This is an acceptable site in a lovely area. There is plenty of space and the owner is working hard, when he has time, to improve things. The track to the site from the road is rather rutted and muddy, but some stone chippings have recently been laid which help. It's not a great distance from the road anyway.
The site now has hardstandings, but with the same sort of chippings, and as these are new, you may well need a tow in with the farmer's tractor, which he is more than happy to do. The grass is very wet at the moment (we are still here); some sort of path to the bins and water is needed. There are 2 bins which may be inadequate at bank holidays. Unfortunately the hardstandings have not been made quite wide enough so you will need to step on the grass when leaving your caravan.
Actual access from the road is fine, but getting to the site is a bit of a challenge, you either have to come around the northern ring road in Sheffield and then the A57, or use small, winding, hilly B roads. We came through the city which wasn't too bad.
Don't let any of the above put you off, it's a great area. There is an abundance of bird life, as it's near reservoirs and moors, there are plenty of walks in all directions (but take the car a short distance for most). Try the walk up to Stanage Edge from the end of the road at Redmires Reservoirs.
The no. 51 bus terminus is about a mile away in Redmires road, not far past here is a small parade of shops. There are more shops and a garage at Crosspool, about 3 miles away. 2 pubs within walking distance, and a golf course.
£11 per night which is fine.
