What a great site! From the time that we arrived at the gate to check in to when we left, we were made to feel so welcome. We were given information on all of the things to do in the local area with walking tracks running beside the site. The site had opened three weeks prior and everything was still very new. The toilets, showers and laundry/wash up area were spotless and easy to access as well as heaps of hot water. WiFi is included in your site fee which a big plus for tourers working out their next stopover. Each site had its own water tap and power stand and all pitches were reasonably flat. There is a great creek running beside the site and would be great for children to play, but keep an eye on them as the water is fast moving compared with many other rivers. While talking to one of the owners, they mentioned that they will have a motorhome service point in by the next season which will be great. All pitches are grass with no hardstands. We had no problem with this, even after heavy rain the night before and with our motorhome at 4, 250kg in weight. This site will be very popular as people start to hear about it and are well worth the stopover.

We took a chance by trying out this 2 week old campsite and were very pleasantly surprised. Most of the weekend we had the camping field to ourselves, but I suspect this situation will change very rapidly as word spreads. The owners have really worked hard to create a pleasant campsite in very pleasant surroundings. The showers and toilets, as well as being brand new, were spotless. We found the site shielded from the main road by dense trees which minimized traffic noise. You do hear the stream and river running alongside the field. In the local village of Gilfach Goch there is a Co-op Store. On Saturdays a mobile butcher trades in the rugby club grounds. The campsite owners also sell their own butchered lamb (pre-ordered). We found the field to have good drainage with generous pitch spaces with each power point having a tap, making it very easy for motorhome users to fill up. TV reception and their WiFi was excellent. The owners also intend to offer lake fishing above the site at a small extra cost. A café and restaurant bar are beside the lake, which is a 10 minute walk from the campsite. We will definitely be returning as it is convenient for a weekend away from where we live. Thanks for a very enjoyable weekend and listening to our suggestions.

Just visited this excellent campsite. Toilets and showers new and very clean. Great location for walkers or cyclists as the cycle path runs by the campsite. Pitches are very spacious, lots of room between even with a car and awning. No playground as yet but there is a river running nearby which kids would probably enjoy. Dogs made welcome, must be on a lead as its a working farm with sheep around but this was fine for us. Small village nearby with chip shop, Chinese and a coop. Main shops are also just a short run by car either Llantrisant or Bridgend has lots of out of town shops both are just a 10 minute drive. The owners are very welcoming, I would recommend you give this site a try if you are in the area and looking for a quiet campsite. I will just mention that there is a road which is quite busy running by the front of the campsite but you can't see or hear too much of it as there are lots of trees in the way. Good mobile signal on Orange so the rest are probably ok. Sky dish works fine as well in this area.
