Stayed here for 2 nights last weekend WILL be returning again shortly. Camp staff very friendly, facilities ample for your needs, toilet blocks clean and tidy. Friendly seasonal people made us feel welcomed not like a lot of sites. Weather was to hot to explore the nearby places but will do on our return visits. Pub (hotel) only a short walk from site, garage with a good selection of produce not over priced either in village. Well worth a visit

Just returned from another 3 nights at this lovely site. It's still as lovely and immaculate as ever.
Amenity wise; the new gents shower and toilet block is wonderful, and for a mere 20p you get loads of piping hot water for what seems like an age. The building itself is like toast, especially needed on those frosty mornings.
The old gents toilet is having a revamp, but whilst all this work is in progress, the ladies room is a little chilly !
Glad to see the owner has gotten over her recent hip problems; the whole family are great to talk to, and make you feel very welcome.
Oh ! the views of the Black Mountains are still wonderful.
We will be back again !
P. S. All these views, amenities plus EHU 16amp for just £15 pn all year round. BARGAIN.

We've just returned from our second break at Anchorage Park; the last time was in August 2011, so conditions were a bit different.
However, we were on the same hardstanding pitch (there are only around 5) so all felt familiar.
A lovely welcome from the owner too.
The site was very quiet with just a few folk around setting their vans up ready for Easter.
The site is mostly made up of statics and seasonal tourers, but don't let that put you off, as the views are lovely.
Although it was frosty while we were there, the newer of the gents shower block was toasty the whole time, and they were updating the older one too.
However, the ladies' block was unheated, so nuevogirl didn't hang around too long after her shower!
I must add that the 20p cost of the shower is one of the best investments ever. The water was piping hot, loads of pressure and I had to turn it off in the end, 'cos it lasted so long.
We lunched in the nearby Honey Cafe on the Sunday and were only disappointed because they'd decided to close on Sunday to Tuesday evenings before Easter. (Last time, we ate there on 4 consecutive evenings!)
We didn't try it, but the village pub looks like it's been taken over and were advertising meals, so there's now an alternative.
Locally, the Old Railway garden centre in Glasbury has been extended and there's a lovely cafe there. Also, Talgarth Mill has reopened after refurbishment and their cafe is immaculate too.
We managed to cycle 60 miles in the two full days there, one up to Builth Wells on Lon Las Cymru route and the next day to Hay on Wye and around to Talgarth. Lovely quiet roads and glorious scenery.
A lovely site, well located halfway between Brecon and Hay and ideal for exploring the Black Mountain area.

Spent three nights at this site in Sept. 2011, but wanted to go back to take in Talgarth Black Mountain Festival during the Bank Holiday weekend.
This is an absolute gem of a site, with glorious views of the Black Mountains. A bus stop only three minutes walk away, to take you into Brecon, Hereford and surrounding area. The Cock Hotel is only 4 minutes away, and the Honeypot cafe just 10 minutes away.
Talgarth village, with its now famous Mill, is a 20 minute walk away, but worth a visit.
Some site amenities could do with a little tlc, but nothing to deter anyone. In fact a new shower facility is due to open shortly.
We really did love this site ! The owners were first class, the grounds were immaculate and the quiet was. Relaxing !
Forgot to mention - a wonderful hairdresser on site, together with a Post Office and laundrette.
We can't wait to go back

We have just returned from a lovely weekend at Anchorage Caravan Park and we really enjoyed our stay. We were greeted by a happy warden who personally showed us to our hard standing pitch which came complete with TV hook up. The pitch we had was level but I must admit if I had been given any other one I could have struggled to get level.
The facilities on site were spot on and clean, perhaps a little cold but that adds to the fun of camping in the winter! A shower cost 20p ago and was more than long enough for me.
The site is well positioned in the village which has a pub, a shop and a café. I really recommend the café! We didn’t venture in the pub but the food menu looked good!
Summing up, a great little campsite with a back drop to die for. My only problem is why we have never been here before.

We booked this last minute on a Thursday for a Friday night and Saturday night.
On arrival we were met by the owner and took us to our pitch and showed us where everything was. The view we had was amazing and although the heavens opened up as we were trying to unhitch two helpful strangers came over and offered to help (TY).
Although the site seemed commercial it genuinely was very quiet in the nights, the showers were spotless as were the toilets.
If I was to give it marks out of 10 I would say 8, would have given it 10 if it didn't remind me of Porthcawl in the 70s

We stayed for a pleasant few days over half term and we were also quite lucky with the weather. The booking in was straightforward and easy, we were then guided to our pitch which was a little tarmac full service pitch on a terrace with nice views.
We almost had the site to ourselves and it was nice and quiet. The one thing that did catch us out was that buses don't run on school holidays, but we were not using the awning so just unplugged the van and drove.
The toilets were kept clean and you need 20p for the shower. The block is just about in need of a repaint but its certainly not too shabby. There is a walk over the top of the hill through the woods which was ideal for taking the dog.
The locals are some of the friendliest people I have ever met, I'm not sure if we stuck out that much but everyone said hello and struck up conversations, they all probably wanted to meet the mad people camping in Wales in February!
We walked to the New Inn in Talgarth and had a fantastic Thai meal, we Also used the fabulous Honey Cafe. The Garage in Bronllys is also a deceptively large mini market and DIY store.
Brecon is a great place to visit and that is where we headed to most days. I would definitely stay again

Enjoyed our 5 nights here.
Owner was active on site at all times and never seemed to rest. There are two toilet/shower blocks with the latest one being top class. The 20p for a shower gives adequate duration and means that turnover is quick! However, even in August, the facilities were not over-stretched. We found a flat grass standing area for the 'van and awning but you have to forgo the wonderful views for this. As has been said, site is quiet at night. Independent Honeypot cafe is a short walk away and does great coffee, cakes and food with a view - if you're lucky to get a seat outside. Can recommend

We have our touring caravan on a seasonal pitch at The Anchorage. We spent a few weeks visiting different caravan parks and were about to give up on the idea of a pitch as we found the other sites to be busy and too many caravans close together.
However, we drove into The Anchorage and absolutely fell in love with the place. We have the top pitch overlooking The Black Mountains and spend countless hours admiring the views from our loungers. The caravans are not cramped together so you have plenty of space and privacy.
The site owners are great! The brand new toilet and shower facilities are always kept clean and the whole park is maintained to a high standard. We just love it here and although we have our caravan up for sale (due to twin pregnancy) we plan to come back to a seasonal pitch with the kids are a bit older!
The pub down the road has got new owners (March 2011) and is in walking distance (serves food and has a beer garden). It is in easy reach of many Welsh tourist attractions so you could set off for the day and return to your caravan for a BBQ!

Spotless site and facilities,
Tends to slope a bit in parts but the view is to die for- so a small price to pay in my opinion.
there is a shop on site and a pub within walking distance-although I didn't use these during my stay,
There's a smart play area for the kids and they all seemed to be loving it,
There were a number of children on site due to the school holidays but this was easily one of the quietest sites by night I have ever slept on.
The owners also have a strict overcrowding policy- so you wont end up having to walk around your unit sideways.
This is an affordable and well run site
