We visited Tax Farm in March 2016. The site is basic but excellent. The views from the pitches are fantastic, take a look at their website and you will see what I mean. The photographs of the pitches and views are 100% accurate - no crafty camera angles, just honest images. We will be using this site as our local regular weekend away this year. Each pitch has its own water supply and grey waste disposal, along with EHU, so if you have the necessary pipework and adaptor kit, you can connect your water and drains directly. There is also a toilet waste disposal point on each level. It is a good walk to and from the local pub, 2-3km with some steep sections, but to be honest, we were quite happy to stay on the site.

What a lovely site we found to visit. We travelled from Norfolk to stay for 7 nights and arrived to a beautiful location. The weather was very wintery infact snow! But we managed with no problems at all. Good hard standing pitches with everything we needed. Views were lovely, and Matlock is very easy to get to, just around 3 miles away.
The site is a working farm but we were welcomed with our dog, there was even an allocated poo bin especially for dog owners which was nice to see.
Views even in Winter are spectacular, we looked over the valley and at night could see the distant lights of what we think is Matlock, very pretty.
Would we return? Absolutely yes!
Owners very friendly but at the same time happy to leave you to enjoy your holiday in peace.
Roll on the next Peak District holiday! Keep up the good work :)
Mr & Mrs Lemmons and Bonnie the dog!

One of the best CLs we have visited. Terraced hardstandings where each unit has its own water and drain, with toilet points on each level with eco fluid available if needed. Fantastic views of sunsets and cloud scapes. Having large dogs the nearby forest walks were great. Be aware of the cattle grids down the lane- they seemed only partially filled in when we visited.
I was very impressed by both the website and map/walk info given by the owner who was very helpful. As a fairly new site the hard standings were wearing in well. The slopes are steep and need care, the working farm traffic does wear the access to this site.
Well done Tax Farm.

What a gem.
We have just spent a long weekend on this little CL. The owners are so helpful. We have a large 5th Wheeler and they went and measured the pitches and made sure we could get on before we booked.
Do follow the given directions! The roads are busy and narrow with parked vehicles.
For a CL the facilities are luxurious. EHU, water, and waste for each pitch. Waste and chemical disposal on each tier. Do what it says on the tin and make sure you know which tier and pitch you are on before arrival. There is limited turning space if you get it wrong.
The views are amazing, even in the rain and when it stops raining the sunset is breathtaking.
The footpath walks to the waterfall and the other way into Two Dales are steep and there is plenty of water, but unspoilt woodland walks are worth the effort. If you walk to Two Dales the Whitworth Institute over the road has beautiful grounds and a lovely terrace coffee shop serving breakfasts and light lunches, you're also supporting a worthy cause. Wouldn't recommend the pub restaurant on the front though!
Easy drive to both Matlock and Bakewell. Haddon Hall is well worth a visit. We caught the well dressings at Rowsley and Bakewell. The little Peak Train is good as well if it's running.
Lots to do and see, or you could just sit and unwind watching the farm working around you - there's some serious equipment up and down, my husband loved it.

Great little 5 cl site
Great pitches with water tap and grey waste
We went for the weekend with 2 dogs, we loved the walk down to the water fall, and found a cave and just love exploring all the paths at the bottom of the farm.
After getting back up the hill lovely to have a drink and bar-b-q
Such a quiet site we will be back.
See you soon.

Little corner of bliss, tucked away in the Derbyshire countryside, fantastic retreat for the weekend just wish I could keep it secret. Each pitch has own water tap and grey water waste so no need to mess about with aqua roll or waste master, if you don't already have one get the water connection required for your van and a 4 or 5 meter length of waste pipe and the rest is history,
On each of the two tier are points for chemical toilet disposal along with rubbish bins it does not get any more convenient !
Getting there is fairly simple but do try and approach from the north of the site past Darwin forest country park otherwise there are some steep roads to conquer !
Once one site you will marvel at the view across the valley to the west and the setting sunset.
Just a short walk from the farm drive is a wonderful walk down to natural waterfalls and dams, on from there is the rest of Derbyshire to explore
Don't worry if the thought of getting back up the short but steep drive to the site dragging your house on wheels with the family estate makes you break out in a cold sweat there are more than enough bright green John Deer on site to give a helping hand and get you reluctantly on your way only to work out when you are next going to visit.
Bravo to Tax Farm :-)
