What a GEM this site is. Diana & Robert made us feel so at home. Fantastic price per night incl EHU @£16. 00.
Loved the little fridge with locally sourced butter, cream, orange juice & milk.
Loved also the boxes of different colour eggs! Lovely idea to have the Honesty box.
Younger children can arrange to feed the lambs.
Diana runs a tight ship with cleanliness of the showers & toilets. Maybe the addition of another couple of showers & toilets?
Lovely flat pitches, breath taking views.
We'll defo be back again.
Thanks for a great stay (even though hubster forgot to put in our poles for tent, daughter & I ended up travelling back home for them!)
If you've not stopped here - I recommend you do. Though you'll need to use your car, everything is a little way from the site.

Lovely people! The site is really well cared for, particularly the section for caravans overlooking the pond. Facilities are fantastic, really clean and supported by an honesty box for sales of bread, milk, orange juice, yoghurts etc.
There was even a power cut ( grid, not site issue) and Diane gave everyone a bottle of wine for the inconvenience. It wasn't even her fault! The only thing that could be improved is the separation of facilities from bats/balls etc. As they are all in the same barn, children would take the wet weather as an opportunity to play ball around the toilets in the dry. Whilst it didn't bother me too much, I imagine it could intimidate some, particularly if the teenagers were a little older.
We will certainly return. A great value, really pretty site.

We stopped here in April, we were recommended this site by my sister-in-law she stayed in her caravan and we camped, The owners Diana & Robert were fantastic could not do enough for us. On arrival it had been raining so they put us on the hard standing pitch overlooking the beautiful pond next to Linda, s caravan. The weather turned out to be really sunny for the rest of the week and we really enjoyed our stay. The toilets & showers were spotless, and there is bread, milk, eggs etc for sale where you place your money in the honesty box. The electricity went off one night not due to Diana or Robert as work was being done and they pre-warned us that it would be going off from 6-9pm so that we had electricity to cook before it went off. The views are lovely and it was really peaceful we enjoyed our stay so much we are going back next week, and taking our grandchild with us she is 9 and will love the animals. Thank-you Diana & Robert for making our stay really relaxing see you next week.

Our first camp for 2016. Humblescough farm provided everything we needed. Clean warm shower and toilet block. Washing up facilities under cover. Milk, eggs, butter, fresh orange, yoghurt all available and very reasonably priced. The owners were extremely likeable and helpful. Hook up available for our tent. Our children enjoyed feeding the lambs. Campfires allowed (wood provided at a small charge). Nearest shops within a few miles and country walks enjoyed meeting little traffic. Beautiful surrounding countryside and a safe area for children to play. Bats and balls available. Will undoubtedly visit again soon.

Just arrived home from our second visit here and already planning our next.
Made to feel extremely welcome by Diana and Robert, who both work extremely hard to maintain such high standards on their site and working farm, the showers and toilets are immaculate.
We stayed in our touring caravan on one of their well spaced 5 hard standing pitches, the views of the surrounding countryside lovely.
Quite a few tents in the little meadow camping field too, excellent sink and washing up facilities for the campers, lovely pots of flowers and so many little extra touches.
The only negative I would say is, (apart from 3 nights not being enough) that being our first season of caravaning, this site deters you from visiting other areas, you just want to keep returning, by far the best site we have stayed, ticks all our boxes.
Thank you again for another relaxing weekend,
Tricia and Phil

I stayed on the Humblescough Farm campsite last weekend as I was on a course in the area and didn't want to travel home at the end of a busy day. I have been to the campsite many times over the past year or so, usually with children as it is such a warm and friendly place with clean toilets and showers and the opportunity to have a little camp fire using the (loaned) fire pit. The children love to toast marshmallows and keep warm at night so the low cost of a bag of logs from the owners always goes down well. This time, it was just me and a nice glass of red wine as I watched the glorious sunset over the hills. The campsite is extremely dark at night so I also took the opportunity to chill out and gaze at the stars before bed (and the Kindle!)
The owners are very friendly and welcoming (they even helped me erect my borrowed and unfamiliar tent - thanks!) There is a little information shed next to the showers where you can choose from a range of leaflets about the surrounding area - shops, sites of interest etc. (and a range of camping magazines etc if you don't have a Kindle!) The chickens, ducks and sheep are full of character and are child magnets! The local area has loads of characterful pubs, nice restaurants and a great take away pizza place (as well as Chinese etc) Lancaster and Preston are both less than 30 minutes away. I thoroughly recommend the site!

We're new to camping and had our first experience here over the Bank Holiday weekend. Apparently it was the busiest they've been since opening and the loos and showers, which others have mentioned, were still immaculately clean and well presented. A true credit to the owners.
We didn't know what to expect from a camp site but Robert and Diana were both on hand to help, were extremely friendly and clearly are passionate about their site.
The location is fairly close to the A6 yet still so far away that the site is nice and isolated and gets pitch black at night - great for stargazers. There's no traffic noise at all. There is a Spar and a pub a very short drive away - some people who are not as lazy as myself might even walk or cycle.
We had such a great time that we were straight back there with our tent 2 weeks later. We hired a firepit and logs both times and it was great value. In fact, the first time we went they were so busy that they had run out of of fire pits but Robert went that extra mile and put his metalwork skills into action and handcrafted one for us for that very evening. If that's not great service then I don't know what is!

Great site spent 3 nights bank holiday weekend met by owner Diana who give us plenty of choice where we could pitch our tent big field with tents round edge leaving plenty of room for kids to play, toilets/showers spotless, bats balls on site to use games & books in information shed, owners Diana & Robert go out of there way to help taking my 8 year old to see the sheep & letting her hold the new chicks that hatched while we where there. Well worth a return visit.

We have just had a lovely Bank Holiday at this brilliant site £15 a night immaculate showers and toilets and including hook ups. Even though the area came within boiling water Diana & Robert did everything to help kept everyone with water going round everyone asking if they needed any and and bought bottled water to you they had boiled. Nothing was to much trouble for this lovely couple. We will be back but I'm not sure I should leave this review in case it gets to busy and we can't get on. They even hire out chimineas out for campers and had logs for fires. We sat in our caravan and watched the campers enjoy theirselves by there fires. There is also a separate 5 van C&CC with hard standing overlooking the lake :)

I wanted a bit of quality time with my son, away from the various screens & electrical entertainment he (and most children) are drawn to every holiday (and let's be honest, every waking moment nowadays). Although we've camped as a family many times it was our first venture into the great outdoors just the two of us so I didn't want to travel too far, I wanted to be in the countryside yet not too far from civilisation should the typical British weather do it's usual & open the heavens upon us. He only had 2 requests; a campfire and a playground.
My search led me to this site.
On arrival we found the site to be beautifully situated with lovely views, very well maintained and incredibly clean throughout. At the time there was one other tent just packing up & the ladies were full of praise for both the site and the owners.
After a quick look around Diana met us with a big smile, ran through the basics and showed us the large camping field. There were six electric hookups in the large field and we picked one tucked away in the corner, nice & sheltered from any wind with the hedges & overhanging trees.
It was lovely, my son had the run of the field and spent most of the time cartwheeling & throwing himself around, when he wasn't doing that we ran around playing badminton (well, attempting to). When he tired of the games we had taken he borrowed bats & balls and a football from the box of toys that are very kindly provided on site (thank you).
For the first day & night we had the place to ourselves, having purchased logs we set up a campfire using one of the pits they lend you (again, thank you) & had a fantastic time toasting marshmallows until it got dark. And it really does get dark! If you're camping in the field as opposed to the caravan hook ups then a torch is certainly needed, though the facilities have a security light which we were thankful for.
Speaking facilities, they were supremely clean! The 2 toilets looked clean, smelt clean & were very nice indeed, the hand towels were changed daily & everything was obviously kept in very good order. Both the shower rooms were exactly the same. Possibly this was partially due to the dry weather & lack of other campers but I think they are very well looked after. Having stayed at many sites & found facilities in all kinds of states this was a welcome relief!
All in all the site is very well run, the owners are both lovely, they have clearly put a lot of thought into peoples stay there and the farm is situated in beautiful countryside, I can't fault it. We both had a wonderful stay there.
We had such a good time running around the field & playing games my son forgot he had even asked for a playground! I was quite pleased I'd picked a site without one, had there of been I think my company would have been abandoned for a swing.
(For future reference should you need one, there's a small playground 5 minutes drive away in Garstang)
I must admit I was hesitant to leave a review (my first, so sorry if I rambled) purely for selfish reasons. As we had such a good time I am loathed to share this site with anyone else but it was so nice & friendly to keep it to myself would be an injustice. It's a hidden gem.
