Visited this site alot over the past 10 years... very friendly people. Excellent rates. Remember the goat and lama too... fleet and aneena

We have just spent a long weekend here. It's a basic site, but the toilets,showers etc were clean enough. It was nice and quiet, and the warden seems to live permanently on site. The site is just at the edge of the village of Thornhill, which has a pub, hotel (which is child friendly with boxes of toys and colouring-in books)and a well stocked village store.
There is a good play park across the road from the site. Our pitch was sloped, but in a trailer tent that's not a problem, and at least it gave us a lovely view. The kids enjoyed themselves here as they had plenty of room to play.
