This is our 2nd visit here. We come here because its close to where we live, so ideal for a weekend break. Very close to Deal, Walmer and Dover Castles and Dover ferry ports. A trip to Fowlmead country park is a must if you have kids and dogs. It has one of the best play parks in the area. You can rent bikes and there's a cafe.

The pitches all go round in a circle around the field, about 30 pitches, this makes it child friendly as all the kids play together in the middle. The rope swing is no longer there. They are still advertising a children's playground. We came here last year and there wasn't one here then or now. They should remove this from their advertising as this was one of the main reasons we came the first time. Also they still have up their sign post for it outside reception.

Shower and toilet blocks were nice and clean. The ladies toilets near the camping field has no bins inside, really this should be a must. We showered at night, so no waiting. The distance from the door to shower is good so your clothes don't get wet. Could use a few more hooks though.

They have a pool, but no life guard and was busy. Pub/cafe is good size and decor nice. They often have evening singers. They have a small kids club during peak periods. Playing rounders, bead making, nature walks etc. We didn't take our kids to this as they were happy to play outside with the other children. The Bar is pricey!Glad to see that they sell milk, bread, bacon, sweets etc. We didn't need any so cant comment on prices. The pool is free.

The bins by the campsite didn't get emptied at all, which ended up over flowing and lots of mess on the floor. More bins are cleary needed if they cant get emptied daily.

By booking on their website you normally get a 25% discount. We arrived and they lost our booking. Staff were not very friendly, it took 2 people to find us a space, even though we already booked and had a pitch number. They then tried to over charge us. I would recommend when you book ring up a few days before to check your booking, and also on the day. They seem to frequently over book.

Over all its child friendly and safe.

When we arrived, it was very busy for the bank holiday jubilee celebrations. Our booking had been lost, and the effort to book in on arrival was a farce - after much searching, they eventually found the booking, but attempted to charge us another £30 more than we agreed. After haggling, this was reduced to £5 extra.

The site was extremely busy, and on the first night - music and noise was pumping from areas all over the site. This went on all night, with no attempts from the wardens to stop it. The site was quite clean, and had very good facilities for kids. They had morning and evening activities, and the swimming pool is an excellent size.

After it got less busier, the wardens and others were a lot friendlier. There was an excellent band playing in the bar - and we had lots of fun. The toilets are adequate, and the area is in a good location - close to Dover, Canterbury, Margate and other places.

A bit of work on the customer service, and more improvement on the booking system, would make the site much more attractive.

Stayed here for 7 nights - found site ok but not great. The first problem I had is that we were charged as two separate holidays, we got charged as a weekend and a midweek break instead of the cheaper weekly rate, when I asked to be refunded the difference they just kept telling me to come back tomorrow until the day before we left when they finally decided that they don't give refunds

The site has statics in one field and tents in another electric hook-ups around two sides the field was a really good size and fairly flat,

Lots of room for children to play, given a key for the loo block which was a little messy at times but had lots of hot water. Laundrette was expensive and didn't get clothes clean after 2 washes so wouldn't use one again.

Swimming pool was very nice to use and made the holiday, it is really in need of repair, the roof has many missing panels and the guttering was broken and sent water into pool area. Bingo in evenings in clubhouse kept the children amused and had a welcoming atmosphere.

Would use again if I can't find anywhere else because it was so run down. Easy trip into Deal for supermarket surrounded by lovely but very, very smelly countryside

All in all mixed feelings about the holiday as only our second camping experience, our boys aged 5, 7 and 9 had a great time.

We found this site by chance when doing a Google search and did not know what to expect. When we arrived we could not believe our luck.

This is one of the cleanest and best keep sites we have ever stayed on. With really friendly and helpful staff who go well beyond the call of duty to help in any way they can.

The site has modern clean toilet and shower block which is cheeked and cleaned throw out the whole day. There is a lovely warm indoor pool and also a great club house’ Some work is going on at the moment to what looks to be a restaurant (Did not affect our stay in any way and would love to see it when it is open)

We would most definitely visit this site again and would recommend it to other campers. A good tip for this site is to book online as they offer a good online discount.

Sutton Vale is currently having some extensive refurbishment to the 2 main bars which are nearly finished and when they are it is going to look fantastic! Childrens play park has now been removed as they are having a new one put in at the sports field. Also there are new toilet blocks which are being fitted closer to the sports field where the tourers and tents are now situated. No tourers or tents are now in the field with the static caravans nor are they next to the club house by the cess pit and rubbish bins. The swimming pool has had a re-paint and is also having new changing facilities fitted with toilets as well. Once all of this work is finished its going to look great! Lovely park, very welcoming staff and good entertainment. Oh and the new function room looks lovely too! Defo recommend this park

We stayed here for a weekend in mid August of 2010. We were given a pitch on the large field which has clearly marked pitches for tents.

The main downside to the site for us (with a 1 year old and a 3 year old) was that the toilets are right next to the motorhome pitches, which was a good ten minute walk for a child. Leading to a few minor mishaps for my little ones.

The swimming pool was ok. Nothing great (and not as nice looking as the pictures on here and the website) and the changing rooms were very small and only two of them, and they didn't have locks on the doors.

Big Tesco Superstore only a few miles away too which was great for stocking up on essentials.

Overall we had a good time but wouldn't stay longer than a night or two

This site is mostly for static units, but has a few spaces for campers. On one night, we had a pitch by the loos, on another a pitch in a sort of square surrounded by static units.

We just used this site as it is handy for Dover - we stayed before and after using the car ferry. We probably wouldn't choose to stay here for more than one night at a time, although it is perfectly welcoming.

There is no shop within walking distance that we could find.

We thought the bar was grim and didn't linger, although the staff were friendly enough.

There are lots of children (and some dogs) playing everywhere, so drive carefully here!

And the roads leading to the site are very narrow, so this is something to be aware of too.

We visited this site again, as it is far enough away to be a holiday but only an hour away from home.

We like the site for its swimming pool and simple club with Bar, pool and entertainment on saturday nights.

The main issues with this site are the access road in is narrow. If you are not on pitches 1 to 4 it is a walk to the toilets and showers. There is a take away service for food at the bar which is kids friendly, so when the wife forgot the potatoes I was able to get a portion of chips.

It is nice and local for Dover castle, Walmer and Deal Castle. Canterbury and Howletts is only half an hour away or Margate for the beach. Romney, Hythe and Dymchruch railway or Port Lyme to the south.

We would visit it again.

We stayed here for three nights over the bank holiday. Facilities (swimming pool and entertainment) were excellent. They offer a breakfast service from 9.30 to 10.30 which lots of people used but we didn't as we usually went offsite on day trips before this.

There was one downside- the fact that they had only one sink for tourers to use to wash up. This didn't however cause us a problem but you could imagine that in busier times it would be a bit of a pain.

Staff were extremely friendly and Lisa and Leza were great.

No shop on site but they aren't far from a Tesco but some people found this to be a problem. The local pub 1000 feet away is lovely.

Food (and I say this having not tried it) on site looked unappetising but the food at the pub looked very nice (even though both are run by the same people). I think it's more to do with presentation at the end of the day, the site food is snack / pub grub and the pub food is more restaurant quality. We didn't try either I have to say but I thought I'd mention others did and they agree.

Our pitch had an electric hook up but these (7 only) were located next to the septic tank! not a great thing to wake up next to. Also the entertainment hall is very close to this section so don't expect to get an early night.

However all in all the site with it facilities - swimming pool and entertainment was great and we are going back but will stay on the 'games field' with no electric hook up and as far away from the septic tank as possible.
