We stayed her for 3 nights, weather was not great, camp site was very muddy, but the camp site carn`t help the weather. It`s a very nice little camp site, very quiet. Touring pitches are very close to the club house. The shop only sells the bits and pieces, not like the super market, but you can get a paper, milk, bread. Bar is reasonably priced, entertainment was ok. Staff are very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. The swimming pool is very nice, we didn`t use it, due to the weather, but it`s open early and closes at 9 at night. Morrisons is 5 miles away, Overstrand. We could not walk to the beach, because the path way is steep and very muddy, but is a nice walk if the weather is good. If you use a sat nav to go to the camp site go to Cromer and go that way to the site as the roads are very narrow - you can only get one car down them. If you like a drive out, there`s a very nice pub at walcott (Poachers arms) very good service and value for money. It looks over the beach. All in all would go back to this site if weather was better

Just returned from a fab 4 nights stay in the tent field of Woodland Leisure Park, Trimingham. Having booked before reading the other reviews I was dreading the loos etc. Well I believe a huge amount of cash had been invested over the past year. Fully flushing, reasonably clean loos were at the entrance to the tent field, not the chemi-loos as of last year! (only had to ask one of the "caretakers" about the faulty light in one of the loos and they appeared instantly fixed it, filling up the loo roll dispensers too!) I do not know where the 8 minute walk to the shower block came from as I walked directly there, showered and walked back in barely 10 minutes. It's a steep little uphill slope but it is really only a couple of minutes away.
We even found a way to the beach. It was 10 mins walk up the lane, over the main road, 100yds to the right then following the public footpath across the field to the woods. Climbing down the cliff path was a bit hairy (10 mins) but our 4 kids including a 4yr old managed it both down and up. An adventure! (I wouldn't attempt it if it was wet!)
Clubhouse was well stocked, though we did not have any meals they looked fine, lovely play area for kids and enclosed grass area while Mum & Dad relaxed! (Remember your torches for the walk back to the dark tent field) Kids entertainers were wonderful with the Superstar (quote from the 4yr old!) being Sammy Squirrel! Lovely staff, great site, super-helpful shop chap. We will be back!

On arrival the staff were pleasant and helpful with a speedy check in. The non-electric camping field has a steep gravel slope to access the field and low clearance cars may find this a problem. The sides and bottom end of the field are prone to water logging but the staff did advise us of this. There are only two porta type loos on the field with the main shower blocks some 200 metres away up hill although car parking is nearby. There are two stand pipes in the field but no facility for waste water. The facilities on site are first class offering a good range of meals etc if a little pricey (£10-15 per head for main course), nice swimming pool and sauna. The shop provides the basics but camping gaz was not seen. Overall a good site if you are prepared to rough it a little. It provides a quite location from which to just relax or tour the north Norfolk area. Would visit the site again and would recommend it.

Stayed here 5 nights. Initially put off by steep hill and minimal facilities on tent field. (porta loos 3 & 1 water tap) However found the site very pleasant. Bar and swimming pool excellent. Showers clean. After walking around the site we found that there were some tents pitched on main touring area. I had asked about this before booking and was told tents couldn't use touring site peak season. I then asked the staff how come there were tents on there when we had been refused. The member of staff in question was very helpful and said that there had been a mistake made when booking these tents in but spoke to manager who said we could move to the touring area if we wanted. We declined the offer but thanked her for the information. (we just wanted to know whether we could book pitches on there for future visits)The tent field was spacious and you could keep an eye on the kids easily. We found this site excellent value for money at £12 a night. Cromer is lovely but try the beach on Overstrand lovely hotel and restaurant there. Would definitely visit site again.

Stayed on this site for five days and found the pool and the childrens entertainment very good also a very helpful gentleman in the shop. Now the downside to this site we was told over the phone when we booked that the toilets and shower block were over 200yds from the tent field we wasnt told that you had to go up a steep slope to get to them , we wasnt warned about the portaloos which because it was busy over the weekend where overflowing and smelt.Could do with more portaloos are empty them more regulary. This hasnt put us off going back to the site but I think the owners could do something about the toilets. Lovely beach at Overstrand no pebbles just lovely clean sand.

Stayed at Woodland caravan park for only 2 nights. When we arrived we were pointed in the direction of "a field" adjacent to the site (we accepted no electric hook up). The field was accessible only by a very step slope (which most cars struggled to get up only if they took a 60mph run up!) the site had only 2 other tents on it, 3 portaloos and 1 wheelie bin. By the time we left on the Sunday morning 20+ tents were on the "field" the wheelie bin was overflowing with as much around the bin as there was in it and the portaloos were also very full, smelly and in a disgusting state also beginning to run out of water (neither the bins or the loos had been emptied all weekend). The main shower block and toilets was at the very least 250 metres away but I must say very clean but in need of urgent modernisation. The bar and pool were excellent but beware of the extra charge for the pool (adults £3.50) the food and kids entertainment were also excellent and without fault.

Helpful and friendly staff. Toilet blocks spotlessly clean, warm, but rather tired looking. Lovely grounds. Shop was sold out of almost everything and the staff were very apologetic - they explained it was nearing the end of the season. Beware though: use of the facilities such as the swimming pool is not included in the pitch price. Couldn't help feeling this was rather greedy, especially out of season, and this should be made clear on their website and advertising. The staff agreed!

August 2005 This was, without a doubt, an exceptionally well run & top value for money site. The toilets & showers were kept in a very clean & tidy condition despite the best efforts of some people on site with the "don't care" attitude. Staff were friendly & helpful at all times. Shop on site had all the basics you would need in emergency situations. However, it was closed after 5pm. again; staff were friendly, & courteous. Club on site was spacious & served excellent food but book in advance if you wish to eat on Friday, Saturday or Sunday to avoid not getting a table. Pitch size was excellent. Plenty of room for all the equipment. You will need wheel chocks because some of the pitches were uneven. Some of the pitches near to the road were quite hard underneath so metal pegs would be handy to have just in case.
Would I return? Defiantly & soon I hope. my only gripe was that some people still do not know the meaning of the phrase "dogs on leads at all times" there were loads of trails to take dogs for walks on yet some people still thought it was ok to allow there dog to wander about without been tethered. This is NOT fair on the rest of the campers who DO obey the rules. Don’t let this put you off however, if you want a good value family park, in north Norfolk, this is definately the one I would choose.

August 2005 Excellent facilites as far as pool, arcade for kids, bar , play area but the toilets and showers sucked. They were clean but there was only one unit and so going to the toilet at night was a pain. Even so we did have a great time and theres tons to do in Cromer, dont miss the bootsale on Tuesdays!
