This is an unspoilt and therefore undeveloped site in a large field with expansive open views. There is one portaloo cabin. The electric hook up points are widely spaced along the length of the fence bordering the field so it's a long walk from any pitch to the tap and even further to the black waste (access under heavy metal cover) but this is the price you pay for privacy and widely spaced pitches. You can always avoid dragging your toilet cassette across the field and into another field by stopping to empty it as you leave the site.
This is not a manicured site, it's a field. There is a hardstanding area available before the entrance to the grass pitches. There may be flies from the cow field next door. Bring wellies or at least ankle boots for the early morning dew or after rain as the grass is long. Enjoy the wonderful views, the birdsong, the rabbits hopping about in the evening and the quiet. We come here as the location is very convenient for visits to our relatives and shopping at The Trafford Centre.
It's perfect if you like to chill in what feels like a rural location but which is very near amenities like the local shop and pub. Very conveniently there are eggs and bacon for sale from the owner.

Not a very good CL I'm afraid, which is surprising as the reviews on the Caravan Club website are positively glowing. Perhaps it has gone downhill since. Anyway, we wanted to be in this area where there are not many sites.
It's quite easy to find, but not by the directions in the CC book. From the north, leave the M6 at J20 and take the road towards Knutsford. Turn left after about 2 miles, over 2 crossroads. The 2nd junction at Broomedge has traffic lights and the site is on the right immediately after here. There is a sign you will see advertising logs and coal for sale. The track to the site (and to the holiday cottages) could do with an upgrade to tarmac.
From/to the south, turn left at the traffic lights in Broomedge, a couple of miles to the big roundabout and turn right which is signed M6 south (junction 19).
The site owner was on holiday, didn't meet him, thought this was strange, considering that he is the holiday business. He replied to my initial queries promptly though. The site itself is plenty large and open enough, with a good view over Manchester to the distant hills, but the grass is over long. The CWD and water are a long way away and not very good. The price of 14 pounds per night is a rip off.
There is a Costcutter supermarket at the crossroads in Broomedge and fuel about a mile away towards Lymm (which is a pretty village).
The best thing by far, in our opinion, was Quarry Mill about 10 miles away at Styal (where the tv series 'The Mill' was made). It's a National Trust property, worth every penny if you are not a member. There is also Dunham Massey, about 4 miles away (too 'stately home' for us), and Tatton Park. Altrincham is the nearest town with plenty of shops.
