We were parked the opposite end of the site and no near by facilities for anyone in that area,
The showers were at one end of the site and we were at the other,
Elsan was by the showers to, so long way to walk to empty your loo, motorhomes and campervans should be sited nearer the said facilities not the furthest away,
We paid a lot for what we got, could have been better organized

Views lovely! If paths/roads were covered with stones/ gravel it would be much nicer as it was very muddy and lots of pot holes.
Little shop and cafe on site but didn't use.
Short walk to lovely Pooley Bridge Village.

What a beautiful place! We stopped here on the way to Scotland and really wanted to stop here on the way back!
Views were to die for, right on the lake ( we parked up further back but could still see the lake) within a short beautiful walk along the waters edge is the village with pubs and restaurants - really yummy food!
Site has all amenities. be careful after driving over water drain to deposit your water its a tight turn back out if you don't go back a little. I didn't and nearly took their drainpipe off!
The people working there are so nice and helpful.
Great for having fun in the lake.
All in all a great find and we will come back in the summer.

The upside; The Locations is good. You can walk along the lock to Pooley Bridge.
You can hire a canoe on site. Dog friendly.
The downside; It is a big busy site, the facilities were unclean it was busy.
Plenty of children running round.

Beautiful campsite. Very popular and busy. I enjoyed my stay here. Everyone was very friendly.
Amazing views of Ulswater lake. If you have inflatable water rafts or anything to enjoy the lake pack it! I think you can do wild swimming. Double check with the campsite though.

Lovely site but just so busy and noisy! Toilets ok but really not enough for the amount of people.
Signs in the ladies shower block saying do not brush your teeth there(!) There is a freezer for blocks but no fridge available. Sinks for dishwashing are in the open with no shelter apart from a couple at the entrance.
Don’t consider this site if you want peace and quiet, it’s full of families and friends in large groups. If that suits you it’s lovely with access to the lake and a lakeside walk into pooley bridge and lots of dogs.
Doubt if we’ll be back though.

We usually avoid large sites but this one was nice - adequate facilities, plentiful hot water, good weather, lakeside site (kayak and paddleboard hire)
Reasonably quiet (even during the Euros),
Friendly staff and easy walking distance to Pooley Bridge.
We'll use it again.
