Retanna is a lovely site between Helston and Falmouth. The site is a small family owned operation and this is very apparent in the high levels of personal service given.
I have camped at this site twice, the pitches are well spaced some have free electrical hookups. The ground is largely flat and very well maintained with large numbers of trees and shrubs.
The toilet block is very new and well equipped. The facilities were always spotlessly clean and the showers hot at any time of day.
In the last year the games room has been relocated to a new building and upgraded to provide WiFi as well as TV, a pool table, air hockey and table football.
There is also a children's playground for the younger kids, this is also very modern and well maintained. I would not hesitate to recommend this site to anyone looking for a small and peaceful location for a couple of family holiday.

We chose this campsite as a base for a two day camping trip exploring Cornwall, for which it was very well located.
The toilet / shower facilities were all exceptionally clean. As was was the games room with a pool table, air hockey table and table football - but you will need some loose change to play on these.
We went on the Saturday at the end of half term week, and possibly due to the timing and the awful week of weather, we were the only two tents on site. There were several people staying in static caravans.
Unfortunately, probably due to the uncharacteristic low temperatures for this time of year, the toilet / shower block was absolutely freezing.
We would stay again, but would pick a week where there was likely to be more campers, as it did feel like a ghost town.

This year was our fourth visit to this site and each being for a two week stay. It is a very well maintained site with the owners being as friendly the day you leave as the day you arrive.
We visit Cornwall for coastal walks and whether it is Lizard area or across to St Ives this site is central and coast to coast is minutes away.
The site is inland, quiet and well worth a visit. If it is a nice beach you are after then they are minutes away or if its a theme park you need then Flambards is 10 minutes drive.
There are no shortage of pubs for a reasonable meal within 5 minutes drive.
Helston town has a good assortment of shops along with there being a Sainsbury's supermarket within a 10 minute drive from the camp site.
Highly recommended

Good points about this site, it is very central when visiting Cornwall so everything is within easy travelling distance. The site is long and thin and the grass is cut regular and is nice and short when pitching your tent.
Although our pitch was on quite a slope but have seen worse. The new loo and shower block is really nice and cleaned every day. The tumble dryer, washing machine, iron that you can higher was great.
The kids really enjoyed the park and the pool table and air hockey that wasn't expensive. Now the not so good points, there is a farm next door so the farm yard noises at different times was a bit loud at times.
Overall a nice park as a base when visiting Cornwall.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on this quiet campsite. Although it is close to the main road the traffic noise wasn't too bad.
The play park is excellent for children and there is plenty of space for them to run around in.
The shower block is nice and clean and the water temperature for showering and dishwashing remains at a decent constant temperature.
The tent pitches are a on a slight slope but not so much as to spoil things.
The family who run it are friendly. They gave us a voucher for Flambards which saved us about £15 on a family ticket. We will return!

Excellent campsite. Large pitches and flat ground. Toilet, shower and washing facilities all very clean.
Close to Falmouth & Helston, the bus stops about 100 yards from front of campsite so we bus'd to Falmouth for dinner (for which there are loads of fantastic restaurants.'Two Ten 200' is amazing) and got taxi back.
Games room was good for quick game of pool and airhockey while waiting for the bus. Very nice relaxed atmosphere, helpful friendly staff.
Hopefully will be returning this year.

We have stayed in the caravans before in the past but had our family with us as we loved it so much. This year we stayed in the cottage on the holiday park it is an amazing place, beautiful kitchen, comfortable beds and lovely grounds.
This is our 4th and best ever visit to this site and highly recommended we are going back next year that's for sure. Even if you do not stay in the cottage the caravans are really nice to stay in too.
There are great facilities for washing, park for kids and a play room and small shop. Close to a lot of places of interest all you need really for a great holiday.

What a fabulous base station to visit south and mid Cornwall. The site is relatively small and well managed by very friendly and helpful owners. There is a small games room, laundry and toilet block on site, which are well kept. Although right by the main road to Helston or Falmouth the traffic can hardly be heard and certainly not seen. The only noise we heard during our stay was that of the cattle and if that isn’t part of being in the countryside and part of the enjoyment then what is?
This year was our second visit to this site and I know that it will not be the last by a long shot.

Our first visit to this site, it is lovely. The owners are very helpful with the many questions I asked (I have stayed in cornwall many times but not in this area). The facilities are brand new and are kept in spotless condition. The children's play area is a perfect size and kept our 4 and 6 year old busy. There is a games room on site but it is right at the entrance which meant a lot of kids hung out at the play area in the evening instead of walking down, but the parents kept to the rules and collected them at 10.30pm. There are two pubs a short drive away and both serve good food would say we preferred the Halfway House. You can drive to two lovely beaches within 15 mins also Falmouth and Helston within 10 mins both have large supermarkets. Altogether this campsite is perfect, the only comment I would make is that all the camping pitches are slightly sloping, but once we had added a bit of card under one end of the cooker etc then it was all ok. Great site would definitely visit again.

This is the second visit to retanna very friendly small site owners are always pleased to help with any problems (even if you forget lighter fluid for bbq) new shower/toilet block very nice and cleaned twice daily.Good small park for younger children positioned so you can keep eye on them. The park caters for both elec hook up or not and also has some statics near to reception area.Small shop/games room.Only downfall is shop does not stock bread or milk so you have to remember to get from supermarkets approx 5 miles away. Pitches are good size but on slight slope but caused no problems. All in all good base for holidays in south cornwall. We will use again in future
