When I arrived I was told that the washing up area was delayed & had not yet been built, but I could use the toilet & shower block to do any washing up in. Well they certainly did not look very hygienic to do anything in. The shower head could have done with a clean. They had green slime around them. There was only one peg to hang things on. The toilet doors had loose locks. Broken toilet handles. The camping area was muddy. Certainly not well kept.
The site is in a very run down area. There is a lot of gunfire from the Lydd Army training camp.
The on site bar entertainment left a lot to be desired. The menu didn't have much vegetarian food available.
From a surreal point of view, Loopy the rabbit was entertaining. No sign of Cyril the squirrel & I was so looking forward to seeing him. Well kind of looking forward to seeing him!

We visited for a weekend with another family, using Sun £1 vouchers. It meant that 2 nights inc EHU and passes cost £16 for a family of 5. That's a real bargain.
The family we were with did not have a long enough EHU lead, and were lent an extension by the site, foc.
We were pleasantly surprised as I would not have chosen a site like this for preference. The facilities were very clean. As others have said, the shower cubicles were very small and it was difficult to keep your clothes dry as the shower filled the whole cubicle.
My only gripe was that the washing-up area was a very long way from the main touring field and the way to and from the touring field was not lit.
The pool was huge, 15m x 23m, which ime is very large for a private pool.
We were allowed to put up all manner of windbreaks and a gazebo in the middle as it was very windy and the two families ate together. We saw a few groups doing this. The pitches were not marked which was ideal for groups. It was quite windy, which is a feature of this part of the coast. When we booked in, they told us which way the wind normally comes from so we could pitch accordingly.
We didn't use the clubhouse, so can't comment about that.
It was great for children older than toddlers as there were two fields they could explore and the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch railway ran along the back of one of the overspill fields. There was a play area for children, too, but I didn't check that out.
We would definitely return.

This is a very good site, we arrived to a very friendly welcome, and we were quickly shown to our pitch, the site is very level and seemed to drain well after any rain. (not that we had much)
There was a lovely play park which kept our kids entertained for hours on end, and of course the park holidays entertainment was also nearby (ten mins walk). A short walk from the site was a burger van serving nice food at a reasonable price.
Toilet block was clean and never seemed too busy, however cubicles are small in both toilets and showers, and in showers have nowhere to put your clothes, if you want to keep them dry
The surrounding area is also great, the beach opposite is only worth visiting if the tide is out, alternatively a short drive to Dymchurch will see you at a sandy beach. We stayed a week and were never bored and will more than likely return

Just spent a extremely windy weekend at new beach. Its a lovely site, loads of room for the children with the play park. Entertainment was OK if you don't mind a 10 min walk to the main complex and swimming pool. Toilets and showers were most of the time clean. The only problem we found was location of toilet block and chemical disposal and washing up area - the washing up and chemical was was at the top end of the field but the only toilet and showers were at the bottom end, so quite a walk depending on what you need. Despite this we will be going back

This was our second stay here within 3 weeks. The first one was good so we decided to go again, and we will be going back!
Helpful staff, cheap(ish) drinks in the club house and good family entertainment. A new toilet/shower block has been built, but the cubicles are small, showers are good but no curtain so hang your dry clothes over the door. And stand back when you push the taps as they are so powerful they spray water everywhere. But these are the joys of camping!
The Neptune pub is a couple of mins walk and servers good food (sat is steak night).
There is no beach as is all large granite rocks due to sea defences, but Dymchurch is only a 5 min drive or you can walk it along the sea wall in under an hour.
My girlfriend and her friend used the indoor pool and had no problems.
As I said at the start we will be going back, as we have fun and don't take life to seriously,if you want the best of everything you maybe disappointed, but if like us you just want to get away for a few days and let your hair down then go and enjoy yourselves!

We have been to this site numerous times over the last 4 years, the staff are a always really helpful and polite.
The toilet blocks are clean tidy, the water is hot and the washing machines are conveniently located and not too expensive.
The last time we went they were building a new toilet block on the middle field.
We have had some trouble keeping our awning up at times sure to the wind.
For any steam train enthusiasts (like my 4 yearold son) will love this site as you can hear and see the romney, hythe and dymchurch train from the top field. My son has spent many an hour watching the trains go past.
My only down side to this site is the children's entertainment is on after the bingo, which its ok for older children but I have two little ones who want to see loopey rabbit and font understand why they have to sit quietly for the bingo and by the time loopey starts they are both ready for their bed.

I am a returning camper to this site. Firstly I must say the staff are amazing and extremely helpful.
The campsite is very well organised. The toilet block has electricty so you can pump up your air beds, straighten and dry your hair and even charge your mobile phone. The showers have lovely hot running water, although at peak times example early evening when everyone goes there for a shower, it can get a little cold.
There is a great cafe on site and a lovely little burger bar at the entrance to the campsite.
The pool is better than most camps but would be nice if there was a slide or something in it, but otherwise the kids love it.
The entertainment is good and so is the bingo. There are arcades for the children so you can have a drink and let the children wonder off safely into the adjoining arcades.
The nice beaches are about 10min drive away but when the tide is low you can go over to the beach which is opposite the site.
Overall a friendly atmosphere, ideal for families and is a lovely clean and well kept site. If you need any help with anything the camp site manager Paul will help out as much as possible, he is brilliant.

I stayed at this site to stop over for a night before using the Channel Tunnel. As a walker it was quite different from the type of site I'm used to, but it was handy due to its proximity to Folkestone.
On arrival I went to the warden's caravan to check in and he suggested I headed to the top field. The first field I passed through was absolutely rammed full of static caravans, normal caravans, motorhomes and tents, all literally a couple of feet apart from each other. There was some sort of party going on and music was being played loudly through a PA system.
I drove down to the top field and managed to find a reasonably quiet spot, where the next tent was a couple of metres away, rather than a couple of feet.
The ground was flat and easy to peg into. It was a five minute walk back to the toilet block, which was one of the largest I've seen and reasonably clean.
In the evening I popped into the club house, where there was cheap beer and a tribute act playing. There was an amusement arcade and fast food takeaway, and many other amenities which I didn't use.
On the whole, the site suited my needs by being only about a 15 minute drive from the Channel Tunnel, but I wouldn't want to stay there for more than one night.

We spent 7 nights at New Beach June/July '10 in the touring park area.
Small shop on site. All other facilities good. Use of indoor pool at the holiday park area, as well as their shop, cafe, bar for entertainment.
Good long walks along seafront, which is just across the road. Bus service from outside the park to plenty of resorts and areas.
Dymchurch itself is a 5min bus ride away and has a small beach, children's fun fair, cafes and shops - very pleasant. Handy site for Dover-Calais ferries.
Quite busy place - lots of tents and tourers, but not a noisy site. Can recommend.

We have just returned from a short break at this site from Sunday to Tuesday. We booked in with another family who were also in a tent. The first thing we noticed was that there was nowhere to park your car when reporting to the touring reception. The lady receptionist was very nice and a very helpful chap on a quad bike took us to our pitches in the top field, as we had booked non-electric hook-up pitches. Thank goodness! The lower serviced field was jam packed with caravans, motor homes and tents and they were packed in so close together it would be difficult to get a cigarette paper between them.
We were quite pleased to see the top field not only had less tents, but there was a large space for the kids to run around and play ball games. The field had quite a bit of litter spread around and the large wheeled refuse bin in the middle of the open space at one end had not been emptied for some time.
The (new?) toilet block was in the lower field and was very basic. There was a smell of urine in the gents and the ladies left a lot to be desired. There were red fire points around our field, but when we looked inside, they were empty, save for more rubbish.
Our kids joined with other kids from our field and had an enjoyable game of football. On the second day, another chap arrived on his quad bike, towing another wheeled refuse bin which he dumped right in the middle of the field, totally preventing the kids playing football. When we politely asked if the bin could be moved to the side so the kids could play, he abruptly said, 'That's where it goes and that's where it stays.' As soon as he was gone, everyone pushed the bin to one side and the kids resumed their game.
The washing up facilities were quite a walk from the top field. In the lower field there was a puddle of water next to the water tap and right in the middle was an electrical box with a warning 'danger - XXX volts'. The electric cable disappeared into the puddle. Surely an unsafe spot for any kids playing in or near the puddle.
The site is large and very busy and consequently does not create a camping atmosphere which met our expectations. If you are in a tent or motor home, ask for the top field which was somewhat of an oasis in an otherwise unpleasant experience.
