Excellent location with easy access. Level hard standing pitches that are a decent size. Very near the main A road, but although traffic could be heard, it was not loud.
The best kept cut grass we have ever come across. Friendly and helpful owner
There is a pub that serves food within walking distance, but because of Covid 19 we did not try it

Great access to A66 on route to Scotland, interesting castle 10 mins away in town. Owner very helpful and working to restore his historical site very nicely kept worth a stop.

Great little campsite, beautifully maintained with lots of wildlife. Only a short walk for the village of Bowes with a social club and restaurant.
The site is located on the edge of the Lake District and in the heart of Teesdale the nearest town is Barnard castle for shopping.

Brilliant camp site. As my partner was poorly, the owner quite kindly helped me push the caravan into place. However, as all the pitches are as flat as a tack, I could have pushed it into place by myself. Enhancements are coming with electric hook up but we quite happily stayed 7 days without it, especially at this price.
There is a restaurant within walking distance which also does teas. Easy access to the Lake District and close to Barnard castle and Bowes Museum. Darlington is only 30 minutes away, for steam enthusiasts. If you are a walker, the Pennine Way is minutes away.
For Charles Dickens' fans, Bowes (within walking distance) is a must. You can see the grave stones of two people who inspired Dickens to write "Nicholas Nickleby" at St Giles Church. 'Dotheboys Hall' is visible from the road.
A great site for adults who are happy to listen to birds sing and swoop while soaking up the scenery over a game of chess.
