A lovely quiet touring park. Stayed here for two nights and loved it. Very well run site, wardens are fab! very welcoming and polite. Showers and toilets facilities are very clean. Site is well set out, spacious, with beautiful lakes, beautifully kept grass. Really can't fault it and will be returning.

I visited Ashby Park for one week with my Wife and Grandson. We wanted to do a bit of fishing and put our feet up for a bit. The site is very clean (very clean and modern). The toilet/shower blocks are immaculate. Pathways, hedges and grassed areas are all perfect. The owner and staff are very approachable and very friendly. My Grandson (7) caught several fish (on bread) and I needed to hang onto him as well as help reel the fish in. The fishing is picturesque and clean. Regular patrols of the site by staff day and night.
There are strict rules about dogs and children around the lakes which makes for a very safe environment for everyone. 20 pence for a shower which I imaging some folk would complain about but I've queued for ages outside showers at other camp sites in the past waiting for teenagers to get out. 20 pence was easily enough time for me and Grandson to shower before the hot water went off. Also 20 pence for dish-washing-water which also stops anyone messing about. Take those 20 pence additions into consideration before you book and jobs-a-good-un.
I'm going again. The site has no children's play areas but there are 7 lakes so supervision and their protection is very important so a play area where Parents abandon their children might not be a good idea. My seven year old just wanted to go fishing with me so he was happy. There's plenty to do in the area and the tent field has lots of space to play. The wildlife is amazing. Fish, ducks etc, deer, geese, birds, bats and those lovable little ants (ant powder did the trick). Also the local takeaway deliver in very quick time.

We stayed here last week for our first experience in towing a caravan. We loved the site and the staff were very attentive - how they knew which pitch were on I do not know - there must be a 100 - but somehow they remember.
The chaps take you to your pitch and marshall you in (ideal for me a first timer). The grass and water facilities were great and always kept clean. As were the toilet blocks, very clean and always maintained.
Only drama for us was that the concrete slabs next to our van were 4 deep, not 3, (+2. 8m) meaning our awning could not be put up/pegged out properly. The staff bodged some timber in the slabs to hook up to, which helped a little bit for us to peg out. However, it must have done the job as we had thunder and lightning on the 2nd day and the awning stayed up.
Our view was right next to the lake which was stunning. We were very grateful for mossie nets in the van and the awning, there were plenty of them!
The pub is a hike out of site, but town is lovely and a short drive away.
Would we go back. ? Yes.

This is the best site we have ever been to!
Everything is spot on, the grass is cut like a well kept lawn, the whole site is very clean & tidy, the showers & toilets are spotless & the pot wash area even has fairy liquid & dish-cloths for you to use!
If I was going to design a site this would be how I would do it! & the site is so well managed its almost perfect! just lots of duck poo near the 7 lakes!
Showers do cost 20p for 7 mins, but that's more than enough time for most.
I would recommend this site to anyone with a tent or a caravan & will be returning. Would buy a lodge & live on here full time if possible!

If you are looking for peace and quiet then you can do no better than to book Ashby Park.
Upon arrival the staff were very friendly and helpful, loved the pamphlets full of information. We were shown to our pitch and helped to get a perfect fit, which to be honest not a lot of sites do these days.
The actual pitch could not have been better placed with a lovely view over looking one of the many lakes. We were also quite near the toilet and shower block which were always clean and tidy.
The showers do cost 20p and if like me you have longish hair then I do suggest you take a few more as the shower doesn't last long enough.
The site has lots of well defined walks around the seven lakes with a fantastic array of wild life. Our dog was in heaven! The staff are very friendly and busy keeping the site pristine.
We did have a drive to Horncastle mainly to use the supermarket. All in all a pretty little town. To be honest we were happy to stay on site relaxing.
We will definitely be returning to recharge our batteries.

Back from a great 4 days at Ashby Park, on the edge of Horncastle, only a 20min walk into the town. What a fantastic site, beautiful lakeland walks, fishing is pretty good too.Father in Law came to visit and was that impressed that he purchased a static caravan on the site.
Hard standing pitches are all level and well spaced with great views, toilet & shower facilities are A1, clinically clean, as good as Caravan Club Sites. You are shown to your pitch and even a little help lining your unit up, which was helpful, the owners really make you feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble. All in all Ashby Park we will be back.

Just got back from a fantastic weekend break at Ashby Park. The site is immaculate. The staff are friendly and welcoming and take you to your pitch.
The pitches are not particularly wide but are quite long and on the field we were put on, there was only one other tent and a caravan so we had plenty of room.
The pitches are level and there are plenty of drinking water points and bins that are emptied regularly. The toilet blocks are the best I have ever seen, they are so clean and modern.
It is a lovely quiet site and we will definitely be going back. The only thing lacking was a children's playground, but there was plenty of room for them to play near the pitch.

This is a very well kept site, all the facilities are to a high standard and the staff friendly. For me though the site was let down by a few things:
A hook up, which I did not require was included in the price of the pitch. Pitches without a hook up had been £4 per night cheaper but were crossed out of the price list as unavailable. Because of this I thought it was expensive and would not stay there again.
The obligatory hook up meant we were directed to a pitch and were not given a choice of location. This was next to two other units and like anyone else we would prefer to have our own space if the site is fairly empty as it was over the weekend.
Not that our neighbours were a problem or anything but we just like to be able to pick where we pitch. Admittedly we usually go for less formal camping sites and these were the only let downs on an otherwise excellent site.

This was our first camp of the year and we left it to last minute to book for a break to take advantage of the easter / royal wedding break.
The weather was forecast to be fab so we rang round and got in last minute at ashby park.
The people in reception were really nice and helpful.
We knew reading reviews that the ground was hard so we took our hard pegs -- yep we needed them, please don't go to this site without hard pegs, you need them.
Plenty of room for tent, car, trailer and bbq-- good size pitch considering it was a last minute booking, they were well full but didn't squash us in.
Although you needed a 20p bit for a shower it lasted me out and my misses reckons I'm in the shower forever.
Please note these were the cleanest shower and toilet blocks we have ever come across
This camp site is tailored to fishing and nature walks but if it had a play area for kids and a bar it would be brilliant.
We will go again, thanks for a nice stay ashby park staff.

2nd time at this sight for a short 1 night stay in our new tent.
Excellent washing and toilet facilities, what every site should deliver. Nice and quiet site, well looked after by the owners, close enough to Horncastle to get a takeaway. Highly recommended for anyone visiting this area of Lincolnshire.
The lakes are nice to walk around and everyone is very friendly, no real facilities for young children which would prevent us from staying for more than a weekend with our 1 year old, but there are facilities in nearby Horncastle.
My only difficulty was hammering my cheap pegs into the ground - lots of stones/tree roots leading to a few bent pegs. Some decent pegs would have sorted this.
