 Spent last weekend at Chapel Farm in Buxton. This is a very basic adult only site with no facilities (at all, no toilets or showers) apart from waste disposal and fresh water. We loved it! It is small with only 8 pitches, 7 with EHU, quiet and peaceful; there was no phone reception on Vodafone. It is a working farm so there are animal noises plus some machinery and people around, particularly in the morning, but this wasn't an issue for us.
There is loads to do around the area, the farm is on a public footpath but due to directional inability and livestock worries we chose to try the Tissington Trail, which is a 13 mile stretch of repurposed railway line. This was very busy with cyclists but not so many walkers & few dogs when we went. There are some amazing views but lots of midges!
All in all, we loved it and will frequently return. At £15 for two nights (no EHU), it's perfect for a cheap weekend away to recharge.
