Eira (Owner)is so helpful, informative and friendly, nothing is to much trouble - the pitches are a very good size, flat and fairly even. Perfect location for seeing South Wales, be it shopping or seaside. Toilets and shower blocks are clean and rubbish is taken away twice a day. A very good location with good local amenities and the Welsh people/language are fantastic- thank you, Daren from Brackley (Northants).

I have to be honest that this site was a fourth choice as the sites closer to the sea were fully booked with all the good weather. However how happy am I now that they were booked and Our camp site was available! When I called the owner was charming and followed up the call with an e/mail with payment on arrival. Once we arrived we were offered a choice of pitches but chose to forgo an electrical pitch to set up camp near the stream that runs along one side of the site. What a great choice, If you want peace to relax in with the background noise of a babbling brook this site has to be for you. A great sound to go to sleep with and wake up to. All the pitches looked as good as any I have seen, nice and flat with good grass. A small word of warning for campers; some pegging will go perfectly smoothly but on other occasions you do need ‘rock proof’ pegs! But ‘on the site peg straightening’ is a small price to pay for paradise and probably good drainage!

Very welcoming in the local shops (a good Coop in the next village and excellent fish and chips in the next village) Very friendly campers and the owners (we met Eira and Rhys) were both friendly and very open to feedback to keep improving facilities. The facilities on offer were excellent in my opinion. Excellent but subtle lighting was provided on site as the sun went down, the toilets were always spotless as were the showers, the water nice and hot. A simple improvement would be hooks on the toilet doors. A small addition for a very well thought out and perfectly executed new site in its first full season. The result. I will be back, but this time it will be the number one choice!

We visited this site after the half term weather thwarted our plans elsewhere. Booking process was smooth - a quick phone call and we were emailed confirmation, along with directions to the site. It is just off a quiet A road c 20mims from the M4. Despite the proximity of the road, we barely noticed it during our stay. Beaches are about 30 mins away.

The site is well laid out, spacious, level and drains quickly (we certainly had the rain to test it!). Getting pegs in was a bit tough in some places, but nothing we couldn't work round. Security is good - coded barriers and coded entry for all the facilities. The showers, toilets and washing up room were spotless at all times. You can tell the owners take a real pride in their campsite - we arrived on bank holiday Monday after the heineken cup final, the site had been full all weekend but you wouldn't have known - it was immaculate everywhere.

With a field to kick a ball around and a stream to play in, our boys (13 and 10) were very happy. They borrowed some fishing nets and spent an afternoon designing and racing boats down the stream.

The owners were very friendly and very helpful with lots of advice on places to visit.

A peaceful, relaxing stay. We will definitely be returning

This site is one to visit! the best site we have visited yet. The lake is so picturesque ( not sure it has fish in it! no bites all day) but worth a second fish in case! well thought out site. Good points: separate shower to toilet block 2 disabled shower units and toilets very clean and well stocked;play area with football goal posts; lovely sheep all around who are polite enough to be quiet at night time and not nosily in the morning; easy access from good quality roads yet no road noise on the site!; close to lots of activities we went bowling, swimming, the beach and the best harvester pub we ever have visited!; the lake and bistro are friendly and easy to get to; the area has so much more the owner gave us a welcome pack on arrival with plenty of maps and help on how to get about, we found everything we wanted from it with out getting lost or having to ask. Can't wait to go back. Can't see why anyone wouldn't enjoy this park especially at the great value price.

Set in the valley Gifach Goch. Not in the usual tourist area but that's what we were looking for.

Cardiff and Bridgend were only 30 min drive away.

Close to the valleys of South Wales.

50m from the road but did not disturb us.

Pitches were of good size Farley flat and well drained

Toilet, showers and wash area were immaculate.

Campsite opened in June 213

The village has a coop and an other shop 3 min drive away or you can walk through the fields about 15 min walk.

Owners very helpful.

Will defo use this site again.

Campsite is lovely, facilities all new so faultless, except water could have been hotter

We used as one night stopover, which was ideal to break our journey, would I stay for longer?, probably not, its quite remote especially for a large motorhome, only because we like to walk or be on a bus route

Overall it was great for one night, very peaceful with all you need, I'm sure it will be a huge success, every effort is being put into it by the owners

Close proximity to a main rd is the only aspect that didn't appeal to me about this site. Only site we found in the area so turned up without booking to find we were the only campers there. Good price, few other campers, nice bar/bistro just up the lane in a nice setting. New facilities so all very clean but would have liked a stool etc in showers for clothes.

All in all good little site with nice walks and cycle tracks close by

We visited this lovely site on the day it received its 4 star rating and we are not a bit surprised. Each van has its own water tap as well as electric hook up and the toilet block is high spec. A river and rolling hills circle the site, which is level and though rural is within walking distance of a lakeside bistro where we dined in style on one our nights? We highly recommend the steak. We also had fish and chips from 'The Crispy Cod' delivered to the van on our first night. We had the oven ready for a reheat but it was piping hot - don't know how they did that - and all we can say is they really deserve to be an award winning fish and chip shop.

Blackmill is nearby and offers a well stocked shop/post office and 2 pubs. We had lunch in one and again impressed. No microwave food here- all home cooking and good prices.

There is a designer outlet a short drive away so great for retail therapy. Maybe not so much for children to do here.

We are returning in October for the Festival and really looking forward to it. A little gem of a site that will soon become very popular as it offers so much.

What a find this site is. In a lovely setting with a small river running to one side of the site, lots of trees and fields full of sheep but not far from beaches and major shopping venues. All grass pitches but the owners have put in lots of gravel underneath and even though we arrived after 2 days of rain it was perfectly firm underfoot. It’s newly opened and the toilets and showers are excellent and the washing up room has a fridge for campers to use and a washing machine very reasonably priced; also an electrical socket to use on a chargeable basis. The owners have provided washing up liquid, tea towels, wash up brushes and even some spare cutlery. Talking of the owners – what a lovely family! Very welcoming, happy to chat and provide local information; we felt like friends by the time we left. They have lots of plans for additional facilities to be added soon. It was quiet when we were there but don’t think this will last for long once others give it a try. All in all can’t recommend this site highly enough. We will definitely be returning.

A very short distance past the site entrance is a lake where coarse fishing is available and beside it is the Lakeside Café and Bistro. We had the Sunday Carvery. £7. 95 with each extra course costing £2. Absolutely superb, all genuinely home made with nothing out of a packet and provided by another great couple with friendly service. On the August Bank Holiday weekend they’re doing a hog roast, with entertainment and games/bouncy castle for the children. Wish we didn’t already have plans to be elsewhere.

Do try this site – you won’t be disappointed.
