Asolutely Wonderful, in fact, we stayed at St Tinney last year and missed it this year as we stayed further down towards St Ives. Having read a few of the reviews on here about facilities not being up to date, in my opinion, these people should go to a huge great holiday park such as Haven as St Tinney is a small family run affair and is not themed to be ultra modern!

The St Tinney Arms was exceptional and the food was fantastic value for money, huge tasty homemade meals, the camping fields were super with lots of space for children to play.

It was nice to come to a camp site where you could feel like you were back with nature, no tarmac, no defined pitches, just absolute tranquillity! We adored it here. The new pool was brill and we enjoyed the use of it nearly every day. The nature walk and fishing lakes were lovely, as were the resident animals of St Tinney Farm! Most people seem to have a gripe about the toilet blocks, however, they were extremely clean if a little old fashioned but I am sure the owners have this on their list of improvements judging from the quality of everything else on site.

We loved St Tinney and will definitely return! Highly recommended.

Just returned from this site. Unfortunately we had the worst weather for camping, persistent rain and I am sure on hot sunny days it is a great place to camp. We were placed in the meadow field which was not well drained and the track and adjoining grass that ran through it became a swamp-we even had to buy wellies! Would have been much better if some hard core could have been put on the track so you didnt get dirty coming back from the shower!
On the plus side, the pub and its food were truly excellent, as was the pool. Shower facilities we found ok but would have liked more room and a shelf to put clothes etc. Great place to the surrounding countryside and we hope the sun shines next time we go!

This site is probably a great site if the weather is good, but if it has been raining remember to pack your wellies and then you will be able to enjoy the nature trails and walk to the shower / toilet block through the muddy puddles.

The swimming pool was a lovely facility and very clean as was the shower / toilet block. However the showers were on a push button, one temperature and had a fixed direction. The Toilet block was closed for cleaning from 10.30 till 12.30 which led to queues at the two toilets at the pub which were opened from 8am. The pub itself opened up 5.30pm.

I feel that the owners were missing out on a asset by placing the shop away from the reception and only opening from 9.30am til 10am and on request. Why not combine with reception and provide a more open and friendly facility? The shop area could then be made into an additional dishwashing area as there were only two sinks in a leaky lean to.

I guess this is a great site for those who enjoy fishing and is in a good location for the coast.

This is basically a good site but the owners need to spend some time on maintenance and investment. All the good points have been covered by other reviews but I feel the bad points need to aired.

Firstly the toilet/shower block though clean is a very basic facility. The sites fees are not cheap here and one would expect amenities to be in line with prices charged.

The shower curtains and the ceiling have mould on.The toilet seats are truly gross and look so old. The decor inside is very home done and is not a professional installation. There is not enough toilets and showers for the number of campers so the pressure on them causes them to become messy very quickly.

The washing up sinks a whole two of them are again very basic and in need of being renewed.

The water and waste points are in poor condition. The chemical toilet emptying point is awful, it is very overgrown and the floor full of moss and god knows what! Its one the most basic set ups I have ever seen. Again its need a major overhaul.

The paths/roads around the site are poor, they are only stones which have been scattered very thinly.Grass and mud is coming though and there is a lot of muddy puddles/potholes. This means getting around the site in the wet weather you cannot help but get covered in mud, not much fun.

The washing machine is fine but the dryers are terrible, a complete waste of time. So many things are done on the cheap or not professional standard.

The bar is small but fine, it has a good range of drinks with normal prices. But don't sit down the benches are just so uncomfortable home made affairs.

There is many weeds/stinging nettles around the pitches which need to be cut back even around the climbing frame. There is plenty of land on the site to be left natural.

We did not try the food but understand its good though a bit pricey.

This has I said before is a good site but the prices being charged you expect far better facilities. We have camped for nearly ten years and stayed on many different sites. We have come to expect varying standards but this is normally reflected in the price being charged.

I would love to go back if the site was bought up too standard but sadly expect it only to get worse.

What can I say, this site was fantastic, we stayed here 2 years ago and we keep saying we will go back, not managed it yet though. It is a proper family run camp site, it was so nice to see all the children of all ages playing together in the middle of the camping field, many nights they would organise a cricket match or a game of football, while the adults could relax and keep and eye on them.

The little pub on site is very good and it's a lovely walk (not far) down to the fishing lake.

We will be back soon.

St. Tinney is a small, peaceful family run, family orientated site, with the added bonus of great fishing!

We've (like many others) been going to St. Tinney on and off for over 10 years, and have always found it excellent, with the family that run it very friendly and helpful.

This year they've added a fantastic outdoor heated swimming pool, that got a lot of use when we were there.

This season they have upgraded the shower block, new boiler/new flooring, piping hot water etc.

St. Tinney isn't Butlins, and isn't over commercialised, but it is clean, friendly and welcoming, and you will want to go back.

We have just returned from this campsite 2 days ago, and have thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. We have a 3 year old and a 7year old.
We camped in the ley field, where there is a really good playing area, where all the kids met up in the evenings and played for hours. It was really lovely to see all the children playing outside, as many, including ours, do'nt often get opportunities to do this.
The swimming pool, is stunning, brand new this year, heated, which meant we could go in, even when the sun didn't shine, and it was padded. The children really enjoyed the nature trail quiz.
The food at the quaint little pub on site, was plentiful and tasty and very reasonable priced. . I will definitely be going back. All in all, a super site for families with younger children.

Have stayed on and off on this site for the past 10 years or so. First visited with tent and then upgraded to caravan and then latterly the sites own accommodation.
My step children used to love staying here, but they are now adults themselves and have been back since and have enjoyed just as much - now with their own families.

This is an extremely quiet beautiful and peaceful site- a place to escape the rat race and recover in. Very unspoiled.
If your children need constant entertainment - then this is not a site for them, but if your child can keep themselves entertained then this is a place where they can be free and safe. I emphasise the word safe.
The owners have young children themselves so tend to be child orientated. There is a large multipurpose play park with climbing frame etc in the caravan field.
My partner is a fishing nut and everywhere we went on holiday had to suit his needs - This site has four lakes with small fish up to medium sized fish and fishing is until dusk to preserve the quality of the fish. Never used to see partner from morning until night My hobby needs are different but guess what but I absolutely love it here and I can enjoy my hobbies too.

The freedom and wildlife, as well as the beautiful countryside are marvellous. Deer in the valley, woodpeckers, etc. This site has won the David Bellamy for conservation 8 times. There are recylcing facilities as well. The family who own this site are friendly and helpful, and the pub is well run with good food and good company. Most visitors end up in the pub and many friendships have been made over the years in the pub over a glass of well kept cider!

I would reiterate what other users have said, about the toilet block which although jaded is absolutely spotless. This is what impresses me so much about this site, no rubbish or mess. I believe plans are afoot to upgrade these facilities. They also now have a swimming pool which opened in May this year. If you like peace and quiet then go on give this site a try you will find no better. I love it here.

St. Tinney's is a fantastic, clean, quiet and cosy site nestled about 1 mile off the A39 down a narrow, high hedged country lane.

This was my first time camping, and I was dreading it. Myself and my wife tipped up with her sister and her family, and we had been allocated site 13 and 14 on the Ley Park. Unfortunately, it had been raining most of the morning and the pitch was wet. We got both tents up in under 1 and a 1/2 hours and fully pitched after another hour. Not bad for my first go. As it was raining again, we got our boots and rain jackets on and went and had a meal in the St. Tinney Arms pub, which is located on the site and was one of the nicest pubs I had been too. Food was great quality, and excellent value. Very full and with a few of the local ciders down me we went back to the tents and slept through the wind and rain.

Following day was bright and warm, and the site looked a million times nicer. The field we were on had a mixture of tents and caravans with the electric hookups on the bottom part of the field. We also had the great climbing frame in the centre of the field for the kids.

Looking around the site, there was also the Meadow Field which leads onto the playing field and one of the nature walks and also some of the many fishing lakes / spots around the site.
At the bottom of the slight hill which both pitching fields are on is clean water supply and the bin area. A short walk further down reveals the toilet / shower block, reception, pub and the small site shop which sells very fresh eggs, milk, bacon, bread and cheese.

New this year was the fantastic outside heated swimming pool which the kids loved.

All the kids where given nature booklets and we spent a good two hours wandering the lovely nature trails.

St. Tinney's is a great location for touring the Cornwall area. Tintagel, Boscastle and Widemouth being great places to visit. We also hit Bodmin Jail, Jamaica Inn, Eden Project (awesome) and the great little village of Camelford 5 minutes down the road who make some of the greatest Cornish Pasties.

Finally, the shower / toilet and dishwashing area needs, in my opinion, knocking down and starting again. It's tiny, gets smelly and is cleaned once from 10:30 to 12:30. As the previous post stated, the locks don't work, very hot and powerful showers on which you cannot change the temperature, taps that spray more water on you then into the sink, badly positioned dish washing sinks.

I will be coming back in the future, but not until the shower / toilet block area is sorted out. It really is the only thing that lets this great site down.

A quite site 1 mile off the A39 down a narrow country lane.

The site is built on the side of a hill with the Reception, pub and shower/toilet block at the bottom and the two touring pitches at the top.

The Meadow tour pitch is on the left and Ley Park tour pitch is on the right. Both fields slope gentle down hill.

Meadow is a field with an rough road running diagonally across it. Rubish bins and water are near the entrance.

Ley Park field has the 10 electric hook-ups, a water tap, chemical disposal and rubbish bins at the bottom corner. It also has a good childrens play area in the centre.

The shower/toilet block is not modern and is quite run down although clean. Showers are a disgrace, no locks on the doors, erratic temperature control and small dressing space. The block is closed each day between 10.30 PM to 12.00 for cleaning.

Pub is cosy and a popular meeting place. The food served is good at reasonable prices. The beer is keen too.

Monday to Friday at 9.00 AM there are pony rides for the smaller children which is highly recommended. The staff are excellent. Nature trail around the site passes the 3 fishing ponds and is well worth walking around.

Good position for touring North Cornwall/South Deveon. Launceston and Bude nearest shopping outlets. Boscastle and Tintagel Head within 5 miles.

Would have rated this site as A1 if the shower/toilet block where not so dire. Would go back if these facilities were changed.
