We arrived Wednesday night, having pre booked some weeks early, we asked them to reserve a plot on the leve . However when we arrived he said oh sorry I FORGOT TO LOOK at your requirements. Anyway we settled for the plot he offered. We asked the grandchildren to go to the shop, they went and said it is now closed, now used as a lettings office. The former site managers used to have papers, milk bread and a small selection of sweets for the kids.

Top site ! We had only just arrived and the owners were more than happy to help us pitch up ! Good shop, we'd forgotten some matches, not a problem as we were given some for free, along with some vouchers for MacDonalds in town. Get your paper order in and open at 8:30am in a morning. Hot showers, basic but clean toilets. Games room with tv and laundrette and iron room. Good play area for the kids, safe entrance - once your van is in, its safe because of the barrier that needs unlocking to let you out. Location ok, 10mins drive to Asda and Tesco if you need to stock up. We got the bus into Backpool and it cost less than £5 for 2 adults and 2 kids. Car boot and market on Sundays about 5 min drive up the road, great to spend a few hours browsing. Recommended. Definitely worth another visit.

Well have been a few times over the past few years including last year and turned up yesterday to be told that they no longer accept tents as they had new owners and they no longer allow tents. Would have been nice for them to let the site know that tents are no longer acceptable. Otherwise great site very handy as there is a 24hr tesco just down the road and the owners as I remember them were fantastic and very helpful. Games room and washing machines were very handy as is the site shop, but I guess this is not to be for us campers who prefer the cover of fabric rather than fibreglass he,he. Well all I can say is in the past few years what a great site for tents and caravans guess only caravans will now get the benefit.

Just returned from a long weekend at Gillett Farm. The site is very easy to find from the M55. It is a bit hard to spot the entrance in the dark though as it is not very well lit at all. There is a also a barrier to stop you just driving on with the caravan. Saying that, the staff were there within a minute or two of us arriving to let us in. They were very friendly and helped us to move the caravan into position quickly to save us struggling. Useful with me being 5 mths pregnant!!
The site itself is nice and pretty quiet. The pitches are on hard standing (we had EHU aswell) although you still need to watch the mud when you step outside the caravan - would recommend taking mats of some kind. We didn't bother with an awning due to the time of year and it is very windy up there so we made the right choice.
The wash facilities are basic - loos are separate to the shower block. The showers were clean with lots of hot water. Be aware there is not too much room in the cubicles and they are not suitable for toddlers as the shower trays are ceramic and a bit too slippery for small people. We just washed our tot in the caravan but for any more than a long weekend this may have posed a problem. The toilets are fine. They could have been a bit fresher but on the whole it was fine.
There is a little well stocked shop that stops open late and a small games room for the kids if that is what you want.
We had a great view of the tower from the caravan door and it was a nice location. It took about 15 minutes to drive into Blackpool. There are buses if you prefer.
The nearest takeaway is in Lytham 3 miles away - there are quite a few types such as chinese and fish and chips. It is easy to get to aswell. There are no pubs anywhere near so if you want a drink, take your own and drink it on site. There is a huge Tesco store a few minutes away and a Morrisons too so no problem in getting supplies.
We would definitely go back as it served our needs well and the staff went out of their way to assist if you needed it.

Just spent two nights at Gillett Farm, luckily for us there weren't many bookings for the 'tent' field and the very helpful staff picked the 'best' pitch for us (it was very muddy and wet)and allowed us to bring our pitch forward to avoid having to step out in the mud which was really good. We had a great view of the fields and could at a push just the top of Blackpool Tower when the sky was clear.
The shop was good and all the staff were very friendly. The facilites are truly a site to behold! Two ladies toilets - not clean and the aroma of stale urine was not pleasant, luckily we have a porti potti, thank god. Also there are no washbasins in the toilets you have to go over to the shower block to wash your hands - take your own soap though as there is none provided. There were four ladies showers, but you have to stand in the shower tray to close the door - big muddy boot print. But the showers were very good hot and a good flow of water. I noticed the games room had a TV and bus time tables and a few games machines.
Overall if you just want a base for Blackpool which wasn't far away (£7.50 return for two adults if you use the bus and a little walk) then the site would do the job as long as you don't expect fantastic, first class facilities.

After just turning up at Blackpol, it was time to start shearching for a campsite, after trying 3 that we had got off this website, we phoned this one on the off chance and there was space. The owners were very friendly and had a warm welcome, the site itself was on a slope but it was very clean and tidy, the shower block was old but clean, the shop was well stocked and opened for long hours.
We had only booked for 4 nights but had decided to stay for another 3 nights which was no problems at all considering the time of the year. They had facilities for a number of caravans BUT be warned there is a 6ft 6in height barrier so don't try to pull in(we just made it with a roof rack on), easy access to Blackpool and surrounding areas, will go back again whenever in that area, highly recommend staying here.

July 2005 A warm friendly welcome greets you when you first arrive. The facilities were old but exceptionally clean and the water was allways hot (although modifications to the toilets have obviously been made). The shop is open from 8 till late and they even ddo takeaway. The camping field is well drained and the pitches are big enough to take the at least an 8 man tent. There is also a small park with a swing climbing frame etc along with a small games room housing a tv pinball machine and two arcade games. And if all this wasnt enough its a couple of miles into Blackpool.
All in all I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Gillett Famr and would not hesitate to go back.

July 2004 We were recommended this site by a relative from the Blackpool area. The site was good, shower block clean and toilets spotless, the shop lovely, all however like stepping back in time but lovely reminders of holidays as kids. The only problems encountered were sloping pitches, we all ended up at one end of the tent by morning. We stayed at peak season, there was a lot of noise after 11.00 p.m. People were pitching up with caravans late. Felt pretty jaded the day after. All in all a good base for Blackpool - total opposite from country camping.

May 2004 Small but adequate site, shop well stocked and friendly staff, £11.00 a night for family of 4. Showers etc rather dated but exceptionally clean. Toilets in separate block, not easy if you have very small children to go from one to other! Play area popular with our children. Supermarkets handy (1 open 24 hours), good views of Tower lit at night.

August 2003 We are used to camping on larger and more equiped sites than this, but as we only wanted a 2 night break we thought we would give it a go. I am delighted to say that we didnt regret out decision. The site is small and is on a slope but that didnt cause any trouble at all. The toilets and showers are very old but are clean and adequate. There is a tiny games room and a small shop. The staff are friendly and offer a takeaway service. The shop/reception are open long hours. Cant really fault this site at all, it is also the cheapest per night we have ever stayed on. Only £11.75 for the 4 of us per night for a tent pitch with electric. Great base for Blackpool.
