Venus campsite was perfect for a one night stay and had everything we needed. Sarah greeted us on arrival and asked us where we would prefer to pitch up, giving us plenty of space.

The toilets and showers were clean and had hot water and there was also a drinking water station, as well as a washing up area. Remember to take your own toilet roll, as this is not provided in the toilet block.

The road is a little noisy - it didn't bother us but you would be best choosing a pitch at the far end of the campsite if you are a light sleeper.

Overall the campsite was well-maintained and had all the facilities we needed so we would definitely visit again!

We found this site on Pitch Up and it suited us perfectly and was excellent value for money. A week in August cost us just over £200, which we felt was very fair.

We had a fully serviced pitch for the first time, so were able to try out our new kit. Sarah gave us a very friendly welcome and then left us to our own devices.

Two showers and loos for men and for women, all absolutely spotless as was the rubbish/recycling area. By the end of the week all 6 serviced pitches and much of the adjoining camping field were full, but there was plenty of space around each pitch.

We found several fields nearby to exercise our dogs and rarely saw another soul. The very pretty village has an excellent farm shop selling a wide range of goodies.

Thirsk is about 5 miles away, with Tescos, Aldi and a wide range of small shops and eateries.

Lots to see and do in the area and we were able to visit Fountains and Rievaux Abbeys - both on my bucket list since school!

We would certainly stop here again.

I would highly recommend this campsite, it is very quiet and peaceful.

We were on a fully serviced pitch, which was excellent with plenty of space for our car and awning without feeling too close to those next to us.

There is a nice pub that serves excellent food in the next village as well as a very good Indian restaurant nearby. All in all a very nice site,

I’m sure we will be back.

 Facilities were clean and basic.

Two toilets each for male/female. The combination lock was a challenge in the dark!

We were greeted by Sarah who was pleasant and told us all we needed to know.

I thought £25 per night expensive for what was available.

Lively clean site, owners very friendly and helpful,

Short drive to 2 mayor towns Ripon and Thirsk.

Dog walk a bit of a letdown as tarmac road

But all in all had a fab time lovely place.

Only found this site because our usual one was full but really glad I did. We'll be using this one from now on.

Adults only which is always a bonus for us, both the grass pitches and hard standing ones are level and spacious.

Facilities are spotless and there's everything you need. We used it as a stopping off point on our journey south and back home so tried both sorts of pitches.

Quiet even though its on the A61 just outside Ripon.

Lovely owner, really friendly and excellent value.

Fab find, lovely little site, we will definitely be going back. Adult only and pitch size is generous.

The facilities are clean. The couple that own/run the site are so friendly and very helpful.

We were on a grass pitch and because the weather was so good we didn't leave the pitch to explore but it is in a good location with loads to do in the local area.

Non electric grass pitch which was lovely A Lady who runs the place is a lovely lady. And made to feel very welcome.

Pros large plot and not over crowded site and close to some lovely walls. Dog friendly and a quite site. Made to feel very welcome and a good price. We slept well and

Dis. Is the toilets could be better, no toilet paper ( apprantly to do with covid lots of public toilets have loo paper and other campsites do to) so was a bit strange.

Push buttons showers only on for 1. 5 seconds. Also lots of sprays but no wipes, again covid related I feel antibacterial wipes would be better. These are both minor faults that can very easily be sorted.

I would definitely stay here again and recommend people to stay here.

Great site, very well kept. Sarah is lovely, welcoming and very helpful.

Right by the road so there is a little road noise but it’s in a great spot for visiting the area. Close to the A1M.

Will definitely stay again when in the area.
