An update since my last review in 2014. The site is closing to tourers from the end of the 2017 season. Planning permission has been granted to develop the tourer site into a hotel and building work starts in October.
We have visited regularly since 2014. Our most recent stay over the August bank holiday weekend was the pits. The club, which is right next door to the tourers, had loud entertainment on every evening - no problem with that - but it didn't end until approximately 1. 30am! At which point the entertainment from the sweary drunken (and sometimes angry) people spilling out of the club began and continued at one point until 5. 30am. Not fun.
Charcoal BBQs were also banned on this visit after some idiot managed to burn down two static vans the previous year by lighting a BBQ and then going to the club (seriously). However we weren't informed before arrival and had to feed a party of 13 using one Cadac gas barbecue. Again not fun. But the Cadac was brilliant.
There is a communal BBQ that we were told could be booked, but on enquiry it was not available all weekend as there were no staff free to set it up.
The tourer facilities haven't been touched for years while the ownership vacillated over whether to close the tourer field or not, so it may be best all round that it is finally closing. We won't be back if it does get yet another reprieve.

We were lucky enough to get four-night last minute booking just before the August Bank Holiday. Despite being fully booked, the pitches were well spaced and we never saw another soul in the washing up area. The site offers excellent value for money - we paid just £30 a night high season for a family of four plus dog, awning, hook up and FREE unlimited swimming in the sub-tropical indoor pool, which we all loved. The club puts on great cheesey entertainment, and although the music can be heard from the tourers, it is all quiet by 11pm. The family entertainment facilities are excellent - pool table, table tennis, snooker table, tennis court - and most are free or minimal charge (eg 50p/pool game, £1 for snooker lights) with equipment available to hire. Sadly, the highlight for my children was the small penny arcade! The toilets/showers are in need of a revamp (otherwise I would have scored facilities 10 out of 10), but they are clean and never busy. The on-site shop is well stocked and will open out of hours on request at the friendly reception. The site is very well laid out so the statics are not on top of each other. There are swings and a woodland trail, plus plenty of neighbouring fields in which to walk the dog. The site is a short, picturesque drive to Cromer (6 min) where there is a Morrisons, and even closer to fantastic, quiet, pale sandy beaches at Mundesley and Sidestrand. Would we visit again? We already have, two weeks later!

We stayed here in October 2011 and have already booked to go back next year! The site is tidy, clean, well staffed and good facilities. The clubhouse has friendly staff and the food is fresh and tasty. You would need to book if you want to take advantage of the Sunday Carvery - plentiful portions!
The swimming pool is brilliant, clean and a separate pool for the babies. Changing facilities very nice.
There are two play areas and plenty of space to explore the site. A woodland walk, a fishing lake and a path to the beach are all fab places to explore. Nearby Mundesley and Overstrand have lovely beaches (well worth exploring) and Cromer has all the facilities you need to stock up on food or essentials. The site shop is sparse but you can get your morning paper :0)
We have stayed in North Norfolk many times and love this area. Woodlands was a gem to find and we'll be returning in October 2012.

As a family, we have been to Woodland Caravan Park numerous times over the last few visits due to family having a static caravan on site. You will find the site comprises of predominantly static vans, with most being owned privately and a few owned by the park for holiday lets, I think via Haven.
The site is well maintained on an ongoing basis and is set back from the road within a wooded area. Staff you will find friendly and attentive to any comments you wish to make.
The touring field is in the middle of the site, adjacent to the main club house and indoor swimming pool. Pitches are all grass with electric hook up and are well maintained and hedged to the rear. There is also a camping field for tents as they are not permitted within the touring field, which is at the bottom of the site.
Not sure whether there is hook up available on this field. Again, nicely maintained with a couple of portable loos in situ, but as it is at the bottom of a slope, little legs could get tired and its a bit of a walk to get your washing up done.
The club house is a licensed bar and food is available during the day. There is also entertainment put on throughout the holiday season for both adults and children. It is worth noting that when entertainment is on, it usually finishes around midnight and it can be heard in the touring field and some people have commented they find this too much.
The swimming pool is nice and you can purchase several swims for a set price, which works out cheaper than buying sessions individually. There are 2 children's play areas. One is situated next to the club house, which smaller children would be able to utilise and one at the bottom of the site next to the woods and would be considered for slightly older children.
Although in the evenings, the park next to the club house gets busy with both young and older children and from our experience all play nicely together.
There is also a green area at the back of the club house, which football is permitted on as long as sponge balls are used only and again, children all come together for a game in the evening, whilst their parents have a drink.
There are also tennis courts for hire as well as a snooker table, which you can organise via main reception.
There is also a laundry room, which accommodates sinks for washing up and you can buy tokens for the washing machines at reception. The main shower block is situated within the same block. Although they are clean, if you are used to 'Club Site' facilities, you will find these less luxurious, but are functional. You will need to keep one hand on the push button on the shower otherwise the water goes off within seconds, which is a nuisance when washing your hair but helps to stop water wastage.
The site is approximately 3 miles from Cromer itself, where there is a good sandy beach and a pier. If you fancy a beach less busy, then you can try Mundesley, but be warned it is a steep walk down to the beach (but you can take dogs) or Overstrand (but only if the tide is out otherwise there is no beach).
Apparently you can access a beach by crossing the road outside the site and following the cliff path down, but it is apparently quite steep, so we would not recommend this for children. There is a good sized Morrisons in Cromer and you can park there for the beach for a couple of hours, but there are plenty of short and long stay car parks around the time to suit your visit.
Sheringham is another seaside town just along the coast and is also worth a visit. There is also the Shire Horse Centre, which we have frequented any times and would recommend for children.
We personally found Amazonia, Cromer's Zoo rather disappointing as it was not as big as we expected and at the time, there were not many animals. This may have been due to it not being open long when we went, so it may have changed now.
There are also plenty of nice places to eat out. We recommend The Foundry Arms at Northrepps. You will need to pre-book (before your holiday preferably as they get so busy) but you will not be disappointed.
A good range of foods, beautifully cooked. There are also a number of seafood restaurants in Cromer if you want to taste the local crab.

We were touring North Norfolk and spent two nights at Woodland Leisure Park. We had not booked but the helpful receptionist found two nights for us just necessitating a change of pitch on the second day, which for us being awning free was no problem. The receptionist was friendly and very helpful. The pitches were good - on grass with electric hookups, there were many touring caravan's but a smattering of Motorhomes some of them very large and accommodated with ease. The indoor swimming pool looked lovely, at an extra charge, not too exorbitant and a discount was available to touring users. The club house 'The Marlings' was lovely and welcoming with a snug bar and a main bar/restaurant. We did not eat here but the food looked lovely and the drinks were very reasonably priced. People were friendly and talkative. There was a good children's play area adjacent to the club house. We participated in the Thursday quiz night, which we were told was depleted in numbers due to the fireworks at Cromer Carnival. We also used the club on a Friday night when a very good vocalist was on. The toilets were very clean and the showers were hot. The washing up/laundry room was spotlessly clean. I would have no hesitation in recommending this site although the sea was rather a walk away, we drove to Mundlesy and found a 'cliff side' pub which if you are buying a drink does not charge you for the car park whilst using the lovely beach. We also drove to Sheringham which is beautiful, with easy reasonably priced parking.

We decided on Wednesday that we were going to go camping Thursday afternoon as the weather forecast was looking OK. After phoning 15 full sites on the coast between Wells and Cromer I jumped at this one as they had spaces. Although I thought £27 per night for a 6 man tent was a bit much, my friend and I could pitch next to each other as she had never camped before and we were close to the sea. She paid £19 per night for a 4 man tent.
On arrival the site was very spacious and beautiful. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and pointed us in the right direction (down hill!). We were also told that if we wanted to eat in the restaurant we would need to book. So we booked in for 8pm giving us an hour to set up our tents.
The camping field was down a steep slope but was large and flat and from what we saw didn't seem prone to any flooding. No marked out pitches which was great. Everyone was pitched round the edge which left a huge space in the middle for the kids to play in. The field had very basic amenities - just 2 permanent portaloos which were sufficient but when there were quite a few tents on Friday night they got very smelly and a bit grimy. Not for those who are funny about toilets - you know who you are! There was also some queueing going on first thing Saturday morning! I complained that there was no hand soap in one of the loos and a new one arrived almost immediatley. There were 2 taps for water in the field and 1 fire fighting stand. The hot water in the loos was turned up very high and was sufficient for using as washing up water - although not so good for the kids to wash there hands! There was no washing us facilities.
Toilet block and showers were all 200m away up the steep slope and uphill. Ladies showers were OK but my husband had trouble in the men's as the water kept stopping. Not good when you're half way through washing your hair! Apparently this is an ongoing problem that they are aware of!
We ate in the restaurant that evening and although the food was on the expensive side it was well presented and very tasty. Everyone was very nice even though they seemed short staffed. We didn't join in the quizz as the kids were beat.
This site brings you very close to nature with it's woodlands to walk through, lake to fish in and the wonderful sound of owls hooting and deer barking in the dawn! There are interesting nature facts on boards posted round the site and the kids thought this was great to find them and learn about the animals they might see.
We swam in the pool and used the sauna on Saturday which seems relativly new and clean but it did cost us £17 (including a discount!) for a family ticket admitting 7 of us. We would have expected to use this for free due to the high pitch price we paid.
We biked around the site which was an adventure as you can stay on the roads or go off into the woods and down tracks. Although our youngest member aged 5 struggled as it is all up and down hill we took our time and stopped at the swings.
We also used the site shop which was adequate for basics and clearly displays opening times. We were surprised not to be charged for freezing our block but asked to put some change into the charity box!
Out and about we visited Overstrand - small village, sand + shingle beach accessed down a very steep concrete slope,5 mins drive. Cromer town - sandy beach, good rock pools, pier for crabbing off and fabulous shops, 10 mins drive and Sheringham - pebble beach, more fabulous shops, poppy line steam train to Holt and 15 mins drive away.
We had fantastic weather for our 4 day stay, enjoyable company and beautiful places to visit, so overall our break was fantastic. We always camp round Norfolk as we love the area but not sure if we would return to this site as we think it was pricey for the facilities that were provided. We have stayed at sites around the same price with much better facilities and free swimming!

Just visited for a week. Campsite very clean and tidy. Web site photos don't do the swimming pool justice as the pool and changing rooms are great. Toilets etc are good and always clean with very hot showers. Chemical toilet/waste water disposal could be better as there is a good chance of splash back. We were pitched very close to the clubhouse and my biggest grumble is the continuous noise of air conditioning fans (I think).
Also, if you have a dog or a jetski, travel towards Mundesley and turn left down Vale Road (stoney track just after the pub) where you can drive onto the beach and dogs can enjoy the beach
Overall an excellent site which we would visit again.

The tent pitch was fine, we were directed to the tent field and could just choose our own space. In the tent field there were two porta loos, these were ok for the odd visit, but the toilet and shower block was a long walk from from the field (up a steep and slightly muddy road).
We felt very welcome at the site, had a lovely meal and drinks in the bar which was reasonably priced. Swimming pool looked very nice and was reasonably priced too.Although we didn't use it.
There is a small shop which sells basic necessities, but you need to drive to the supermarket.
Overall I think for a tent pitch it was slightly expensive but we had a lovely time.Despite the rainy weather!

An ideal site to use as a base to explore North Norfolk,or just stay and chill out. The facilities, showers etc. very clean. Pool and sauna very good, ideal for youngsters as pool only 1.2 metres in depth everywhere. The bar and restaurant very good. The meals we had were excellent. Book for the Sunday carvery.
Would use this site again .
