I have put my caravan on sandside caravan park all season this year, it is a nice clean site and the grass is kept very short
The owners Clair and Ray are very friendly people and if you have any problems they will sort it out quickly
There is a main coast railway line that runs near the bottom of the tourer and tent field at first you can hear them at lot but you soon get used to it (its a great place for train spotters )
There is no club on site I think that's why I like it so much if you want a drink you can walk to the royal pub its only about 10 mins walk
I would recommend anybody to go to this site as me my husband and my 9 year son loves it here

Nice clean site, very friendly. Near to beach and the train track. Stayed Fri and Saturday. Access to site is over level crossing, which annoyed my husband as when we were coming out waited 15 to 20 mins for trains to pass by. Went to chippy and dreaded coming back incase we got stuck then we would have had very cold fish and chips but luckily enough we didn't get caught. Fri night was noisy and when freight trains came caravan shook, kids thought it was funny. Sat night was bliss, no noise but all in all had a good weekend. Shower blocks/toilets are very clean and very looked after.

i have been on this very nice site plenty of times. We took our grandson who at the time was 2 months old and have been back so many times. We are always made to feel welcome and you could not ask for a better view over the bay. The trains have never bothered us and we are a disabled family and find the owners Claire and ste brilliant and so helpful. It is always kept very clean and the little shop ok and the info about what is on around and about is great. There are picnic benches looking over the beach and plenty of room for the children to play safely.

Booked for 3 nights but only survived 2. Couldn't stand another night next to the west coast main line railway.
Toilet block is a fair walk from the camping field and the hookups continually tripped with only the kettle plugged in.
Level crossing access would allow up to 5 trains to pass before the barriers lifted allowing 3 cars through before closing again.
Shower and toilet block adequate. No chance of a return visit to this site though!

July 2005 We have just spent three nights at Sandside Caravan park. The site itself is excellent with ample , clean toilets and showers. We was in the camping field right next to the railway lines. We arrived Thursday not having booked anywhere and we were warned about the trains on arrival but booked three nights anyway. Thursday afternoon the trains thundered passed by every 5 mins or so ,that night they passed every hour or so 20 feet or so from our camper . Friday morning we were ready for moving on , but we stuck it out and was glad we did . Friday night onwards it was like being on a different site (trains stop running Saturday night). All in all after a shacky start we enjoyed our stay. Thursday and Friday may not have been restfull due to the train noise, but Saturday and Sunday morning was.

August 2004 sandside is a great campsite , the toilets and showers are kept very clean, also the grass is cut most weeks depending on the weather we put our caravan on this site for one month as we feel that we can relax there There is a train track close to the camp site but you get used to the noise of the trains after a while We have a 5 year old boy and he is train mad so the trains make his holiday We will be booking our caravan for a month next august as we enjoy it there so much

June '04 A nice site with the highest standards of maintenance. Showers, clean, free and very powerful excellent. Site staff very helpful and caravan pitches have ample room.
My only bad comment is if you are on the bottom field as we were you are overlooked by houses and then there is the trains and that bloody level crossing siren. You do get used to it, especially helped at nighttime by generous proportions of alchohol.
Overall I would give this site 8/10, shame about the trains!

May 2004 We have just had a great relaxing time here at sandside, the site and toilets were very clean and well looked after, site security is good with electric gates at entrances and exits, all in all a good place to visit for a relaxing weekend away.
(The only downside, but you get used to them, is the train track that runs nearby, but you will soon be a trainspotter).
GREAT SITE

May 2004 This was our first camping trip with our 9 month old and 3 year old. The campsite is set just off the beach at Morecambe Bay with fantastic views. All camping and caravaning facilities are here and the toilet / shower block is very clean. Lovely quiet site that caters for tents, tourers and statics. Lakes nearby to! A very pleasurable relaxing time was had and would thoroughly recommend this site to anybody.
