Every now and then you come across a little gem of a site, well this is it, not many pitches about 15 with EHU, The owner Mrs Waughs keeps it in first class condition, and nothing is to much trouble, and only £11 per night with hook up and that was for bank holiday as well. Very popular with hikers and walkers for Haidrians Wall. Good pub 400 mtr's away selling good bar food and ale. On the down side there is no play area for children but hey you can't have everything. The shower block is a little dated but totally spotless, If you are looking for a quiet site just off the A69 then don't go past this one. We will be back.

What a haven of peace and relaxation! Excellent value for money and a short walk into the village with a good pub and tea rooms. There's a farmers market in the village hall every second Sunday too. Mrs Waugh is the owner and keeps the place clean and tidy. Small charge for showers and dish washing, but they are hot! Maybe not for those with children as there are no children's play areas. Excellent base for exploring Hadrian's Wall attractions and Lanercost Priory is well worth a visit too.

As previously mentioned this is a real 'hidden Gem' We got this site after leaving it till the last minute to book. We stayed for 3 nights over Easter and we got a lovely big level pitch for our awning and caravan, even though the site was full. There were only about 7 tourers/motor homes on there but it was really well set out. The grass was nice there's no park but in the middle there's a grassy area with a picnic bench, my kids payed tennis etc. The site doesn't give you a cramped feeling, it's cosy and small. The toilet block is clean there's showers as well. The roads are really good you can get where you want to go without feeling like postman pat ! I was a little worried it was off the beaten track but it was really fine nice and peaceful. The Lady owner really couldn't do enough for us all, she was really nice from me picking up the phone on our first call to saying goodbye as we left. Shes lovely, and the site is really nice. My kids aged 15, 9 and 7 had a great time here, we went to Kielder water and Alnwick castle. Great weekend was had by all, this site deserves a visit. My lot can be picky but could not complain about this one.

A great little site. The owner was very friendly and worked tirelessly to keep the site immaculate. The facilities were nice and clean, but the showers were a bit temperamental. Location is great - you can see some of the best remains of the Roman wall by walking from the site. An excellent, accommodating site, good facilities, highly recommended!

What an absolute gem of a site! Hadn't booked in anywhere as weren't sure where we would end up but luckily someone had not turned up so we got a pitch despite the owner being worried about the poor state of the grass. We thought it was immaculate - a lot better than others we have stayed on
The toilet/shower blocks although basic were spotlessly clean. Will definitely be returning here ! We were recommended the Greenhead hotel for a meal but did not in the end go there. Site also had two statics but not sure if they are for rent. Excellent area for walking and visiting Hadrian's wall
Owner extremely friendly and helpful and the fact the site is only £10.50 including electric is a real bonus

Nice small site. Well looked after. Toilets and showers spotless,20p per 6 mins for showers. No bias towards any sort of camping but ring first just in case of being booked up. A few hook ups. No local shops but pub just down the road(cracking pint of bitter).Midges can be a problem, use repellent. Roman Army Museum and Hadrians Wall just up the road.Just off the A69,easy to get to from M6 and A1M. Recommended, very friendly owner, can't do enough.
