Very pleasant site with well spaced pitches. Managing the covid restrictions very well, I never had to queue for shower or toilets and both were immaculately clean.
Within easy reach of a multitude of activities from walking in the national park to enjoying the small market town of Thirsk.
The only negatives is that the showers went cold for a very short time whilst showering.

Great clean site. Very friendly owners. Well kept. Lovely location. Many lakes to fish in if that's your hobby.
Downside the ladies shower runs cold if someone is running water elsewhere.

We are not into fishing but we like Adult only sites and came for a peaceful break and because it was close to York.
I can say we were both incredibly impressed with the site just being out in the countryside amongst the trees and the birds.
The pitches were large and level and then the washing facilities were a real added bonus and very clean.
We would come here again.

Lovely site, very peacefully great fishing, well stocked tackle shop with cafe next door.
Sarah keeps all the on-site amenities clean and running well. For the none fishers there are great walks, and a fantastic beer garden just a short walk down the road, or just sit and relax, the distant sound of the trains passing, sheep and lambs, and birds the only distractions,
This was my 4th visit and we will definitely be going again.

What a great surprise this site was, very quiet adults only with views towards Sutton Bank a few miles away. We booked it as being the closest site to a foraging course we were doing at Taste the Wild 3 miles down the road. The pitches were as flat as a pancake most separated with a young but growing hedge. The single shower was really modern and very clean although perhaps one shower would not be enough if the site were full, however the is an ingenious light system so you can see if there is anybody in it without leaving your caravan which would save waiting around outside. Waste and chemical disposal facilities all looked new and again were very clean and hygienic. The only slight downside was the distance to the loo’s which were also shared by fisherman using the lakes.
The fishing lakes themselves were separated from the site by a large embankment covered in bushes and wild flowers, this looked really nice and gave the site privacy. All in all a great base to explore the surrounding countryside by walking or cycling, we would definitely use again.

This has been our 2nd visit to The Oaks this year already and have to say that this site is amongst our favourites.
Tom and Sarah are a lovely couple and were very welcoming. They work very hard to keep the site in excellent condition.
We had a very relaxing week with excellent fishing, and days out to Thirsk, York and Scarborough.
There are also local attractions such as Byland Abbey, Duncombe Park (brilliant!) and the White Horse cliff carving which we really enjoyed visiting too.
We would recommend this site for its central location and scenery, and for any enthusiastic anglers in search of first class match ponds!

Lovely quiet site, well maintained pitches, large hard standing pitches surrounded with grassed area's. Only a gents and ladies/disabled toilet block on site but are clean and well maintained. Well stocked lakes an anglers paradise with 10 Lakes to fish. Our second visit here and will not be our last.

What a great site!
With it being adults only, it was really quiet with beautiful countryside views. 10 fishing lakes all really well maintained and stocked.
The staff were very helpful and friendly, and Mary in the café is a star! Nothing was too much trouble for her and she gave service with a smile.
Although there are no showers, the toilets are spotlessly clean and well maintained.
Would highly recommend this site to anyone looking for peace, quiet and excellent fishing. Felt really sad having to leave, but already looking forward to going back!
