An excellent campsite with a mixture of open grass fields and shaded woodland - approx. A 70%-30% split. The site is run by Jen and Larry who were always very helpful and friendly, as were their pet labrador and cat.

The site is very much managed in a trusting and non-invasive manner, which made for a relaxing atmosphere and a nice change from having a list of rules to digest as at other sites.

The pitches are large and undefined and there was no sense of overcrowding even when it filled up at the weekend. Fire pits and BBQs were available to use at no extra cost, as were spare blankets if required when the nights turned chilly.

The facilities were very good with showers, toilets and washing-up areas being spotless. A small hut on-site served as an information hub and provided details of countless walks in the area.

Also available was a small shop that stocked a wide range of essentials from freshly laid eggs & milk, to marshmallows & beer/wine (essential companions for the fire pits).

The site is well positioned to explore Suffolk and we particularly enjoyed the coastal fringe, while Felixstowe provided a typical British seaside resort setting.

We have camped here quite a few times. It's is by far the best campsite ever. The facilities are superb and the shower/toilet block need to be seen to be believed. Blankets and sleeping bags available as well as hot water bottles if you need them. Insect repellent and various creams are in the shower block if you need them. Fire pits and chimneas and bbqs all

There for you to use. The beautiful elephant barn with fridge and freezer and phone charging point. Owners Jen and Larry are so friendly, along with the gorgeous Scooby.

Camping is either in the Christmas trees or on the open field. An information hut is full of stuff for you to use. Maps and walks and books.

We now have a caravan and as they only have tents we won't be able to return. Although I am sooooo tempted to just buy a little tent to tuck in the boot of the car.

What a lovely site and in a beautiful area too. I was touring by motorcycle and stayed for 1 night but would definitely consider staying for longer if I came again. On arrival I was given a very friendly welcome and told to choose my own pitch. The toilets and wash facilities are very modern and are kept spotlessly clean. This is an idyllic, peaceful location with a pretty village nearby and a pub with great atmosphere serving excellent food. I would definitely stay here again if I was visiting this part of the country.

I don't often give 9/10 for a camp site, even really good ones normally get an 8. But this is unique.

The site is fantastical located for exploring Suffolk and the site itself is located in a quiet valley with a good choice of pitches and a couple of characterful cabins. We chose to pitch in the field.

The pitches themselves are not limited to the size of tent only by the spaces in the woods or the field, they are generally flat and seem well drained (dry during our stay). The facilities are lovely; great showers nice decor, plenty of hot water and clean. There are great touches such as insect repellent in the toilet block, fresh salad and eggs for sale (proceeds going to charity). An information hut, free fire pits and bbqs so you just pay for what you use. There is also a communal covered area with a fire and BBQ you can you and the free to use fridges, freezer and phone charging points. Although there is very little phone signal and no wifi, what a blessing.

Jen is really lovely, but her presents is low key and the site is run on trust.

The local pub, the fox, is very walkable across the fields (20mins) and is good value and the food is reasonable, the sister pub, the maybush, also quite walkable (40mins) and has lovely views. There are lots of great walks in the area and it was fab for the dog.

We had the most relaxing time and limiting groups, only tents, plus adults only made it very friendly.

The only observations I do have is that the grass wasn't collected when it was cut so in the mornings it stuck to your shoes and trailed in to the toilet block. Also there were no hooks by the basins to hang your shirt when shaving. But these are simple things and we will be going back and telling friends.

The site I ideal if you want to get away from it and chill so may not be for everybody.

 WOW what a great site

We came for a 3 night stay and wished we could stay longer, anyway the campsite is first class the best toilets and showers we have seen EVER on a site, you can choose your pitch in the field or in the woods and then pitch your tent go borrow 1 of their barbecues and a fire pit, if your cold at night they have clean blankets and sleeping bags if you need them(clean&fresh) shower gel in the toilets, soap as well, washing up liquid at the basins, they have thought of everything.

And just a mile from the site is a great pub with good service and reasonable prices the beach at Felixstowe is only 6. 9 miles away

Tesco extra 4miles away

And the site has printed out a load of walks with a map for your dog or if you want to visit all the little pubs around then there are maps for that as well

All in all the best site we have been to and we would recommend it to couples who like peace and quiet who like camping but like their luxuries.

First time 'glamping' but what a wonderful experience.

Have stayed at woodlands campsite before in a tent and so had already experienced the laid back uncrowded atmosphere, just the right amount of facilities and fantastic shower block.

But what a treat this time.

A short walk through the wood brings you to the cherry tree cabin, with a view from its decking across a watermeadow.

It is tastefully decorated with a great little kitchen set up, bbq, comfy indoor and outdoor furniture and useful fixtures and fittings.

So if the thought of sitting outside a pretty little cabin with twinkly lights around whilst feeling the warmth from the logs on your built-in firepit and enjoying the view with your loved one appeals then this peaceful, atmospheric and romantic place is for you.

My Husband and I originally visited this lovely Campsite in May when we went for a weeks break away from it all. We were looking for somewhere that was Adults only and somewhere we would be allowed a fire. Also if we could have a pitch in the Woods it would be ideal. When I came across Newbourne it ticked all of the boxes.

We live 180 miles away but it is definitely worth travelling to.

The Shower facilities are better than some Hotels I have stayed in. There is Plenty of Free Hot water and Toilet Roll which made a nice change as you usually have to pay for such things.

There is no Wifi or in fact phone signal which makes for a very relaxing get away from it all.

There is a no noise after 10pm Policy which for us was great.

Whilst we were there a lovely Cabin was being built and we watched with great interest as it progressed. We were lucky enough to spend last weekend in the very Beautiful and tranquil Cherry Tree Cabin.

It had all of the benefits of camping but with a comfy bed and roof over your head. We thought it would be ideal for anyone who loved the idea of camping but doesn't like the idea of sleeping on an airbed.

There is a built in firepit which my Husband loved. There is also a BBQ for you to use and you can buy wood and BBQ bricketts from Jen and Larry the campite owners.

The cabin has a veranda and has chairs and a table so you can look over a beautiful view of the field and trees opposite.

We brought our camping kitchen and parafanalia with us and it was like a home from home.

There are cups, Glasses, Plates, Cutlery and BBQ Utensil provided as well although we did not use them. You need to bring your own sleeping bag/Pillows with you. There are 2 single beds which can be pushed together or not if you wish to have them separate.

Although the campite is in the woods there are some pitches that are on grass so if you are not keen on wooded areas you can chose not to stay in them.

The location is good being within a half an hour drive from Ipswich or Felixtowe so you can stock up on all of your essentials or go to the Seaside for Icecream.

All in all a lovely site and we will be back again soon :-)
