Poor toilet facilities on the Lakeside pitches.
Rock pegs needed very difficult to get pegs in.
Chemical waste facilities were the disabled toilet although this has now been changed to the CL Field but quite a walk form the 2 owners Lakeside Pitches.
Very small pool. No Wifi or phone signal Lovely fishing lake nets provided. Very quiet site. About half an hours drive from Bude. Very Good Customer service however wouldn't use again.

Management response: Thank you for your review and for the direct feedback after your stay with us which is very helpful for us to improve the facilities on our site. Unfortunately in this case no concerns were raised during the stay and therefore we were not given an opportunity to rectify anything that was not as it should be.
Our lake view pitches have electric hook up, individual water connection and grey waste. Within a few yards there are both disabled and standard toilets and we understand that the main concern was that a pane of frosted glass on each toilet door did not provide absolute privacy. Although nobody else has ever mentioned this as a concern, as a result of this feedback we have now obscured the glass further to overcome this problem. To make it as easy as possible for our guests we gave people the option of using one of the toilets to empty their chemical waste to save walking to the main emptying point which is approximately 100 metres away. We always ask people to leave the toilets clean and tidy and we check the toilets twice a day to ensure that they are kept spotlessly clean. We hope that UK Campsite website visitors will see from all our other reviews that this is the case.
We advise people to use rock pegs because both the lake view pitches are all weather hard standings and we have a supply of rock pegs available if people come without their own. In our experience people who know they will be staying on hard standing will usually pack appropriately.
However, we do need to correct two factual inaccuracies within this review. First, there is definitely free WiFi to both pitches and on the main CL. Occasionally the system has to be reset but we weren't made aware of any issues by any of our guests during the reviewer's stay. Generally mobile networks work well here, but there are a couple of providers (including the provider used by the reviewer) that have yet to provide good coverage for this location - something which is obviously beyond our control but we can offer advice if people ask when they make a booking.
The indoor heated swimming pool measures 9m x 4.6m which for a small site like ours, with only 8 lodges and a small CL, works really well. It can get busy during school holidays but we generally find that guests are considerate of other people and organise their time so that everyone can enjoy the facility which is, after all, a rare thing to find on a CL. Use of the swimming pool and coarse fishing on the lake is free of charge for our caravan site guests and represents great value for a family of four who may be paying as little as £16 per night including electric hook up, awning and dogs.
We consider all feedback very seriously and take action if we think we can improve what we offer. We hope that our guests see this demonstrated and understand that it is our aim to ensure that all our guests have a happy holiday at Blagdon Farm. |

We stayed at Blagdon Farm on probably the wettest weekend possible! But it did not matter our hosts were so warm and welcoming. This is without doubt the best CL site I have ever stayed on the facilities are second to none.
They have a swimming pool (open between March and October), a cosy friendly bar, a fantastic lake to walk around with picnic tables dotted around.
There were three hard standing pitches (2 overlooking the lake) all within easy access of fresh water, grey waste etc. We had a lovely walk around the quiet lanes. We are bird watchers and saw a buzzard in the trees close by and was over the moon to see a Twitter feeding on the seed heads. The showers are clean with lockers you can leave your wash bags in.
We will definely be returning to this wonderful CL.

Great little caravan site with all facilities including swimming pool, fishing lake and bar - which is open a few nights a week. Very welcoming hosts who provided us with great site and local information.
Certainly worth a visit if you are looking for a peaceful stay but with everything provided. We will certainly return.

Well what can I say, we needed a site to visit friends nearby, and what a surprise this site was. The owners were so friendly, we had a lovely welcome on their day off.
The showers and toilet facility are spotless.
My husband loved the fishing, and there is a little bar and swimming pool on site too.
Best cl site ever.
Only gave a 7 for location as we are motorhomers.

Just returned from a great week at Blagdon Farm. Facilities are excellent, and the location is very tranquil. Pitches are well spaced. The swimming pool was lovely and warm, and the games room is well equipped. We did not make use of the fishing lake, so can't comment on that.
We will, no doubt return.

The Best small touring park that I have ever used, its got the lot. I shall return in the very near future. Its got everything, a small swimming pool that's ideal for the disable, showers and toilets that were always clean and again disable friendly and the owners could not do enough for you, all in all a very pleasant stay

Wow! This is the 'CL' to top all CL's.
How many CL's have you been to that has :-
A Swimming Pool
A Fishing Lake
A very select Bar
Beautiful walks around the lake
In June it is TOTAL peace and tranquillity
A well cared for Dog Walk
A Children's Play Area in the making
All the required facilities ie fresh Water and waste disposal all in pristine condition
Add a pair of welcoming, cheerful, helpful, go the extra mile owners all set in the middle of Beautiful Devon on the Cornish border.
If you know of anywhere similar, please let me know, I would like to compare them - After I have been back to Blagdon Farm to check out I wasn't dreaming!

Fantastic site, owners very welcoming and were very quick to sort out any problems. Fishing lake was very well maintained as were all of the grounds and facilities. Within easy reach of supermarkets and pubs but very secluded. Excellent if you have children as swimming pool looked very inviting. Will definitely return.

Just got back from 4 day break on the CL site. Very friendly staff, immaculate everywhere and will definitely go back.
Fishing was great and its very peaceful lakeside. Great location to explore Devon and Cornwall.
The Garden centre (about5 miles away) has the best fishing section I have seen in years!
