Nice small but basic site with plenty of piping hot water.
Good for dog walking & cycling only a 2 minute walk into the forest where you can let the dog off the lead.
Plenty of quite country lanes for cycling once you get off the main road which isn't that busy but everything goes past the site at 60mph.
No shops or pubs within walking distance.

The site was lovely and peaceful, and an ideal base for accessing the local hills (Donald and Corbet bagging).
The toilet and shower were basic, but very clean and the shower was lovely and warm and with decent pressure.
The host was quick at relying to emails when it came to booking.
I travelled on my own with a dog, and felt very much at ease.
Great value for money and would stay again.

Lovely site, right in the middle of nature. Some road noise, but it's not too bad in the day.
Night time it's hard to tell there's a road there.
Good facilities.
If it was possible to have a drive over motorhome point for emptying water then 10/10. It's not a deal breaker, just convenience.
Walks along forest tracks 5-10mins from site. Nature and history abundant.
Andrew the owner, top bloke, shows you around the facilities, knowledgeable on local area and a nice person to talk to.
Will stay there again for certain.

Friendly welcome. We were shown the facilities and advised of the best place to park up.
The shower and toilets were clean, though quite basic. Plenty of hot water.
Good value for money.

Stopped here on our latest three month tour, interesting little site just off the main road, (that being the quietest main road I've ever been next to),
The site is a work in progress, with many things started yet to be finished,
The facilities are good with the free use of a washing machine included in the price,
There are some good walks from the site, however you need to like spruce trees.

Lovely little site. Great location with some nice walks nearby suitable for dogs also.
A short drive to the next village where there was a nice pub for a pint. Andrew the owner was very helpful and friendly.
Lovely hot shower and clean toilets.
Very peaceful and quiet, would definitely go back.

We loved this site! It’s small quiet, and in the middle of nowhere.
We went on some lovely walks from the site.
Shower room and toilets were great and the washing machine is free- which was nice!
The site owner was friendly and gave us some ideas of where we could walk.
Lots of wildlife around the area.
Campfires are allowed.
Great value for money too!

Have always wanted to visit the “Dark Sky” Galloway Forest Park, so chose this site for its perfect location, value for money (£18pn) and availability during winter months.
The owner Andrew was easy to contact through email and allowed us to arrive later than expected with no hassle. He came to welcome us the next day, with a friendly chat and info on surrounding area.
We arrived in total darkness and woke to a lovely view towards forest and snow capped hills in the distance. With geese strolling about along side the van.
Facilities are basic, but the shower was hot and powerful (concrete floor/wetroom set up) great on a very cold February day. Has a washroom, recycling bins, drinking water supply, chemical waste and grey water disposal.
First night was cloudy but luckily second was perfect for some star-gazing!
Had the place to ourselves, which meant no hurried departure time too. Bliss.
