Infact we took our caravan, also booked a pitch in the tent field for our son and also a static for our daughter, husband and grandson - a bit of a family gathering!
Booking in was painless and we were directed to our various pitches etc. The static was clean and ready on arrival in a requested quieter spot of the site, so no complaints. The tent whilst on a slight slope was fine unlike the neighbours who sadly didn't know the meaning of 'toning' it down after midnight. We're all there for a good time but they took the biscuit. Now to the touring caravan. We booked fully serviced hardstanding and in fairness had a quiet plot with only 2 huge American motorhomes for company. However, you could hardly see the thin level of gravel for the weeds and grass coming through. The following day some chaps came along with strimmers and spades to start clearing this but it took a whole day to do one pitch so they might have it finished by the end of the peak season. This surely should have been dealt with long before the season got under way and when you are paying the eye-watering rates they charged-£39/night, we felt a little cheated. If you go - try the grass pitches, they looked far better!
As for the park, it delivered in all other areas and the staff were cheery and polite at all times making it a handy family site.

This is a terrific site. We got a great deal for going out of season and found the facilities were excellent! The staff were helpful, welcoming & friendly, and the touring facilities were clean and kept to a high standard. Although the pitches on the lower field were a little on a slope, they were well maintained and with the caravan levelled it wasn't noticeable. The park is in a great location and is handy for many of the Isle of Wight attractions (but watch out for the very bumpy road which leads to the turn off for the park)! but is also a really pleasant place to just 'chill out' around the site! My wife and I have already decided to re-visit this park as soon as possible.

Childrens Entertainment, on site Shop, and Facilities such as sports complex and swimming pool the kids enjoyed them all. The bathroom facilities were kept reasonably clean. The site was spacious and not to far from the bathrooms and water etc.
Drinks and food in the complex were quite expensive and not always great.
Pool was cold but kids enjoyed it. There was no kids play area near the camping area, you had to go into the complex.

Stayed in a platinum caravan on site. Disappointed that we have stayed in Bronze and Silver level caravans before that have been of a similar standard. I was expecting something a little special! Maybe I have too high expectations. All facilities: pool, kids club and park very good. We had recieved a call earlier in the week to tell us that there was LOADS going on for the jubilee, but we didn't really see a huge amount during our weekend stay. Lovely park for proximity to the beach. Very private, quite a pebbly one. Very well maintained park as I think there are lots of owners. Staffing is always too little at these places and we arrived off the ferry at approx 9. 45 pm to be confronted with a queue of similar caravanners and 1 poor security guard dealing with incorrect bookings. Poor bloke. Bad planning really. We had a lovely break as the Isle of Wight is such a pretty island.

Took my 6 year old for 5 days & we had an absolute blast! The staff were fantastic, facilities great, the ONLY thing that was even a tiny bit of a negative was that a lot of the guests didn't exactly hail from the Chelsea elite if you know what I mean, but everyone was relaxed & happy & just up for a laugh. The night time entertainment was brilliant - real cheesy 70s kind of cabaret - took me back to my childhood! If you're up for a laugh & you just want some silly fun with the kids then I totally recommend it. A year on and my daughter and I still do the Sparkeys Crew Club dance!

A good holiday park however the site states flat pitches this is not the case most on a slight slope. There is a touring warden but never saw him even when there was trouble on the site 1 night. Facilities ok but all could do with an update only 7 changing rooms for the pool, floor very slippy and you have to walk down slippy steps to the toilet but pool nice and warm. Kids club was good and the disco was fab but a bit late in starting 8pm with 3 young kids! Reception staff could do with a bit of local knowledge training some didn't have a clue where the nearest supermarket was (10 mins drive)
The beach only a short walk down a lane to a pebbled beach.
Toilet block ok not very well cleaned only 4 showers in each and a bath showers were set a temperature which I thought were too hot especially for children, half the toilet doors didn't lock or close the floors were very slippy and no where to put your wash things so everything got wet. A separate baby changing area but no shower in there and 4 sinks for pot washing. Shop well stocked but some of the stuff out of date so I would check the dates! Bar prices ok about £3. 15 a pint food really good and good value for money and good food deals £23. 99 for 2 adults and 2 kids meals plus drinks. There doesn't seem to be a speed limit on site cars flying past at all hours. A lot of pitches for the size of the facilities. All in all a good holiday but wouldn't go back to this park.

Just returned from a weeks camping at this site and we had a fantastic time. Upon arrival we were allocated a pitch but we wanted to pitch elsewhere and it wasn't a problem we found ourselves a great spot. The ground was slightly sloping but it wasn't a problem at all in our large tent. It was a school holiday week but it wasn't too over crowded there was plenty of free space too. The Shower/WCs were very well kept and clean for a site of this size. The water was always nice and hot although the push button shower could have lasted longer per push. The Washing up area was inside and this was also very clean with 4 areas each with bowl and drainer provided. You need a code to get these areas which stopped other holiday makers trying to use these and hence kept it cleaner.
The facilities on site are very good the pool was indoors and the staff are very helpful. We didn't eat in the restaurant but it looked very good. The entertainment was of the usual Park Resorts standard.
There is easy access to the beach although it is very pebbly. The views from the camping field are lovely it was worth it just for that. We will definitely be visiting again next year.

We spent 3 nights at Thorness Bay. We booked a pitch with electric hook up for a campervan and awning.
Unfortunately our pitch was on a slope next to the main road in & out of the site. To our surprise (& horror) vehicles were still coming on & off the site at 1am which didn't allow for a great nights sleep!
The facilities at the site are good, the indoor pool was handy due to terrible weather. The arcades & playground were also useful in keeping the children entertained, and our 4 year old enjoyed Sparky's Fun Club in the evening.
The toilet & shower blocks were large but we felt the ladies could have been better maintained, especially with regard to emptying the sanitary bins which some campers used as nappy disposal units!
The beach area was a short walk away but due to poor weather was only visited once by us.
We probably wouldn't book on this site again as it was quite expensive.

We did not read any previous reviews about this site but being regular Haven holidaymakers, we assumed that Park Resorts would be along the same lines. We received a discount ferry crossing by booking direct via the resort.
We were sited in the first camping field which was a lot less crowed and much more quieter than the other larger camping fields. However, we were placed next to the trees swarming with wasps - they were attracted to the sap and nothing could be done to get rid of them. The pitch was also alongside the site road on which no-one seemed to adhere to the 10mph speed limit and treated it like a main road. It would seem that many people live on site during the season and travel to and from work at all times during the night. There are also many commercial vehicles delivering to the shop, restaurant and bar at early hours of the morning.
All the doorways in the amenities block were by code but the doors were always open anyway. The amenities were a big disappointment and did let the site down. There were 4 toilet cubicles, several public wash basins with no privacy, 4 showers and a bath and toilet within its own room. Throughout the week the water temperature varied between tepid and freezing but this was fixed on the last day. The showers were of the push button and release kind but the water only ran for about 10 seconds. Although the shower cubicles were large, the tray started immediately as you walked through the door and you stepped straight into an inch of water in your dirty footware. There was no separation between the showering area and dressing area and the 2 hooks behind the door were useless. Everything kept falling into the tray, therefore I had to place everything into a carrier bag. The bath is popular with those with children so it does take a long time queuing. The water took a long time to drain out of the bath, therefore you usually had to wait a while after the previous users had left before it emptied. There was nothing to clean the bath out with either. The bath room floor was also flooded with dirty water.
Our daughter loved the entertainment which was only for 1 hour a night starting at 8pm. This is quite late considering the age of the children it was aimed at. We ate at the pub restaurant once and enjoyed the food. The shop was well stocked although we shopped at Morrisons in Newport. The walk to the beach was nice in the evening but I don't think you could spend a day there. I was surprised at how many teenagers were hanging around the club house in the evening but the security never seemed to do anything about them.
The Isle of Wight has so much to do. I recommend Shanklin Old Village and the Chine by night (illuminated during the main holiday season), Cowes and Braden Roman Villa. Because the Island is so small everywhere is within a short driving distance. Be warned, local drivers are manic and have no sympathy for anyone who may not know which lane to be in!

Made a late booking for a week from the Bank Holiday weekend so had to take what was available. Having a dog limited us to accommodation as well. The Bronze caravan we had had seen better days and although an 8 berth van we couldn't imagine it would be very comfortable for that number of people - there were just 3 adults in our party. Barely room to walk sideways alongside the double bed and there was no way 8 people could sit down to a meal together. Shower cubicle very tiny but we didn't use it as the water pressure was so variable, very easy to be scalded or frozen! No clear indication as to where to book in on arrival, had to guess and ask. Poor parking facilities - first come, first served so you could end up some way from your caravan. On site shop reasonably well stocked but we only used it once as better shopping facilities in Newport. Didn't use the pool as no facilities for the disabled (slightly in my case but still not able to manage the ladder). Not impressed by the look of the Bar/Restaurant so ate off site every day. Shingle beach ok for walking the dog on but wouldn't want to take children on it. It would have been nice to have had designated dog walking areas instead of hoping that we weren't trespassing. Our caravan was close by the cleaners/maintenance building so plenty of noise especially early morning and late evening. Reported a leak in the bathroom and it was promptly dealt with so no quibble with that service. The entire site is very hilly and well wooded and very rural; good views. Newport is the best place for shopping and there are some very excellent pubs not too far a drive from the site.
