Wow what a fantastic site. Site was immaculate and the staff polite and very helpful. The friars head is a lovely setting to have a meal with a lovely selection on the menu.
The children's play area is the best I have seen on a park as big as this. Well done to everyone at the park we will definitely return.

Fantastic site, the pitches aren't marked but everyone seemed to have enough space. The warden is excellent, so helpful and seems to enjoy his job which always helps. The play park is great, well maintained and plenty to do.
Only minor gripe was that one person had a large fire pit on the go while we were there, I'm not against fires but if they are banned then everyone should adhere to the rule.

Lovely place, beautiful location, Its a large site and it can get quite busy but everyone we met was respectful of others, they have an all music off by 10. 30 rule that wasn't too strict but again folk were respectful of others and it wasn't too noisy at all after dark, Great play area for the kids with plenty of room for them to run around :-)
Designated fenced in dog walking area so dogs can be off the lead for a run around the field. Wardens are around to help if needed when first arriving, Toilet, shower, washroom facilities absolutely spotless shower area is cleaned 3 times a day.
Great location just a short drive to Hawes, Masham etc We will be back again for sure.

This is a lovely site. The toilet block was constantly being cleaned and was immaculate. The playground was great and the golf driving range was a bonus for older children.
The Friar's Head pub on site was superb, food and service excellent. The location is handy for Asgarth Falls, the Forbidden Corner, and many pretty Dales towns and villages. The only slight negative was a noisy group on our last night and not being able to contact anyone to speak to the offending party.
It would have been appreciated if the site had a warden checking for this sort of selfish behaviour but it wouldn't put me off going again.

We visited this site on 14th May 2016. The site is 9 miles from the lovely town of Richmond, where there is a choice of shops, pubs, etc. And 6 miles from a Tesco.
We were very impressed with the welcome, the instructions and map of where to pitch, although, as they were not busy the very friendly and helpful lady said choose anywhere you like. She told us about the golf (you can hire clubs etc. ) and places to visit in the area.
The site itself was immaculate, the grounds were lovely, the shower and toilet facilities were spotless and the toilets/showers were lovely and warm(even in the middle of the night!). The water was hot enough and the showers great. There is a little shop, and although small it had all the basics. There is a very nice pub/restaurant looking over the golf course and although a little pricey, it was lovely.
The pitches themselves were level, clear and hook up on every one. There is a great park for the kids, which is in view of some of the pitches which is great for parents.
The only negative about our stay was that we couldn't of stayed longer than one night. We would have quite happily stayed there for a week.
I would give this park 9. 5/10 only losing 0. 5 for the tiny shop. We would highly recommend!

Lovely open site in a grand location - fantastic dog walking and exercise facilities. Looked to be great for kids also.
Really enjoyed the site. Very helpful staff in offices etc, and lovely beer garden at the pub.
Slight negatives were weak water pressure on showers, no privacy cubicles. Grass cuttings left on site, so motorhome gets covered in trailing grass.
Will definitely go back to this site.

We first visited this site May 2014, and been again there has been some big improvements. The shower block which was dated has been updated and it is lovely the showers are free, heated and are immaculate at all times, the new play park is a credit to the park it's for all ages with plenty of grass to play ball games.
All the staff are friendly and seem happy in their work which reflects in the standard the park. It's so easy to get to with a nice large entrance and a good check in system.
There are plenty places to visit, the local train station is about a 15 minute walk, and Finghall village is about 20 minute away which has lovely pub and does a lovely early bird menu.

1st time away in our caravan, with a one year old & 2 dogs, fantastic site. Toilet blocks were immaculate & the cleaners seemed to be working hard to keep them that way !
The dog walking areas were a real bonus & grass short & maintened well. Couldn't say one negative about our stay & will definitely will be back soon

Just back from Bank Holiday weekend away here - our first trip in our new motorhome.
We really liked the site overall. It had a great family feel.
Reception was friendly and efficient and despite it being Bank Holiday weekend the site didn't feel over full. There was still lots of space for the kids to play and a fantastic play area with lots of open space around it for ball games.
We were in the St Andrews Park area at the bottom of the site next to a gorgeous 12th century church. Free pitching but numbers clearly limited so everyone had lots of space.
Smart new toilet block which was kept very clean.
We used the on site bar/restaurant (The Friar's Head) the first night - food was good and the early bird menu and children's menu were excellent value.
For a car free trip we went out the bottom of the site by the church, along the lane and turned L up the hill. A 5 minute walk takes you to Finghall Lane station on the Wensleydale Railway - we they took the stunning journey up to Redmire, stopping in Leyburn on the way back for a few hours. Reception has the train timetable or you can find it on line.
Overall a fantastic well maintained family campsite.

I have just returned from Akebar Park following a weekend trip with grandchildren. It is a huge park with more EHUs than I recall elsewhere. The site is mainly on grass and is level. There are two touring areas, The Poplars and St. Andrews. The Poplars is the one closest to the new children's playground where there is a large grassy area for ball games. The toilets have been completely rebuilt during the winter and are absolutely spotless, (a credit to the staff). There are also two huge family shower rooms. Dishwashing and elsan are at the side of the toilet block. Overall, we found it an ideal site where the children could play in safety. The site takes Motorhomes, Caravans and Tents,
WARNING. Children are NOT allowed in the bar after 7. 30pm (unless dining)
