First impression site is a field, impression when leaving site is still a field. Old caravans against fence, double decker school bus parked in field. Toilets dirty, touring field on steep slope. View blocked out with house roofs and chimneys. Reception is an old caravan, there are no signs to tell you where it is, its in between the hen hutches. Signage very bad to tell you where to go. Looked forward to this break but was let down by the site

Fantastic! We went with friends and had reserved 2 pitches for 6 adults, 7 kids and had an excellent time. The site was well kept and very flat, the wardens welcoming and friendly, lots of space for the kids to play around and also a play park next to the campsite for all age groups. The toilets / showers were clean and well maintained and situated across the road from the campsite in the Wigwam park, but this wasn't off putting at all, as they were still very close and it was a pleasant walk with lovely scenery and there was 2 portaloos on site too if you preferred. Our friends stayed one night and we decided to stay on another night and my kids didn't want to come home.Always a good sign! Will definitely go back and camp there, and also going to try the wig wams. Highly recommend.

Good site wardens friendly, showers need updating as only 3 available to many campers, middle shower only cold water but after 2mins went hot thus leaving my wife 9 secs to shower. But don't revolt as many splendid features as scenery wow! and quite and peaceful.
Callander only 5 min up road, fish n chips superb, great site no less will visit again!ggod food at pubs a walking distance from site, wee shop in village good and friendly.

We,re just back from Mains Farm after spur of the moment weekend,4 adults,2 kids and 2 dogs. BRILLIANT. I would defo recommend this site to campers. The only down side is the toilet block is a bit of a trek, not handy for those with kids as you have to cross main road. Oh roll on next weekend I'm going back.
The pitches are great, level and well kept. Very roomy as we had two Hi Gear Sahara 6 tents pitched. Even after a sudden downpour the ground was good and not boggy.
There's a kids playpark to the back of the site with a zip wire a must for big kids.We big kids played while our little kids looked on mortified.
A must if you just want a quiet, relaxing weekend away. Try it.

Very good location, beautiful scenery, but non electric tents are in a field with no toilets no showers + no bins. You are allowed to use toilets + showers across the road but the road is busy sometimes not good for young children to cross, this wasn't a problem for us as we have porta toilet but again chemical disposal was on main site.
Kids playpark just at the back of the field where kids can easily get to, if a little more thought into non electric campers this would be a good site we would use this site again

We have just returned home after spending a wonderful bank holiday weekend on this site.
The owners were friendly and welcoming, the park was spotless and well kept.
The only downside were the showers, the water pressure was very weak and you struggled to get hot water, you also had to pay to shower, 20p for approx 2.5mins.
Another downside was no hot water at the wash up area.
There is a kitchen area but only for those staying in the wigwams.
We would certainly return as its a great base for touring with Stirling, Callander, The Trossachs right on your doorstep.

We camped here over the weekend and really really loved this site.
The wardens are exceptionally friendly and easy to find at all times.
We had a massive bell tent, which was no problem at all to them - we had the huge camping field to ourselves with a wonderful panoramic view. Toilets clean and fresh, showers hot and bags of wood for sale at £5.
Lovely village - really friendly with lots of lovely paths for walking and of course the excellent children's playpark. Really quiet and peaceful - just fantastic.
We were quite happy to cook ourselves, but it might have been even better, had we been allowed access to the wigwammers kitchen which you can't use if you are camping.
Other than that though - excellent site - we will definitely be back!

Visited last weekend stayed in number 3 wigwam. Perfect spot, fire pits, great views, playpark for the kids and even a pub just down the road.
The wigwams slept our family of four comfortably.
Facilities clean and the cowboy themed kitchen is great for the kids. Huge playpark next to the wigwams and a play area on site for the wee ones. They also had tractors and trailers for the kids.
Shop and pub just down the road.
Its really close to the Safari Park 4miles.
Jan and Dave the Wardens couldn't be more helpful everything was really well kept and clean.

We booked in advance to stay for one night on our way back down from Northern Scotland, to avoid putting the tent up for such a short stay. It was ideal for this. The wigwam was really cosy and warm - the boys (6 and 8) loved it. It was so warm that we were all unzipping our sleeping bags to keep cool, although it was blowing a gale outside.
The wigwams have electricity, paid for via £1 cards, but we didn't use it at all - didn't need the lights or the heating, and had no use for the fridge that night.
It slept four of us very well, though as it's only one room, once the boys had gone to bed, we couldn't really do anything. On that basis I'm not sure I'd want to spend long in one with young kids.
The facilities were clean, but in the morning I could only find one loo with any loo roll. The warden couldn't have been more friendly and helpful though.
The two hotels in Thornhill both serve good food, and the Lion and Unicorn was able to feed us despite it being a really busy night, because we ate before our table's 8pm booking to someone else.

Just spent the weekend with my daughter (3) here the facilities here are excelent toilets are very well looked after the shower blocks also. There is a playground very nearby (30 seconds) walk which I spent a lot of time at with my daughter, the local shop is well stocked and had everything we asked them for. The village also has two pubs/hotels that do great food if required. The wardens there are very helpful and are very nice. Looking forward to going back again in a couple of weeks, thanks for a great time.
