Absolutely charming site. Just stayed here for a weekend with a big group of friends. Owners were very welcoming and the facilities well appointed and superbly clean. The shelter afforded by the surrounding hedges and walls was vital due the gale force winds and driving rain overnight. Pitch size was good, we had plenty of space for our Bear Lake 6 and car. The town of St. Just is not far and has good selection of independent shops (excellent butcher/deli) and pubs. We were fortunate to get good weather during the day and cleared the cobwebs with a fabulous coastal walk to Sennan cove. We had a lot of children amongst our group and the absence of any specific kids facilities was not a problem- they played all day long and helped feed the chickens too. I spend most of my camping time near St Ives but will certainly be going back to this area again and hope to revisit this site.

This is a lovely, small, quiet campsite with very hospitable and welcoming owners.
The toilet block is clean and showers free. There is a microwave, washing machine and drier and the washing up area is indoors which could be handy if the weather bad.
There is no playground, but the chickens kept our daughter entertained.
The cream tea was lovely. It is on a road with no footpath, but there is a public footpath across the road, although not suitable for pushchairs so a rucksack useful if want to walk locally with small children.

We have stayed at this site many times and can personally say we love it for its small informal and cosy feel.
The toilet block is thoroughly cleaned every day can be a little cold in the winter but the showers are always warm.
Driving in you see all the different chickens which freely roam around the house end of the site.
The owners are friendly and helpful but also leave you to your own devices.
St Just offers everything you could want.
I recommend riding up the hill on a push bike although difficult getting up the coming down takes you back to your childhood

We had 6 nights here in August. This was a lovely campsite, small, quiet and importantly sheltered.
The facilities were clean, there was only one shower in the mens and ladies but we found we did not have to wait long. There was washing and drying facilities and one washing up area, but again we only had to wait once. The owners were very helpful and on hand.
Our pitch size was generous and we did not feel too close to our neighbours.
My parents stayed in the guest house for a few nights and really enjoyed the breakfasts and communal areas.
We would recommend walking into St Just which had some good pubs, but for us the highlight was going to the Minack theatre. The night we went was dry and the whole experience magical, the play was secondary to the backdrop!
Cape Cornwall is worth a walk, the sunsets over the cliffs was beautiful. Penzance (and St Michaels Mount) and St Ives are not far for day trips, however, avoid the Levant mine, this was very disappointing!
We would recommend this campsite and would return again.

What a great little site! We chose this having looked at several in the area mainly due to its size (we prefer small quiet campsites). On arrival we were quickly checked in by Corinne and then shown to our pitch. The site is very quiet even when full and we were spoilt by the facilities! Simple things such as a washing line make such a difference when camping. The amenities block was great with freezer, washing up area, iron & ironing board, washer and dryer and even a microwave. Only 1 shower for women and one for men, but never had to queue for either the shower or the toilets. Surrounding area is stunning, with loads of activities available plus beautiful countryside to walk through. St Just is an easy 10 minute walk from the site and is a very pleasant little village with all the shops you need. Would def return to this site again!

We spent 8 days at this site and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Initial reaction was that the picture on the website doesn't quite reveal the true site. There are 3 large pitches on the left as you drive in, slightly separated by hedges, (that's where the photo was taken)and used by very large tents, but the rest were undivided and open. We didn't feel the width of the pitches were overly big but plenty of space in front of our caravan.
Shower block was always spotless and we never had to wait for a shower despite there only being one per sex.
As mentioned before the walk into St Just is easy and we did that several days for various reasons.
We ate in the fish and chip shop one evening and that was good, we were thankful we were eating in as the queue for the takeaway was a long way out of the door. We also ate in The Queens Arms at Botallack, which was also good. One afternoon we came back from a walk and had a cream tea on the front lawn which was excellent. If you visit St Ives and want lunch, it is well worth going off the main street and finding Olive's Cafe in Market Square, it was the best lunch we have had in a long time and well worth a visit as everything is home made.
It is quick and easy to get to the coastal path and we walked to Sennon one day which is a lovely walk with fantastic views, another day we decided to catch the open top bus from St Just to Lands End and walk back, again that was well worth doing.
This is a lovely little site, and my only slight gripe (and this isn't unique to this site), is that awnings (including porch awnings) are charged for despite the fact that our caravan and porch awning doesn't take up half as much space as most tents these days.
We would definitely return to this site if visiting the area again.

This is lovely. We had a great time it was quiet and the staff were great. Loos and showers, clean and well maintained, the tumble dryer came in useful as it rained all week but this didn't spoil our holiday. We had a tent pitch with electric, plenty of space for the car and trailer. I recommend this site it is just as the name says, a secret garden - Splendid

Lovely warm welcome. Excellent pitch.Showers were hot with unlimited water. Only one per sex but with only 12 pitches I never had to queue.Had wild and windy weather but could have spent evening in guests lounge in the owners' B and B where there's also a small bar. St Just is nearby and worth a visit. Cape Cornwall very dramatic, especially in gales!
Thoroughly recommend this site.

Stayed here in July 09 - fantastic little site. Beautifully kept - secret garden for a reason - it really was likely staying in someone's garden. Owners very friendly (nice to escape the rain into their bar) and also has a B&B.
Brilliant facilities - lots of great 'support' including freezer, microwave and lovely showers. Despite being tiny (and full), only had to queue once for few mins.
Really can't praise this site enough - peaceful and beautiful. Good base for exploring and quick walk across the fields into St Just for a quick pint!
Very reasonable as well given beauty of site and facilities!
Wouldn't hesitate to recommend or stay here again.

Very good camp site, this site does not do it justice, best in st just
Great bus service. This is a must see!
Great location for walking. Close to a small beach and cape cornwall is just up the road.
Facilities were great with everything you could ever need all there.
