super bikes and second time in august for truck racing and enjoyed myself both times. Found the site very clean and family friendly. The people running the site are very helpful and friendly and the facilities are good and kept clean.

There is some noise from the race circuit but never seems to bother anyone as most people are there for the meetings anyway if you are it is really close to the circuit takes less than 5 mins to walk to the paddock. Only down side is air craft noise but it never stopped me returning to the site and will do so again.

There is a co op pubs etc 5 mins drive away in castle donnington so no need to run short of anything. Only criticism I have is the kids playground could be a little better only 2 swings and 1 small climbing frame. Overall I would recommend this site to anyone especially if you are attending a race meeting.

Very last minute visit, we found the owners very nice and helpful. The toilet facilities were adequate, and the showers reasonable.

Prices were quite cheap, and plenty of pitches available.

There is a bit of aircraft noise, but after a day or so it is less noticeable. There was a bike event on at the track, so some noise from there but not too invasive. We will be back.

Great site for Donington events! We stayed here while watching the Touring Car last weekend. Its very well placed with the Paddock entrance literally at the back of the field. We stayed at the back, near to an EHU point. The kind lady looking after the site lent us (with a £20 deposit!) an extension lead, which we were allowed to stretch across the gravel road allowing a more secluded pitch. The area was slightly sloped and the rain (lots of it) drained quickly

My 4 year old lad quickly wandered off to the small play area in front of us and found a few friends to boss around! The area felt quite safe for him except for an area in the woods with a small pond. This had a broken fence around it and allowed children to play close to the edge. Luckily the older children he was playing with asked if he could go there and I checked it out first. Definitely a no go area for younger children!

The toilets were clean and well stocked with toilet paper, soap and paper towels. As we were only there for the night we didn't use the showers.

We didn't venture out at all while we were there except to watch the racing, so no details of the surrounding area!

There was an incident of thieving on the Sunday, but the Donington security staff were excellent. We returned for a break just after some heavy rain around midday, and found security staff running all over the site. They had stopped a suspicious lad with a rucksack who was leaving the campsite, and then were looking for his accomplice who was seen running away. They checked all the tents and caravans for evidence of break ins and found another rucksack with stolen items. They were very thorough and it was reassuring to know that when we went back to the event they were keeping an eye out. This didn't spoil our trip at all.

The planes didn't bother us, it seemed very quiet actually during the evening. The other campers were respectful of the noise at night, quite a few had late nights but didn't bother us.

We would definitely return here again for a Donington event, and maybe as a short getaway sometime.

 A total mixed review!

We stayed her for a two night break over the Easter weekend.

The campsite was well laid out and it was nice to be able to choose our pitch. Our children (8 and 4) loved making dens in the adjacent wood, and they and other kids congregated in the centre of the camp field, where they could play happily and were easy to keep an eye on.

The showers cost £1 each, which can run expensive when there are 4 of you! The toilets were cleaned every morning and were useable, but did not compare with the lovely facilities that we have experienced on other campsites.

The bar/hotel may have been nice, but both nights of our stay there were private functions on in the hotel, which meant the bar was shut.

The aircraft noise we found was worst late evening and early morning (from about 6am). We were also particularly unlucky in that there was a big motor racing event on at Donington Park next door while we were there. That was extremely noisy - roaring engines, loudspeakers, fairground music - all this on top of the aeroplanes nearly sent us packing! Also, many people visiting the event were staying on the campsite, and their cars were constantly roaring up and down the field. I think it would have been fairer for the campsite owner to inform us of this.

Saying all that, however, the lady running the site was very friendly and helpful, our kids loved the site, and Donington village nearby is surprising attractive and has everything you would need - co-op, shops, pubs, take aways, restaurants.

Good friendly warden running the place

No water on pitch but within easy reach

You can pick your pitch- stay clear of trees for midgies

Little park, nice green areas for play.

Ok for a short stay 1 or 2 nights but the planes are a problem once the novelty wears off. The site is very close to main hotel and the noise from wedding receptions and party events- especially if poor karaoke pub singers booked. The staff were lovely go the extra mile to make you feel comfy. The toilets are clean and well kept. No shop but a drinks machine on site. Tesco is a couple of mile away and petrol is at the airport.

They let us keep our car on site whilst we went abroad for one pound per night this really helped. I left my two teenagers on site as they were travelling to France the following day by flight- the lady warden really looked after them for me and even got them free ticket to race course.

We stayed here for 5 nights as part of the Download Festival RIP package. The site is very nice, level pitches and well kept. As we got there early we managed to get a hardstanding area next to the access road which made it easy for pitching. Its a pity that the festival campsite officials allowed tents to pitch on many of the hardstanding areas using the hardstandings just to park their cars and therefore some of the electric hook up points went to waste.
Some of the later arrivals in caravans and camper vans had to park on the grass and use generators as they couldn't access the hook ups, I guess this was nothing to do with the campsite owners though. Access to Donington Park itself is excellent, infact during the festival I found it quicker (and nicer!) to come back to the van to use my own loo than to queue for the festival loos!. This campsite is excellent for anyone going to an event at Donington Park, we shall stay there again if we can.
