Just returned from an enjoyable week at the Market Rasen Site, enjoyed it so much in previous years, so have a residential site this year. We hit problems after the severe Winter, Water Pump went on the blink, Wardens advised us to go to the Caravan Distributors in Louth to get the part, even though the Warden had a bad dose of the flu it was not long before he fixed same. Then there was a burst piece of pipe, the warden's wife went on the Internet and found a shop with part, which her son collected for us, and fitted in no time, even though we were panicking at the site of the running water, Wardens were calm and just got on fixing the part, hence an enjoyable week, walking the dogs on the numerous walks, including walks through the woods. Or watching the races when walking the dogs. Walking into Market Rasen 15mins plenty of shops and Food Outlets, and eating places. For me my favourite Ladies shop called Magnolia very reasonable especially Sale-times. Visiting Louth a very bustly ancient Market town with lots of shops and Charity Shops definitely worth a browse around, there is a Market on 3 times a week, and lots of free parking, good one behind the Co-op. There is the adjoining Golf Course which is very popular a very pretty course which runs through the Racecourse, or just relax in the Race course grounds on the numerous seats, or watch your children in the play area. Will visit Lincoln next time either by bus or train. There is a very large car boot sale at Hemswell, approx 10 miles away, which is also home t the largest Antiques Warehouse, and fantastic Model Railway shop for the Train Enthusiast. There are lots of Old Airfields to visit. After having a busy day return to the Relaxing Caravan Site and have a well deserved shower in the very well kept Shower block, which are a credit to Anne and Rob. There is a Car Boot sale at the Site on a Friday and Bank Holiday Weekends, definitely worth a visit and only a couple of minutes walk, also an Agricultural Sale towards the end of the Season. Anyone wanting more than this must be very hard to please.

Just spent 4 days at this Caravan Club Affiliated Site, we found it very peaceful and relaxing. I'm sure its a little bit more lively on race meeting weekends but also exciting. The wardens were very friendly and helpful. The facilities are more than adequate, kept very clean and lovely and warm. We had a very enjoyable game of golf on the nine hole course in the centre of the race track made all the better by a discount off the fees. We have a dog and found the area fantastic for walking, lots of woodland walks, and plenty of space for him to have a good run within the racecourse itself. Market Rasen is a lovely town, it offers everything you could need with some great shops and lovely pubs, serving good food. Its a mile from the site but an easy walk with footpaths all the way. Although we didn't venture any further afield the wardens were a hive of information about local attractions and mentioned that there was a regular bus service between Grimsby and Lincoln and also a train station in the town with trains to Grimsby and Lincoln. We will definitely be planning a return visit soon. Plus the midweek discount which is available all season gives a great saving.

Just spent 3 nights at this site and we thoroughly enjoyed. The toilets and showers are very clean and the pitches are a good size. We went to the races which is literally just through a door in the toilet block.
There is also a golf course attached to this site and as we have never tried this before decided to give it a go. We hired the clubs and walked round this beautiful course which crosses the race course and had a blast.
Not very good at it but its the sort of place that we know we will go back to and practise some more.
We had a night round Market Rasen and there is a good number of pubs, liked the Aston arms and plenty of takeaways, had one delivered to the van one night.
This is a lovely relaxing site and all very friendly. We will go back.

Just spent another 3 nights at this campsite. It is one of my favourites and we visit 4 times a year. The wardens are extremely friendly and good humoured. They run the site brilliantly. The toilets are immaculately clean and regularly decorated. The site is well located, especially if you want to go to the races! It can become busy on race days but there is never any noise as the wardens are always around and the facilities cope well with the numbers. The shower block is regularly checked and cleaned. My husband enjoys the golf course and I enjoy the peace and quiet. Well worth a visit!

Great site if you are a racing fan. Couple who run site are very helpful and would do anything to help. Nice walks around the race course and golf there too. It is around 20 minutes walk to market rasen which has usual shops. Showers very clean and tidy and a good site all round.

Just returned from our first visit this season. The site is all grass pitches. The shower/toilet facilities were lovely and warm and immaculately clean. The wardens Ann and Rob were very friendly and helpful. Market Rasen town is only 1 mile from the site, easy to walk to with footpaths all the way, but if you prefer to drive all the parking is free. There is a train station and also a good bus service to the historic city of Lincoln. There are some lovely woodland walks near to the site, our two dogs loved it, the site is very dog friendly. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.

We were booked on this site for 5 nights but only stayed 1 and left with no refund. The pitches where very small looked more like a caravan storage yard than a site. The toilet block is part of a hostel and are very dated and not what I would expect from a caravan club affiliated site at a cost of £20 a night. On a plus point the area was very nice and market rasen is a lovely little town.

The site is part of the Market Rasen Race Course, and is slightly sloping with great views from some of the top pitches. The toilet and shower facilities are kept very clean. The site office has a small shop and information centre, and the wardens are friendly and helpful. There is a golf course on site and a kids play park. The race course also has events some weekends and the wardens sometimes put on quiz nights. The town is only a 15 min walk and has a Tesco and a good mix of shops, some good pubs, restaurants and takeaways. We enjoyed a relaxing few days and will go back again.

A quiet weekend at a nice site. The pitches are mostly sloping, with some being quite uneven. The warden sets out the strict pitching layout using his model car and caravan in reception and then it's off to find a pitch. The lower pitches were very green and suspiciously boggy, and we found a nice grassed pitch next to the edge of the site. When I saw the warden coming over toward us I thought we had broken the regimented pitching layout; but no need to fear, he simply pointed out that we were on a pitch where an old road used to be and that we would need rock pegs! Nice of them to care, and the wardens are keen and friendly at this site.
The area is quiet and, if there is no racing on, so is the site. We had visitors and they found the site to be relaxing and quiet; until the fireworks that evening! (There was a wedding in the Racecourse).
Water points aren't as close or plentiful as other CC sites we have been to; and there is only the one waste water / chemical disposal point, but the site is small enough that it wasn't a problem. The toilets, showers and washrooms are immaculate.
My only gripe, and it's a minor one, is that the waste water point involves lifting the manhole cover and pouring waste water and chemical water into the open waste pipe. There is the usual flushing area that I would have expected to use for chemical waste; but a sign pointed out that it was just to be used for rinsing the containers. Which was strange. My missus likes to help with waste water and toilet emptying and I didn't want her looking down into an open drain so I took over, a more standard CC waste point would make this site 5 stars for me.
But that aside, (and hardened ralliers will say I'm being too soft anyway!), the site was a nice place to be for a short stay; it's well run, clean and in a good location for the Lincolnshiore Wolds.

Sloping grassed site with no hardstandings. Clean toilets and showers up to the usual Caravan Club standards.I do wish more thought went into the positioning the huge toilet roll drums on the walls in the WCs. On opening the door you have to squeeze past it and step over the WC in order to close the door! Helpful good humoured staff. The site is part of Market Rasen race course which can be the venue for a wide variety of activities. A gymkhana had ended on the Friday at the start of our stay. The party went on until the early hours of Saturday morning. While not loud and intrusive it could still be heard and could be irritating for some people. If other activities are a concern best enquire before booking what else is taking place. We enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing break. The centre of town has a couple of lively pubs serving food. There is also a pizza parlour who deliver and a couple of chip shops but don’t expect them to be open on Sunday. Tesco is close at hand.
