Liked for distance from home. 35 mins.

Liked the space we had on the grass pitch 120 which was next to toilets, showers & other amenities, . Which are 1st class showers/toilets/

Laundry. We didn't use but was obviously used often.

Like the children's park, age 8mths - 12yrs.

Liked the relaxed, peacefulness.

Liked the friendly owners & campers alike.

The owners very friendly, approachable & happy to chat also can't do enough to make sure your stay is perfect.

Like the separate bins for recycling.

Liked the secure site, . Key fob entry/exit.

Liked the hut with info & books to borrow/swap.

Liked the cleanliness of the site. Not 1 piece of rubbish to be seen around the site.

Dog friendly. Owners love dogs.

Liked that straight opposite the site is a former coal pit. Now a wildlife oasis!, perfect for walking the dogs, & children, running, jogging, cycling. Woodland & wildlife ponds. Fab view at the highest point.

Liked. Especially Liked the late checkout. 12pm, & as long as no one is booked on your pitch after 1 the owners are quite accommodating.

Dislikes.

Price. £70, 2 nights, EHU, 2 adults & 2 children under 5 & 2 dogs. Probably wont stay again as we know of lots of other sites with as good facilities but with an amazing view or next to a beach or lake.

Next to a road. Local boy racers with there loud exhausts, . But we where pitched near the road. Not a constant noise just a few hours early evening /night. I'm quite sensitive to annoying noises so probably won't bother anyone else.

Dislikes. The gravel/stone road on site.

Can be quite deep in places. Hard to walk over, especially with mobility issues. Luckily we forgot the children's scooters & bikes as they wouldn't have been able to use them anyway. Great for the actual pitch sites but not practical elsewhere.

Did really like this site, but due to the price & locality we probably wouldn't stay again.

First visit to this site, very well kept, very welcoming wardens. Site no longer called Teversal since becoming independent from C&CC - now called Silverhill Woodland Retreats.

In facilities block the Ladies has 3 loos and then 5 more combined loos /showers and a 3 basin cubicles. Always clean and looked after.

Only one bin area outside the facilities block.

Pitches vary greatly in size, all cost the same but some really massive, to be fair though even the smallest are big enough for a van and awning (reduction for over 60's on pitch fees).

Drive over motorhome point, several fresh water and grey waste areas, good washing up area with under cover and a laundry.

On arrival we were shown to a pre allocated pitch. Guessing a continuation from C&CC days. Most vans being pitched together in one area when other parts of site were nearly empty. Even though our allocated pitch was very slopping there was no movement on pitch from the one ore-allocated.

This was the only thing that disappointed us, we felt very hemmed in with units pitched all around us, and yet there were plenty of leveller pitches further up site that remained empty - with plenty of space around them all weekend.

Loved the old colliery park right outside the park. Cycle and walking paths for miles

Reception shop sell a good selection of treats, general food and caravan spares.

It's a lovely site and we would visit again if more flexibility on pitches when much nicer pitches are sitting empty.

We've visited this site for the last 8 years, it is always immaculate, well managed and friendly.

Good on site facilities, and easy access to nearby local amenities, attractions, shops, food etc.

This site is a credit to Chris and Jane and their staff.

Well organised site, great walks across the road with great views.

Excellent takeaway and delivery service from the local Chinese.

Pub just down the road needs to be booked for a Saturday evening as it is very popular.

 What' was GOOD:

Friendly welcome

Well maintained site

Good walking across the road

What was BAD:

Excessive noise from adjacent development site (owned by campsite owners) 7 days a week.

Thick gravel on hardstandings and site roads - difficult to drag toilet cassettes and wastemasters.

Hardstandings pitch not level, side to side.

COVID-19: No hand sanitising facilities outside sanitary block, chemical toilet disposal or bin area.
