Stayed for four nights to incorporate Race Day on the 24th. What a brilliant site this is in such close proximity to the Race Course. From the very friendly well informed wardens to the immaculate facilities and the 15 minute walk into the nearest town which had all you wanted, and a ten minute walk in the other direction good reasonably priced food at the pristine golf club, what a fab little break thank you Jools & D

We stayed at this site for 4 nights at end of April and could not have been made more welcome. Denise and Jools are the most hands on wardens we have ever come across. Knowledge about the local and broader area is given by both Denise and Jools including thing to do/see. The local chocolate shop (just 5 mins away)is an absolute must visit as is Market Rasen itself.
The toilet block is not super modern but that does not matter as it is kept spotlessly clean. The shower mats are a nice touch. The site is tucked away behind the racecourse stand but you are still able to have a walk around at the end of the day once the racecourse staff have left for the day. There is even a 9 hole golf course in the centre of the racecourse.
We would like to thank Denis very much for that extra mile and booking us a table at the local Indian restaurant which was superb.
If we could give this site 20 out of 10 we would. If you are thinking of visiting this area then you cannot go wrong by booking into this site.
Thank you Denise and Jools

I can't praise the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff enough, even to them phoning me to ensure I made the best use of my time to arrive. Toilets and showers etc very clean, although I would have liked a little more space in the toilet cubicle. The site looks well kept and has easy access. It was only a weekend break for us but it won't be the last we spend at this lovely venue.

We stayed recently on this campsite where we have stayed many times before. The site is well maintained with electric hookups and clearly marked pitches. The shower block has recently been redecorated and is very clean and presentable. There is a nine hole golf course in the centre of the racecourse for which you get a reduction if staying on site. It is well kept and you get a good game of golf. There a newish playground for children which helps to keep them amused. You can walk or cycle into the town which has two supermarkets, a chemist and various places to have a meal or get fish and chips. It is very easy to cycle around the area to explore it. The wardens are very friendly and helpful and can advise you on a variety of things to do.

Quite small by CAMC standards, there are only 55 pitches, all grass (there are 17 hardstandings but they are all for seasonals). This is an affiliated site owned and run by the Jockey Club. The wardens are so friendly and helpful. It makes a really nice change to be told you can arrive any time after 9am but may have to wait for others to leave if they've been really busy. Also the toilets/showers never close for cleaning as they recognise that 'no time is convenient' but they do need updating and I was told that the Jockey Club have agreed to do that in 2018. There is a golf course adjacent and I was even offered the loan of a set of clubs.
The town centre is a 25 minute walk away as is a reasonable sized Tesco but the town is really disappointing and rather run down. Market days are supposed to be Tuesdays and Fridays but on the Tuesday we were there, only two stalls. Lots of takeaway food outlets, one value food pub and one very upmarket restaurant. Not even a nice tea/coffee shop.
Site is also next to the racecourse so if you go for that you need to book early.

A lovely site.
The warden was something else, all I can say is the race course should treat this woman like gold dust! Nothing was to much trouble for her. Always polite and unobtrusive.
Toilets clean and site well maintained! Great for dog walks.
Definitely would go back!

Visit let down by unable to find Wardens??
Site well laid out. Showering facilities rather old, but usable. Not as clean as our last visit 18 months ago. Golf course okay but not really a proper golf course. Tesco close by and a great Indian (Gate of India) within walking distance. Good fish and chips local chippies. Willingham woods just down the road very good for dogs. Not allowed to walk dog around golf course and children only allowed to play in a small play area out of sight of our caravan. It is just okay as a camp site, wardens need to be more available and more helpful.

New managers have this season taken over this site. It is well maintained with a modern, clean shower and toilet block. The new managers are friendly and easy going more than willing to help with any queries. Our electric cable wasn't long enough so we were loaned an extension. It is situated an easy 10- 15 minute walk to the town centre. From the town are good train and bus services to Lincoln. We were there on a non race day so the site was quiet and peaceful. The 2 of us travelled around the east of England in May, stopping at a number of campsites and would recommend this one.

A mixed review for this site.
We are a family with two young children (6 and 7).
The site was easy to find, clean and the wardens seemed very welcoming. The shower / toilet block was in good condition although we didn't use the showers.
The main downside for us is that no bikes or balls are allowed on site. Which was very disappointing for our children who usually love to get on their bikes as soon as they arrive. And to be honest, this is the point of camping. To get them off the iPads and running around! There is a small playground round the corner at the racecourse but this had to be supervised whereas we can usually at least watch the children as they cycle around the site. The kids commented that the site was a bit boring - presumably because they felt restricted.
The other small downsides was some loud music playing at 10.30pm one evening. Luckily it didn't wake the children. And also the local dog breeding caused quite a bit of noise at feeding times!
All in all, probably a nice site for adults but not ideal for children.

2 x adults, 2 x 5 year olds visited late May.
This is a well presented site, mainly for touring caravans but with some space for tents. The toilets and showers are impeccably clean and locked (key supplied on arrival) and the field is well maintained. Also the wardens are very friendly and helpful and made for a pleasant experience.
There were a couple of drawbacks for us personally:
Firstly our 20 metre hook up was only just long enough so due to that and the pitch itself we were restricted to the direction we could face the tent which meant the prevailing wind blew straight into the front of the tent - which is less than ideal.
Secondly the playground is not actually on the campsite, it is nextdoor on the racecourse. To get there an access road and carpark have to be crossed. This meant we could not let kids go and play without supervision. Added to that there are no ball games, scooter or cycles allowed on site so it wasn't particularly great for the kids self entertaining.
Finally the place next door (presumably the golf club) played live / loud music till past midnight.
In summary a nice site but not one for a young family.
