We paid a return visit to the Harriers for my birthday last weekend 23/24/25th,
Although the site itself hasn`t changed the new owners are working hard at revamping the pub first, the kitchen is up and running again and although we didn`t partake, the food looked delicious.
There was an event at nearby Dunsfold Park on the Sunday so the pub opened for breakfast at 9am which was good of them.
There are no restrictions as to all male or all female parties etc and so far there has never been any bother on that score since i`ve been visiting.
Toilet facilities are open 24/7 but take your torch at night as you have to cross the lane which is hardly used anyway.
There are no shops within walking distance so take your essentials with you.
I`d recommend this site for couples and lovers of real ale who like to get away from reality for a few days.

My wife and I have just paid a return visit to this site and I`m glad we did.
The pub interior has had some alteration and I`m happy to say that the kitchen has reopened and judging by the number of patrons they seem to have got things right (well done Julie & Colin!).
The Gents toilets have been upgraded and the access door is now open to (male) campers 24/7,
Due to its location there are no shops within walking distance but there are convenience stores along the main A283 so maybe you should get your essentials before you arrive.
Once again this site is an ideal escape from reality especially if, like me, you like real ale and friendly banter , Thanks again to Julie for her hard work in the kitchen and to Colin for keeping a decent pint and to the staff for their friendly manner, long may it continue , we shall return!

Because of the refurb, I was warned when booking that the pub would be closed Thursday, but the constant hammering went on until midnight that evening ! (Thanks guys !) A JCB and earth moving trucks added to the aural ballet ! Thursday there were less than a dozen people under canvass, but the bog'n tooth brush queue was a problem and much worse on Saturday. 'Facilities' is an overstatement. 1 x WC / 1 x handbasin / 1 x shower, (which has seen better days !) The well kept lawn is the size of two tennis courts. It would only be 25 pitches if everyone had a two man dome. 'Yes, we have a few pitches left' means 'look elsewhere.' (There's nothing for the kids here !) A flotilla of soccer moms in 3 MPV's rolled up on Friday afternoon, and despite booking ahead, there was not enough room for the tents plus the 'goalposts' -(I kid you not!)- so they moved on. A similar sized group arrived and eventually crammed half a dozen tents into a small space between the car park and someone elses guy lines ! (There's nothing for the kids here !)
Whingeing aside - this site would suit couples who don't have a tent the size of Deep Space 9, or possibly multi bikers who enjoy a pint of real ale or nine, followed by some outdoor relief.
I realise the noise was a one-off, and the little darlings had just broken up that week, so I will, despite my rant, be supping at the Merry Harriers again. Good luck with the pub - Colin, Tom, George etc.

I cannot fault this site at all, each time we have visited we were made to feel welcome, The pub has new owners who have plans to improve the facilities.
It`s a lovely place to escape from the real world for a few days and if, like me, you`re a real ale fan, this is the place to be, can`t wait to go back there.

Contrary to earlier reviews it would appear that the pub has changed hands & no longer serves food so if you are without transport it is a good few miles to the next pub. The site has one unisex toilet & shower. Lovely quiet spot though with flat pitches, well maintained & ample parking.

We (2 adults + 1 5yr old) stayed here over the May Bank Holiday 2008.
Firstly, we were relieved to see the site was well drained and not overcrowded, the site was basic with no electirc hook up or set pitches (choose your spot!). The site itself is a well kept field (lawn style)approx 150*150 ft, surrounded by trees for shelter, and is situated across the (rarely used) country lane from the 'Merry Harriers' pub (that owns the site).
The landlord was very accomodating and walked us around all the facilities, the pub serves good food and ale, drinks are allowed to be brought out to the site and bbq's were ok by the landlord. We were pleasantly suprised to see that despite it being the bank holiday, we were 1 of only 5 people on site. Lovley and peaceful, plenty of room for kids to play. There are swings in the pub garden for the kids use and football/frisby ect was allowed on site.
We were charged £4/person/night.
Around the back of the pub, accessed by a side track (well, 20 feet of gravel up a bit of a hill) there are male and female toilets. The ladies incorporate a washroom and are left open 24/7, as is the shower, which gives 8mins for 50p. All facilities are in adaquate condition with working lights/shaver point/mirror ect. I regret to say I'd class the facilities as unsuitable for disabled/elderly people, due to the steps which access the toilets.
It was lovely and quiet. Only quibble being on the last night at about 11pm we were woken buy some 'merry harrier type characters' returning to their tent from the pub, deciding to play the car stereo on the way. But a quick call to the landlord resulted in an immediate polite request, and 2 minutes later, a not so polite request, (where landrovers and tow ropes were mentioned!) which seemed to do the trick. I would and will return to this site without a shadow of a doubt.
All in all, very well ran site, no mess, nice quiet area, choose your own pitch, toilets, booze, shower, shaver, food, frisby & footy. Who'd want more on a short weekend break!

This location is , in my opinion, a great little `out of the way` retreat if you want to get away from the rat race.
It is located in the middle of nowhere down a country lane, which is great if you want to unwind, the site itself is across the road from the pub.24hr toilet and shower facilities are available to the rear of the pub.
The pub itself has, I think, a warm and friendly atmosphere serving real ale and food in the daytime. I shall definitely visit again

The site is very basic/simple BUT is kept in lovely condition and very tidy. Facilities are based are over the road (a quiet country lane really) behind the pub and are perfectly adequate. The pub itself was very welcoming and friendly, with a good selection of beers and food (the ploughmans, apple pie and ice cream, and a pint of Addlestone's Cloudy Cider being my personal highlights!). The surrounding area is beautiful with plenty of areas to explore. The pub has maps for you to peruse or you can buy a 5 mile set of directions for a whole 50p - we did this particular walk and recommend it - particularly if you finish it in the pub afterwards with a well deserved pint! If you're a fancying a 1-2 night stay and the weather's right - you can't go far wrong with this place.

This campsite is basically a tiny lot across the road from a pub. The pub is run by some not too terribly helpful people, and upon arrival you get a general feeling of unwelcome along the lines of the yanks in "American Werewolf in London".
The site is fine for passing through, but the locals and pub regulars are clearly not pleased to have visitors. It is NOT at all child-friendly, as previously mentioned by another reviewer, not just for its proximity to the road, but also for its slightly unsavoury feel.

August 2004 A nice level field and easy to get to. Ideal for back packers or for a one or two night stop. The toilet and shower are across the road behind the pub and are clean but not suitable for disabled or young children as they would be expected to cross a road to get to them. Dogs are allowed. The pub is friendly and serves nice food and is not over the top, and for £3 per person per person it is good value.
